Hey, thanks for the reply... (and to Oxynidus as well) heh, 100+ (normal) was my best ever game.. normally I go down around round 30 or so. I think you're right that I was overly reliant on spinning shot, particularly to clear out the big armoured grubs in the early game. I'll give it a shot with some new strats p.s. on that note, does everyone still think spinning shot is a must have early game buy now? Or can it wait awhile?
Nah, Spinning Shot isn't a necessity anymore. I just played a game in order to prove that Fly is not essential. Living Room, Hard, Round 123. Used Ant, Beetle and Stick.
Wow. haha. I just died again on normal round ten. Centipede and Siege maggots eating up my stash. Heh, I'll keep trying
With the nerfing of Fly's Spinning Shot, I find it hard to go past Level 20 on coliseum because of the big scorpion and elephant snail. Anyone knows how to deal with them effectively using fly?
Upgrade your turrets early on. Get a couple of Zapper turrets and/or a Forcefield turret. Use Stick's abilities to protect the base (Fortify, Poison Ward, Freeze, Earthquake). Just a few tips.
Heheh... I'll keep that in mind. And I finally made it to Round 151 before running out of food. Also, I wanna update to the latest version, but my friend updated it on his 3rd gen running iOS 3 and his crashes on opening... I dunno if it's just an iOS 3 bug or what... Anyone else experiencing crashing on a iOS 3 device before I update?
On the living room map, as you progress the sheer number of siege maggots, grubs (big & small) is insane. Currently I'm on round 20 normal & I know I won't make it any further plus having to deal with 3 centipedes.
I agree with you oxynidus, I've tried using spider on the living room map & as a start to advance levels the heavy hitters come out more ( the flea gunners, flea snipers, etc) really tear spider apart I constantly have to switch to beetle to avoid getting torn apart. What turrets do you use on the living room map? & when using wizard what do you apply the skill points to first?
What level are you playing? Money Shot (to an extent), Roulette, Elephant Snail Rifle (which had been slightly buffed mind you), Spinning Shot for stun, or Scoundrel for stun are all good choices. We've had some reports of this, but haven't been able to isolate the problem yet :/ It would be a HUGE help if you could get your friend to send us his crash logs!! http://culturedcode.com/things/wiki/index.php/Sending_crash_reports_from_iPhone_or_iPod_touch_%28FAQ%29 We toned it down a tad.
What do you guys do when 4 queen ants spawn with loads of ant warriors, doesn't help that the game lags when this happens either.
Dang, nice work Hmmmm.... its literally impossible to have 4 queen ants spawn at the same time -- even assuming you were super unlucky AND accepted a queen ant quest at the same time as getting a queen ant spawn (which is very rare in itself). I'm sure you could have 4 queens accumulate over a period of time if you sat around for long enough without killing any (even then you'd have to be SUPER unlucky to get 2 waves in a row that spawned queens) but yeah... not really that feasible. Which map are you playing on and what round?
Okay so here's what happened, living room map round 25, 3 queen ants spawn immediately after each other along with the warriors then 50 secs later the 4th one spawned and note I did not get any queen ant quest. Pretty annoying as the map is easy otherwise.
What do you do? Pray for a game crash and restart the round... Just kidding - set off a nuke or an asteroid field or use a howitzer to clear the map of all the little guys, then go quickly search out the queens that may be still alive while you have some breathing room. I think I had three on the map at once - one quest and two over time during a game where I was not able to kill them before the next spawned. Maybe four Queens is kind of like a checkmate!
Alright. You have my blessing. I did notice that queens are very common in Living Room. In fact, they're the reason I lose there. Anyone else?
Yea, Queen Ants are a lot more common in living room from what Ive seen. Most of my games Ive seen at least two of them, not to mention three at once at one point. I dont know if Im unlucky or if thats how the level is designed, but I dont think it should be changed. I like the fact that it becomes a level where you become swarmed and have to make quick and smart decisons. Its a little different than the other levels and I think it should stay
