It's exactly the same on my iPhone 4 - I have to let go of the d-pad before I can activate anything which often leaves me exposed for a tiny amount of time (certainly enough time to get smashed hard at later levels!)

I always assumed it was just the lack of enough multi-touch elements within the technology, but if that isn't the case on iPad, I can only assume that it is software based.

I have the exact same problem with activating skills in my iPhopne 4.
I tried it on the iPad and had no issue at all.
Staff swapping becomes a true challenge when you try to escape.

Playing on the iPad, made the game considerably easier for me. Unfortunately I don't have one.
I wonder how many in the top 10 are on iPads vers. iPhon / iPods.

Hey now, wait a sec. I used to play the game on my 2nd gen iPod Touch before Fours4ken Media made the game Universal. :p My scores weren't so bad back then either.

I just tested it on my 2nd gen iPod. I managed to activate an ability while moving and shooting. So it might be a glitch related to the retina display or something.

By "true challenge" you mean "dance with death", right ;-)

    Well, you don't count. ;)
Your scores are more than double of the second placed player in most maps. You are an outlier.

No seriously, wouldn't you say your game improved significantly after you switched to the iPad? I certainly noticed a big difference. I found it easier to hit the right buttons, and maneuver my hero.

On a related topic, I completely fail when switching "auto-aim" off, do you use it?

Less dancing, more dying... What I ended up doing is, switch to Fly move a bit, switch back to Stickbug, continue routine. This makes Stickbug extremely challenging to play, for me at least.

Actually I just remembered I died a few times when trying to activate Spinning Shot but it didn't trigger. What I now instinctively / automatically do is; Take all finger of the display and hit the Spinning Shot button repeatedly, till it works.

Are there any real bugs that can imitate other bugs? That might be a cool character.

How about a bug that can temporarily turn to stone, and then suddenly knock everything back (even if it does not do much damage with that attack, it gives some breathing room). Or perhaps a Petrify ability that can turn other bugs to stone - slow them down or cause them to freeze for a few seconds.

If you are someone who likes inviting friends to Gamecenter to compare achievements, please pm me. I love comparing achievements.

Who are your favourite/most used characters? For me, Spider and now Stickbug. Fly is good too - but I have not tried out all his abilities yet.

    :D

FYI, my reflexes aren't really exceptional. My main strength is strategic thinking and decision-making, which is why Bug Heroes is quite the suitable game for me. :p

Well, I know that I experienced fewer unnecessary mistakes. It would make the difference in a situation where a tiny mistake would cost me the game. But other than that, I don't think it affected the flow of the game that much. But it's difficult to say. The next time I play, it will be on my iPod as an experiment. I won't be playing for a while though, because I have some serious college business to tend to.

I did complain about taps not registering when you tap the screen in a panic. I found that the reason is that if you don't touch the screen at a very vertical angle (like if your finger slid a fraction of a millimeter), it won't register. Could that be the real problem? Because it's difficult to do a precise tap while moving and shooting. I tend to use my index finger without removing either of my thumbs.

I never even tried using it.

    I finaly beat Oxynidus

    #1 Office Round 115;) score 653015

But i took al long time, almost a week where i played in parts of 30 minutes a day. In total it took almost 4 hours. If you break the game about round 50 it becomes a routine and you just have to wait untill the bugs become to strong and can kill you in two blows. Fortunately my heroes weren't killed but i ran out of food:rolleyes:

I used Fly, Termite and Beatle with the following setups

Fly: Pickpocket (for all the money untill you have enough i switched to Quickdraw) Spinning shot, Scoudrel and Gnat-banditos

Termite: Food cultivator (most important ability in later rounds) Auto-Gun, Rail-Gun, Turret

    Beatle: Adrenaline, Stampede, Shockwaves, Collossus

    Turrets: 1 Mushroom, 3 Lasers

The mushrooms with fly's pickpocket are the key to get money and reach the later rounds. At round 40 i began to use termites turrets because my moneyflow was great enough to constantly buying constantly the 3 guns.

In the later rounds bugs will kill you in a few blows so i dont think hopper our ladybug and even spider are capable to use in battle. Beatle with his Wrench attacks from a distance and with shockwaves cant be touched by bugs, witch is essential. Fly has offcourse also en ranged attack. Stampede is a really good abillity not for its damage but it can function as a kind of teleport. Fly's spinningshot has the same function and can get you out of a crowded corner.

Termite's turrets are great and if you have 8 our 9 at the battlefield you almost can lean back from round 40 untill round 80. I never used termite to battle only to place turrets and offcourse his foodcultivator. When Fly our Beatle just had a scratch you have to heal them immediately. So they always are in good shape and can take a hit but never take the risk for more hits in later rounds. This is where the foodcultivator becomes really important because you are constantly healing youre heroes and the food becomes almost depleted in later rounds.

Mushrooms are essential for moneymaking in the first rounds. But later on you can use them to complete quest as kill the queen... etc. because you will gett a really big damage boost + speed. And a level 5 mushroom turret grows them really fast:D

Hopefully you guys can use some of my tips..

Hey, cut me some slack. I'm trying to be modest, but it's not so easy when you're as awesome as I am.
