I've had some freezeups on Garden today, when it announced the start of a new round. Then I would exit the app, restart, and I am in the pause screen. Weird.

Boo hoo! Round 92 and my base got eaten up - I was rescuing some slaves and did not realize my food was that low. After 2 hours and 55 minutes, it was time to quit anyway! 402,770 points, and 57 quests. Still didn't get the sniper tower achievement - I decided to go for the purchase all abilities for every character in a game, but didn't make that either. #39 on the easy board.

Well, I got the achievements I wanted so time to try it on normal or hard for garden. Seems like worm, fly, and termite are a good combo for me!

Are you working on just unlocking achievements or trying to land a spot on high score, or both

btw, to answer your previous questions..Yes,you do get money from nuke as long as you switched back to Fly. Though I'm not sure if update took out that option but it should be still in the play.

Also, have you tried Fly's Drunkard + mushroom? That combo can do most of the damage even without spinning shot.

Alright, time to have some fun. Gonna try Fly, Stick, Spider!

I had Ladybug in Office. Round 125. I started using her less and less as the game went on, and wished I picked Beetle or someone else instead. I got the 2nd spot, even though I was 10 rounds ahead because I couldn't afford accepting quests when Ladybug became obsolete.

Btw, I had Beetle once instantly killed by using Earthquake Jump whilst surrounded by Spike bugs. lol.

90% sure. Mushrooms only seem to affect physical attacks, and a few physical abilities like Spinning Shot, Hopper Kick, and probably Executioner.

I am trying to see how far I can go - however, when it seems like I am closing in on another achievement, I push to get that. Though on one hand, I might sacrifice a game that might have gone longer by switching out some towers to get an achievement. At least until I get it. Firecracker seems the hardest, as the few times I have tried that tower, it didn't seem to help a lot. Machine guns were easy in comparison, as all four fully upgraded works in the game - but getting more than two sniper towers seems to get me knocked around a lot by all the little critters that the machine guns would normally have wiped out. But gotta try all four fully upgraded at least once.

As far as the problems with my ipad freezing every so often today - it could have been due to downloading a tv season - I always notice a lag in games or videos when something else is finishing up the downloading process - and a whole season downloading would have that happen every half hour or forty minutes or so.

Money Shot. And Drunkard + Scoundrel (+possibly Gnat Banditos) makes reaaaaaally quick work of pretty much everything if you're able to handle it.

The team of spider, stick, worm got me to round 102 but unfortunately I was slowly running out of food, even with the cultivator turret. It seems termite is pretty much required on this map for the later rounds.

On any map, it can be hard to progress beyond round 100 without Food Cultivator. However, later in the game, you have a ton of money to spare, so I would sell one of my turrets and build another cultivator, and keep it until my food stash is full, then sell it and rebuild my previous turret. When your base is under heavy attack and you find yourself unable to defend it, selling one of the turrets and replacing it with a Forcefield can be a good idea too.

    Bump.

So is anyone having crashing issues with the game on devices running iOS 3.1? (does anyone else even use iOS 3? )

Keep in mind that when going for certain tower combinations, you should also choose the appropriate heroes, or equipment if you don't have any hero packs. For ex if you're shooting for the Sniper Achievement you should focus your heroes mostly on dealing with groups of small enemies. Likewise for the FireCracker achievement you should focus on high damage abilities/heroes instead, as your turrets will cover a lot of your needs for dealing with masses of small enemies. We knew some of those would be hard, but we didn't want all the achievements to just be completed naturally without even having to do anything. imo extra achievements that you have to go out of your way to complete can be lots of fun for completionists.

We have been getting reports of some crashing, and so far we've been unable to track down the source -- so if you're worried, you might want to hold out for another week or 2 for the next update where it will be fixed (we had to revert some engine changes we made in the last update).

right now it seems that Ladybug and - of all heroes - Spider are the least popular/useful.
they are the two melee heroes that do high damage to one target at a time. but they just aren't useful enough, because, since there are such huge swarms of enemies at one time, targeting just one enemy at a time is not effective.
that being said, I think the best way to "fix" them would be to be to buff their main weapons a bunch. because eventually, if buffed enough, they would take out single enemies so fast that it would be worth having on your team...

Do spider's guns take out/hit more than one little bug at a time? If so, that would even up her abilities a bit more - IF she can tackle them from a distance.

I think a raw buff might cause some imbalances. Besides, Stick's attacks are even more focused than either of theirs, but he's currently one of the most popular heroes because of the usefulness of his abilities, which compensate for his inability to take out swarms.

No one wants a hero that's only useful some of the time, and that's precisely the problem here. Spider and Ladybug can't handle swarms very well, but unlike Stick, most of their abilities are only useful in specific situations.

It's not that we want all heroes to be equally useful all the time though, but if you think about it, other heroes are quite useful when it comes to taking out single targets. Termite, Fly, Worm, and even Beetle who is the ultimate tank, their abilities are sufficient for taking out specific targets, and not just groups, so there is no need for "assassin" heroes like Spider and Ladybug.

I think the solution would be to find a way to make them more useful in areas other than their expertise, or perhaps make them that much more effective at their jobs. Spider is specialized in taking out specific targets, so she should be unrivaled when it comes to that. She could use short cooldown abilities that let her nuke single targets one at a time, not just abilities that let her take out one target every 100 seconds; it would make her more useful in more situations, like to take out medium-heavy targets like Armored Ant and Slugs.

Ladybug is supposed to be an assassin/tank hybrid, but she sucks at the latter role, so she could use something to boost her effectiveness as a tank, perhaps an equippable weapon. In my opinion, her best ability is Piercing, which allows her to damage many targets at the same time, making her more viable against multiple bugs.

I remember someone (I think it was FM) posting that beetle regenerates even while other characters are actively being played - but the conversations introducing the Attic level state specifically that Worm only regenerates while he is being played. Was I misremembering what was said about Beetle's regenerating ability - or is he the only character that does so? I have noticed while playing that Worm does not seem to regenerate unless he is the active character though.

no, Worm is unique in that he has to be the active hero to regen.
the other heroes regen when they are not active, and some/all of them even regen faster when not active.

Okay, a mushroom doesn't really give certain abilities any extra damage bonus, but i find that maxing out a mushroom turret before round 20 is really helpful. I didnt have to upgrade any of the Laser/Zapper turret. I was able to get to round 26 easily twice on Hard without upgrading the base turrets and save more money.

My new problem is not the centipedes, but rather it's the damage that I'm taking in(in round 27). Without the food cultivator ability to heal my heroes, I didn't know how I was able to survive the whole round 27!

That's when termite's Shield ability is useful but I underestimated the overwhelming number of enemies and got pushed out of the range. That's when I died in round 28 -_-

How do I get to 30+ on Hard in Living Room? My team was Spider, Termite, and Ant.

I would definitely suggest using Beetle or Stick instead of Spider. Also maybe upgrade your Laser and Zapper turrets more, though I don't know how much money you had to work with...
