After certain rounds, the game indicates that enemies got stronger - does this mean every regular creature has more hit points, or that now you are facing larger and tougher enemies (that you have not seen in that particular game yet)? It makes sense that if my characters can get tougher, a flea could buff up and become the next Schwartzenegger - but I wasn't sure if that was the case or not.
Agh! I made it to round 40 in Normal Kitchen and was doing great, until I went searching for food (stupid me) and I got caught in the dead-end corner by a Giant Scorpion and a couple Giant Snails... It was heartwrenching...
May I ask what Turrets you use at your base? I go with Zappers and Lasers now, and they work great. Just my 2 pennies. And YES buy Fly! I'd buy all the IAPs eventually, they're all great!
HMMMM! looks like your really improving kid, i'd better start playing more my best is still round 25.
Hahaha, yep! Fly, Termite and Beetle just work so well together for my playstyle! My highest round was Round 44 in Normal Restaurant. I don't know how well I'll do once FM nerfs Fly though
Yeah, their HP and damage increases. I'm not sure about what map is most suitable, but try Yard. One thing though, don't go straight for building 4 turrets of the same type. Just build two of them at first, and leave the other two be Zappers or Machine Guns (and upgrade them when you have to), and sell them later when you have things under control. Yeah, quite a few people have. It's pretty doable on Easy.
The Mosquito. I thought it was more like Billy the Fly like the one in the scroll, but a vampire type. Awesomeee.
You don't get the full price refunded for demolishing a turret. You get the price of the Turret as it is minus a few hundred. At least that's what I've experienced.
As Oxynidus said, the only real way is to get four solid turrets and a ton of money, then sell them and buy new turrets. I did this many months back to get the Sniper and Firecracker achievements. It wouldn't have been possible otherwise. PS. You'll need at least 15000 dollars if you want to get both achievements in one game.
I tend to have the most luck on Yard, simply because I like the enemy mix. In my experience, there are fewer siege bugs, which lets you get by with sub-optimal base defenses. Also, if you want to make your life easier, buy the Death from Above pack and use Fly in your attempt, because his money-making skills will make your life a lot easier. Every round past a certain point, enemies get a percentage boost to their HP and damage. Same enemies, just slightly more health and damage. I got both Sniper and Firecracker without building other turrets first and selling. On Yard on Easy, I tend to not really need much in the way of base defenses, especially if I'm pro-active about rescuing the hostages. If I were going to rate the IAP characters, I would rate them thusly: 1- Fly 2- Stickbug 3a- Worm 3b- Termite 5- Ladybug 6- Grasshopper All three are worth buying, but if you're going to skip one, I'd probably skip the Worm/Termite pack. It probably has the best balance of fun and usefulness of the three, but neither character is quite good enough to crack my regular rotations like Fly and Stickbug have been. By the way, speaking of Stickbug... a lot of people really don't like him, or struggle with him, because he takes so long between attacks that a single miss can be a killer. Personally, I use auto-aim, which takes away the chance of missing and turns Stickbug into a fantastic hero, one with far and away the best regular attack in the game. Now, auto-attack isn't for everyone (some people might think it's cheesy or cheap), but personally, I think it's very useful because it lets me focus more on the left stick, which is the stick that actually keeps me alive. It's got plenty of weaknesses (limited range, no way to target individual bugs), but for my playstyle, the tradeoffs are worth it. Others' mileage might vary, but I would suggest that anyone who is struggling give it a whirl and see if it doesn't suit their playstyle better, too. Most importantly, everyone who hasn't given Stickbug a fair shake because they have poor aim should try auto-aim at least once to see what a force of nature the little stick really is.
If you keep swapping between staffs, Stick's rate of fire isn't so bad. The real killer with Stick though is the usefulness of his abilities, namely Fortify, Earthquake and Phase Shift. Fours4ken_Media: You might be interested in knowing that, despite the difficulty of maps such as Restaurant and Attic, the only map that remained exciting and challenging to the end after round 30 or 40 (up to 100+) is Yard. Every other map turned into routine at some point. I think the increased spawning of Queen Ants and Grub Launchers specifically kept me on my toes the whole time, because no matter how powerful you are, they remain a challenge.
