I like the concept of Phase Shift, but I could use some info on how it's stun, AOE, knockback and damage it does compared to Teleport. I wish they'd increase the price more though and have it do more serious damage. That would differentiate it further from Ant's Teleport. I used to like using it on Flea Gunners for the damage it does. I like both Ninja Smoke and Teleport for different reasons. Ninja Smoke is cooler for offensive purposes because of its short cooldown and slow effect.
Phase Shift have a longer stunning period for like 5 seconds and does more damage. Meanwhile, Ant's Teleporter may be cheaper and faster, but it does less damage. For me, Phase Shift is a better use because it can do more damage. For example in the Restaurant map on Normal or Hard, Stickbug can easily take out a large group of flies in one go, but it took Ant's Teleport and few more hits to get rid of them entirely. But i use it mostly to stun enemies so that I can use Scoundrel or other Heroes that do more damages to stunned enemies.
I think beatle's stampede is also a kind of teleport. In a straight line you always can escape even if there are a ton of enemies in front of you. It's offcourse not a real teleport abillity but in my opinion all the teleport's are a waste of abillity slots. There just not worth to be 1 of the 4 you can pick. Unless you play the map kitchen. I must say one with this game that in the beginning they helped a lot but if you can do without them, you will have an extra abillity slot. So i think stampede is a great escape option because it deals also massive damage! What do you guys think?
I haven't used Stampede very often, because Beetle's ability slots are too valuable. Warrior Gauntlet, Shockwave, Earthquake Jump, Squash Em, Colossus... They're all more useful in my opinion (I use Warrior Gauntlet when I'm stuck instead of Stampede). But that's not to say it's a bad ability. I'd probably use it a lot more often if it belonged to another hero. Teleport abilities are very important. I try to have at least one teleporter in my team in every game. Not only is it great for survival, but also for completing quests quicker.
I find Restaurant on Hard to be a very difficult map. How the heck did you get to over 100 for that map???
It took me a while to crack it. I was stuck at 25 for a while til I figured it out. Termite's turrets are extra useful here, not only because they do a nice job of taking out Hungry Bugs and those bugs that disable your turrets, but also compensate for the base turrets being disabled every now and then by those annoying slimeballs. Plus, because the map is so difficult to travel around, having the turrets spread out across the map saves you a lot of the trouble. If you place the turrets strategically, they may spare you the pain of having to hunt down Devourers and Giant Spiders. My third hero was Beetle. All those flying bugs can totally destroy you without Beetle's heavy armor and wide AOE attacks, and earthquake Jump is always a life saver. It's virtually impossible to prevent your base from being viciously attacked by all the siege bugs on this map, so a forcefield turret here might do you a lot of good. A couple of laser turrets will go a long way getting rid of all the bugs crossing over to your base and help take out dangerous bugs on the other sides like those turret-disabler ones. Say, Fours4ken Media. You sure you don't want to reset the leaderboards with the new patch? It will be really difficult for players to catch up to the current scores. Also, what round would it have to be for a flea to endure a Squash Em?
Will take a very long flight in two days. Will my scores and achievements sync OK when I'm online again?
I just made it to Round 56 on Normal Restaurant! I'm getting pretty good at this, if I don't say so myself. Again, I used Fly, Termite and Beetle. If anyone wants any tips for Normal Restaurant, let me know.
It dramatically reduces damage to the foodstash and interrupts the attackers, making it much less likely for you to lose because of your food, especially with Termite's Cultivator. It's definitely worth it in maps like Restaurant and Garden, where it's virtually impossible to prevent siege bugs from getting to your base in large quantities. The only thing that does considerable damage to the foodstash even with Forcefield is Grub Launcher. I'm not sure why.
Does it have to be leveled up to max to be effective or is it pretty effective in lower levels? Oh yeah and question for anyone. Does Workmanship for Termite affect Food Cultivator's duration, too? Sure! I used: Turrets: Zapper x2 Laser Mushroom Turret Hero's abilities (in order of how I bought them for each hero) Fly: Pickpocket, Spinning Shot, Scoundrel, Gnat Banditos. Termite: Food Cultivator, Autocannon Turret, Railgun Turret. Beetle: Warrior Gauntlet, Earthquake Jump, Stampede. (However I would suggest Collosus or Shockwaves instead of Stampede.) Pickpocket and the Mushroom Turrets go very well together, especially when hordes of small grubs or maggots attack your food stash. Just grab a mushroom (fully grown), activate pickpocket and shoot away. This is how I got enough money to buy the rest of my turrets/abilities. I usually try to upgrade my turrets and buy my abilities, I don't upgrade my turrets first, then my abilities, or vice versa, I try to keep my turrets balanced. I find that Termite is pretty useful against Hungry Bugs in very early rounds only. Just wait for the Hungry Bugs to stop spinning, then go up to them and drill 'em to death. Of course, in later rounds this doesn't work, cuz there are usually a gang of Hungry Bugs that attack at the same time, this is where Spinning Shot or Scoundrel comes in handy. Earthquake Jump is perfect when you're in a jam. Especially if there are Centipedes at your food stash or things are really crazy, just BAM all enemies on the map are stunned and you have a couple seconds to think out your next move. This is when I normally switch to Fly and wreak havoc. Like I said, Fly+Mushrooms+abilities-I-mentioned is amazingly powerful. You can rack up a ton of money, and do tons of damage. I mostly rely on Fly a lot for main combat, I use Termite as only a support hero and Beetle as a tank and for "Oh No!" moments. I actually didn't buy any turrets for Termite until later rounds, when I had upgraded all of my turrets to what I thought was a pretty good defence and had all the abilities I needed for my heroes, that way I could use my extra money to keep his turrets up. I placed them where Devourers and Giant Spiders and other annoying big bugs like that spawn, that helped a lot. Hmm.... I think that covers everything... I kind a just spouted out what came into my head haha hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions or anything...
Forcefield isn't very effective at lower levels, from my experience. I only find 2 of Termite's turrets worthwhile in adventure games. The auto-cannon one and the rail-gun one. I leave the other two slots for other abilities, like Food Cultivator, Satellite or Overcharge. We really need a list of hidden quirks and such for the various abilities, like, which ones are affected by weapon upgrades, abilities, buffs, mushrooms...etc. For instance, Executioner is affected by weapon upgrades, Hopper Kick is affected by Inspire and Holy Aura, 7-Stabs takes advantage of Lucky Stab...etc.
Yeah, that's why I don't use Forcefield, because the past fews times I've used it, it doesn't seem to do much. Guess I need to give it another try and upgrade it to max. EDIT: And yeah, that list of hidden quirks and whatnot would be very useful. No, I don't actually. I find that Magnifier Turrets are too risky, being that they only do damage during the day, and Forcefields I haven't really tried out too much. Zappers are my favorite combat turret. I love Mushroom turret.
Well, ahem number 1609 on kitchen on easy. Don't know whether to laugh or cry... In order for the game to let me post the score, I must have gotten a higher one - level 26 (highest was 29), but more quests (more failed ones too!). This time I tried Fly, Spider, and Stickbug. Perhaps I should have gone with one less used character rather than two. Oh, well, back to the mayhem!
