Finally finished level 20 with Ant on the tree trunk Colisseum (actually 26 or 29 - can't remember which) on easy. Now playing the sink level on normal - last few tries got up to level eleven, only 95 points less than the 50th score. Thanks for all those who post strategies and tips. The machine guys are the worst in this arena as they get you cornered after you use the teleport and the slugs slow you down so you can't get out of the way fast enough. What would happen if you used Ant Hole in a Colisseum level? Anything? Would it take you to a certain spot in the arena or just not work? For taking out Caterpillars, Assassin Bomb is pretty good, as long as you time it right. Assassin Cut and Ant's Plasma are great as well - but depending on what else is around the caterpillar, you want to make sure you are close, otherwise all the other creatures take up the damage instead. Then a few god cuts by spider or even some shots by stickbug and voila. So on a level with multiple caterpillars, something like plasma and Assassin bomb/cut to take down two, then the howitzer to take down the third and everything else (or you can use the howitzer first then mop up the remainders with the other skills).
Oops, I meant to say Centipedes - Caterpillars are a cinch - few swipes by spider and they are goners.
Near the end of level nine in the sink arena (on Normal), I was fighting several scorpions and got knocked just south of what looks like a glasses case on the bottom of the screen. I found I could walk back and forth there and kill the scorpion safely which was on the other side of the case. Afterwards, I realized it was a glitch when I coud walk around further south but could not get back on the countertop. About then a queen ant showed up so I killed her and most of her minions from a safe distance - intending to teleport back into the arena right after that, but then I got caught in the crossfire of two or three different machine gunners. Fun glitch while it lasted anyway.
has anyone else experenced freeezing problems lately? for me it's been happening alot lately my hero justs stops moving for for a second or two
If anyone is using Worm, I find his Slime Grenade very useful on centipedes and elephant snail. It will slow them down enough for you to take care of other business first then come back to finish them off with other heroes. Worm's multiple Claymores with early preparation can do some decent damages to them but Fly's Spin Shot + Drunkard is my favorite way to finish them off. @Mr.Grizzly Sounds like an interesting glitch. Should ought to check it out. Also, the Ant Hole takes you back to the base immediately. Very useful ability. Im on 3GS iphone. That sounds like lagging or slowdown to me. That only happened to me when I received a text or a phone call. Or jump back right into the middle of game from texting, or something. Other than that, what you were experiencing, it never happen to me while playing the game.
No, Earthquake Jump affects the entire map. However, the targets standing right next to you will get knocked back big time. I remember once I used it while standing next to a centipede, and I think the centipede actually fell off the edge! I'm not sure how, because it's not supposed to do damage. Well then, buy it again using their account. It's free. Once you download the game again from their account, try buying the IAP.
Haha. Happened to me once during Beta, they've worked hard to get it out... Game lags a ton though when out of the map.
In Colisseum mode, Ant Hole takes me back to the southern area of the sink area - so that is pretty cool as an extra "out" when you are cornered by creatures. Got the glitch again, this time I was knocked off the counter by something else, near the bottom edge of the sink (just where the narrow walkway starts south of the sink). Hey, if you have the Goggles (which I have not tried yet), does it expand the area where you can teleport to? I hate how you can't teleport or Ninja smoke out of the hole in the wall in the kitchen or out of the narrow walkway in the sink arena if you are out of site of the entrance - then you get cornered and killed sometimes.
You can teleport out of the hole in the wall... you just have to click where you think the ground is, even if you can't actually see it. As for the glitch, we'll look into it, thanks >_<
Btw, my worm got one-shotted by a giant snail at round 65. Not even an elephant snail. But I may have been using Auto-cannon. Does Auto-cannon increase damage taken? Because it doesn't say that in the description. Edit: Yes, I said I wasn't gonna play for a while, but I had a bad day.
Worm is slowly becoming useless after round 20 or so. After that, I dont use his auto-turrent anymore or use money to buy something else. It's better to keep him in reserve for his useful demolition abilities like slime bomb, claymore and nuke. Questions: Does using mushroom increase nuke damage and auto-turret? Will putting point in Demolition skill increase nuke damage?
Even his abilities aren't particularly useful, you know. They were cool at first, but I've found them less and less useful. Claymore's damage isn't that impressive—I can't use it to kill Giant Spiders for example. And, I guess I don't like mines; they always get wasted on unintended targets. Slime Bomb is useful, but not amazingly so; it's inferior to Spider Web in most ways. Nuke is the one ability that might be worth picking Worm for, but I prefer Earthquake and Earthquake Jump. Worm is fun, but I don't find him all that useful, even as a support hero. It seems that Astroid Field is indeed nigh useless. Activate it and watch your money. You'd be lucky if you killed anything with it. And I've seen one drop directly on a maggot, and all it did was knock it away. There has to be something wrong with it. Nuke, nope. Auto-cannon, yeah, I think so.
Nuke is an explosive skill, so demolition would increase its damage. Don't know about the mushroom's effect though.
Haha, Grizzly, I kinda knew that, but I wanted to be more certain so I asked. I took the advice to max out "take aim" skills first, but after a while I realized I use demolition more so I decided to max out demolition instead. So that's why. Oxynidus, thanks. I only buy Claymore for centipede but laterly, i have been buying it early to protect base. I dunno, but having claymores all over place just makes me feel better.
lol. You know, I can't remember the last time I was threatened by a centipede. They've become pretty easy to thwart.
I was using Worm, Ladybug, and Grasshopper. I had no idea how to take one down But normally, they've become pretty counterable.