I just made #2 on hard in Attic, I have one observations to make: If you do it like Oxynidus suggests, you will succeed. My strategy: Heroes: Fly (main) Stickbug (support - Fortify & Damage) Termite (support - food & turrets) Build: Zapper Turret Zapper Turret Zapper Turret Spinning Shot (Fly) Scoundrel (Fly) Delete Machine Gun buy "Mushroom Turret" Pistols (Fly) Drunkard (Fly) (Oxynidus does not use Drunkard, but I found Drunkard + Mushroom + Spinning shot = instant kill of Elephant Snail ~ level 20) ! Be cautious Drunkard is very tricky to use, I died the first few times using it ! Food Storage Fortify (Stickbug) Mushroom level up Bigger Pistols (Fly) Barter (Fly) Full upgrade Mushroom Food Storage whenever I had excess food Food Cultivator (Termite) Earthquake (Stickbug) Asteroid Field (Stickbug) Full upgrade of all 3 Zapper Turrets Gun Turret (Termite) - close to food stash Bomber Turret (Termite) - close to food stash Railgun Turret (Termite) - close to food stash Talents: Fly: 1.Speed 2.Theft 3.Chance 4.Health Stickbug: 1.Mana 2.Focus 3.Spell Blast 4.Health Termite: 1.Workmanship 2.Optics 3.Static Discharge 4.Health In 56 Rounds I completed 43 quests. What killed me were: sleepiness + Grub Launchers. Oxynidus, how do you endure to get over level 100? I was so relieved when I finally died. Mushrooms are amazing, not just for Fly, but also for Stickbug. I am not 100% sure about it, but I think spells like "Asteroid Field" also get a damage boost from the Mushrooms. Maybe this will be helpful for someone, with the coming update this strategy will certainly be seized it's usefulness. It is very late here in Japan, I apologize for all errors in the post.
You guys play these huge games in one sitting? I'm on round 40 something, garden, but I've been playing this game for a few days. Back when I was still doing easy mode I got into the 100s, but I was on the same game for a week.
I play while watching movies or TV shows. I pause when I need to focus. It keeps me from getting bored of either.
Reaching up to 30 rounds takes only less than an hour. Up to 2 hours in a day but to reach past 100th round, I cant imagine. I just finished 54th round on Normal level in Playroom in a little over an hour. Fly is really devastating with Drunkard + Mushroom + Spinning shot combo. Next, onward to try out the same map on Hard...
For those who got all four of certain turrets, what round were you on? Also, have you levelled up all characters to level 15, and wht round were you on then? Anyone get these achievements on Normal or Hard? I haven't gotten them yet - but am definitely doing better and better now that I have more variety in my turrets (based on someone's suggestion): one zapper, one or two machine guns, and one or two snipers.
Pretty much all achievements can be done on Normal and Hard. I very often level up all my characters to 20 in my long Hard games, and sometimes I have an excess of $10,000 towards the end, enough for me to complete the turret achievements.
I don't know if it's just me, but I can never get my game to activate skills while I'm moving. I have to come to a complete stop, then trigger the skill, then start moving again. This makes swapping staffs doable, but not always fully practical. I really don't get how you're not addicted to Money Shot. It's a spammable ranged Squash 'Em. What else are you going to do with your money?
Odd. I've never had trouble activating skills while moving. Then again, I'm playing on an iPad; the buttons are larger, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I like Money Shot. I just prefer sticking with Scoundrel and Spinning Shot for obvious reasons, and Banditos for their passive bonus plus their sustained active ability which I believe is affected by Mushrooms (and maybe Scoundrel?), and finally Pick Pocket, which I substitute with Quickdraw later, which is extremely powerful when combined with all the other skills, and the slowness it causes can be a life saver when you're entering heavy-fire zone. The thing about Money Shot is that like most abilities, it doesn't scale, and once I can afford to spend money on ability usage once I've upgraded all my turrets and bought all my abilities I need (round 40 maybe?), Money Shot isn't quite as effective as it was earlier in the game because of enemies' increased HP. So like, when facing a queen, I can either use Money Shot to take out half of its HP, or I could use Quickdraw and charge her with Spinning Shot and Scoundrel. That would definitely cause more damage if you ate a Mushroom. If not, I can't tell for sure if it does less or more damage, but I think it's at least comparable. I just prefer Quickdraw because it doesn't cost anything to use, and because it can be a life saver. I don't think Quickdraw is actually better. It's just a preference.
