By the time I reached round 28 few times, there wasn't much money to spend on upgrading turrets. I guess i will look into Beetle, but I think I just dont know how to spend money wisely. I spent on a lv.5 Mushroom turret, 2 lv.0 laser turrets, 1 lv.0 Zapper turret. Ant's Howitzer, Ant Hole, Teleporter, upgraded his main weapon twice Termite's Food Cultivator, railgun, auto-turret, Shield Spider's Executioner, the final $1500 ability that does a straight line damage? I think thats all the money I have been spending on...
I would advise upgrading the turrets BEFORE the main weapons (certainly before the $1500 second upgrade). A level 5 zapper turret is a huge help.
Don't forget one of the keys to making extra money is being able to beat side quests... in fact in Hard it is basically a requirement (though you still need to be savvy enough to choose which quests you know you can handle). Was just submitted today actually -- there were a few last minute hiccups we had to clear up. Change Log: - added FREE new Praying Mantis Hero! - added new In-App Purchase ($.99): "Treasure Trove" -- allows you to enable an option to start each game with unlimited money (Note: you cannot post high scores when this option is enabled); also instantly unlocks all levels, armor, equipment, and turrets (not including content you do not own from other IAPs) - fixed a crash that would occur immediately during start up - fixed a bug with Ant's Plasma Killer achievement - other minor changes and balance tweaks Also we should be submitting the "Reinforcements" alternate hero pack pretty quickly after this update is approved.
This is worse than waiting for Christmas!! How long do you think until the next update comes out? A week or two? Next month? Oh well, think I will just kill more bugs until then... Going buggy...
Thanks Lectrolux. Im going to try spend some more on other turret, not just the mushroom turret. Funny thing is I tried focus on upgrading on base turrets first, then switched to focusing on mushroom turret only. Now I have to split in the between if you know what I mean. Ya, I managed to complete like 90 percent of side quests on Hard in Living Room without Fly once and still ran out of money. I still think my problem is I make bad decision down the road in purchasing-decision. At least by completing most of the side-quests will land you more points. Looky, I made it to top 6 in high score on Hard for living room. I still need to work on my survival skills though. it looks like I'm the only one who made it to top 10 without reaching round 30. -_-
From Foursaken Media's fb page: The Praying Mantis Hero update has been submitted! Now all we can do is wait for Apple to approve it (should be 1-2 weeks)! Can't wait for you guys to try him out
For those who missed the change-log above.... Change Log: - added FREE new Praying Mantis Hero! - added new In-App Purchase ($.99): "Treasure Trove" -- allows you to enable an option to start each game with unlimited money (Note: you cannot post high scores when this option is enabled); also instantly unlocks all levels, armor, equipment, and turrets (not including content you do not own from other IAPs of course) - fixed a crash that would occur immediately during start up - fixed a bug with Ant's Plasma Killer achievement - other minor changes and balance tweaks Also we should be submitting the "Reinforcements" alternate hero pack pretty quickly after this update is approved.
Thanks for continued development on this title; I think I spent all weekend playing it. Looking forward to Praying Mantis and Reinforcements pack. Developer support of this title seems unprecented on iOS.
Once "Treasure Trove" is activated can you disable it and re-lock the previously unlocked armor/equiptment/turrets? ...or once unlocked will everything remain unlocked? I may be tempted to play with unlimited funds for a kick but feel oddly faithful about unlocking equiptment through achievement.
^This, because after I finally nabbed "Call the Artillery" and "Locked and Loaded" with one of those games that just went on forever yesterday into last night, I will feel pretty silly if someone can pay $0.99 and get those achievements in under 60 seconds. On the other hand, I will be grabbing the "Treasure Trove" immediately for my kids who I suspect even with unlimited funds will still be lucky to make it past round 10 on easy, which will save me the trouble of having to play their devices to unlock stuff for them.
Great Little War Game should keep me entertained til the new patch arrives. And this Treasure Trove stuff. That's a great way to experiment with different setups and combinations. I wish you'd make it so that you could choose which round to start at too; we could push the experimentation to the max.
That's the part I'm looking forward to. There are so many abilities I've never bothered to buy because I'm not convinced of their utility/value, yet, who knows, they might turn out to be completely awesome and when the time investment to find out is virtually nil, why not?
Completely agree for those very reasons and to show further support to the Devs. As said, will the achievements register when Treasure Trove mode is active? I hope not as there are still some I've been grinding to get and wouldn't want anything less than to get them by earning them. Boy I can't wait for these next couple of updates. Will Mantis be getting an alt in the Reinforcement Pack?
I seriously doubt you could do achievements in this mode. It would defeat the whole point of having them as achievements. Unless FM overlooked this.
So... I guess we don't have to worry about not being able to sync save games of Bug Heroes across our iPhones and iPads anymore, eh, FM?
Why do you care how someone else gets the achievements? It doesn't affect you at all. It's still exactly the same experience and fun (or not) to get them for yourself.
