I tried the Banditos and I was highly unsuccessful with them. I found that Drunkard seems to stack with Scoundrel making it 4x the base damage. - This is how I make my money / kill Elephant Snails. It took me about 30 min to train my brain to deal with the reverse controls, but it is the only reason why I made it in the top 10.
Banditos are mostly useful against swarms of smaller bugs. I activate Pick-Pocket, Banditos and Scoundrel, and get tons of money killing small grubs, fleas and other small ones (And big ones if Mushrooms are available). I believe when Banditos are activated, their bullets are more powerful than bigger pistols', judging by the sparks I get attacking large grubs and armored ants. Drunkard might be more powerful, but it has no passive effect, and can get you in serious trouble if you're not careful with it, but it seems like a valid substitute for Banditos. To be honest, I've been avoiding Drunkard, but now that I think of it, I wonder if it affects Elephant Snail Rifle. This is the thing I like about Fly. All his abilities are very attractive in their own way. I wish other heroes' abilities were similarly interesting and useful.
Any tips please? I really struggle... not sure why - I play as mostly spider (upgrade his weapons, get the bomb and assassins cut) and occasionally ant for teleporting back to base and healing... and try to have a mixture of levelled up towers. Take on almost all side quests unless I'm being completely over-run. Always die quickly
Focus on upgrading your turrets first, and only buy abilities and upgrade weapons when you need to. Keep some money with you so you could buy abilities that allow you to complete quests as quickly as you can when you need them. Like if you accept a coin collector quest, buy Teleport so you can get to them quickly. Don't accept quests that you can't handle, or you'll end up in big trouble, because when you accept a creep killer quest for example, more enemies will spawn for you to kill. Also, keep some pocket money in case you need emergency abilities when you're about to die or lose, like Earthquake Jump. No need for too much variety when it comes to turrets; just focus on Zappers and Machine Guns for now, until you're more experienced. Focus on upgrading Spider's speed so you can complete quests and gather food as quickly as possible. Don't forget to use Beetle against small bugs; they can tear Spider and Ant apart, but Beetle is nearly impervious to their attacks, especially if you upgrade his armor.
Dear FOURS4KEN Media, I know you guys are busy with a new hero, new maps, new skins / abilities, how many developers do you guys have on staff!? BUT, I still have an feature request... You know how the first 5 rounds are mind numbing boring? Well, wouldn't it be nice to jump right into action? There are two solutions I could think of 1. Speed everything up, make the game 2x / 4x times faster (just like "Flight Control") This would require you to add some kind of global time variable to every instance of an timed event. Weapon cool downs, animations, bug spawns,... I don't know what your code looks like, but this seems like a lot of work. 2. Allow users to start from level 5 with a fixed amount of money and talents (less than you would get from doing all quests) Obviously I would prefer the "speed up" variant, but if 2. is easier to implement, I take what I get. I guess quite a number of players would appreciate this new feature. PS: I quite my WoW account because Bug Heroes is more fun... I am still looking for the button that lets me send you 150 USD a year
I don't know how i can play this game without fly!!! As of now my two primary heroes are fly and ant.. I have been trying really hard to match them up with Ladybug but sheesh, Ladybug.. no matter how hard I try, will always be that lack-of-something hero. She's not bad, but she's not great either.
I am playing on hard mode... Unless you get some kind of "Crepy Killer" or "Vampire" Quest there is really no challenge, just collecting stuff, or using only one Hero. Collecting coins later in the game does become a real challenge.
Yeah this really works! Thanks to Oxynidus' advice, I used this technique. It's amazing how much money you can make! Just grab a mushroom, activate Banditos and Scoundrel and wow it's amazing... Arg. I need to vent my frustration here. I was in like round 20+ in Normal Restuarant with $1500, so I went to buy Gnat Banditos, but instead I accidentally tapped Elephant Snail Rifle... just my own carelessness, though.
Been in this thread for only almost a month but, is this normal for Foursaken not to be active in this forum for nearly a week? Was looking forward to his update/comments on the skins that he was working on. I would like to sign up for twitter to see what is he up to, but I think the website is down. Oh well!
There are a couple abilities that are always my first priority- mostly Barter, so the early food surplus doesn't go to waste, but I'm also fond of getting Spinning Shot early because it's really an all-purpose skill. After that, I always keep $1000-1500 in reserve for situational abilities, and I spend all the rest on turrets. As for what "situational abilities" looks like... Queen spawns? Smash 'em. Big siege wave? Earthquake jump. Accidentally get trapped in a corner? Ant Hole or Teleport. Food problems? Life Support or Cultivator Turret. Having trouble keeping up with the enemies? Scoundrel or Colossus. That sort of thing. Generally by round 30 or so, I will have run into most different situations, so I will have most of my situational abilities. That's when I start pumping the turrets from Lvl4 to Lvl5.
Drunkard is a really easy way to do something stupid and get yourself in trouble, but that's what Spinning Shot is for. It's a great "oh crap!" button, *AND* it'll give you yet another huge damage boost on top of Drunkard's (assuming you have Scoundrel equipped- which, if you're fly, you should always have equipped). Edit: If Drunkard *DOES* affect the Snail Rifle, and if Scoundrel does too, then that seems like the perfect use for it. Drunkard + Scoundrel + Snail Rifle = Instant Howitzer.
Yeah sorry for the lack of activity recently... we're working overtime on our next "big" project... can't really comment on it quite yet Oh, and I can give a rundown of some of the other skins, forgot about that Lets see... Snail (Ant) -- This guy is the one and only ranged tank in the game... he forgoes Ant's speed and Lucky Shot skills for Hardened Shell and Armor. Losing Lucky Shot may seem like a big blow, but with Snail it is far less important to keep smaller enemies at bay when he has such thick armor. Armor + Hardened Shell + Static Discharge is quite an amazing line of defense! Slug (Worm) -- You wanted Worm with more HPs, you got it Sacrificing Worm's regeneration ability, Slug instead becomes more and more durable with the standard Health upgrades. Worm's innate regen is still very fast, so Slug could potentially be a very powerful, less risky version of Worm, though without the ability to nearly instantly regen health like a fully upgraded Worm can. Oh, also he is also immune to poison damage Mosquito (Fly) -- A life draining version of Fly, the Mosquito is a much more survivable with a new ability Vampirism (chance to heal with each kill), and Beetle's Regeneration skill. Together, Mosquito is a fast, survivable hero. However, he sacrifices Theft and Chance... so you have to decide whether you want a more combat friendly hero with Mosquito, or the more feeble, money earning Fly.
I don't think it'd work with Scoundrel because of its very slow rate of fire. The target would have to be already stunned before Scoundrel's passive takes effect. Unless you've just used Earthquake Jump or something like that, but that's hardly a reliable way of assassinating a bug. I'm not a big fan of Barter, though I do use it sometimes later in the game if there's excessive food, but that's about it. I barely have any excessive food early in the game; I use it to keep my heroes healed up. Plus, it takes too long to make up for the $800 you spend on it, since each use will give you a maximum of $300 assuming you're carrying about six bars of food each time, and that's a lot of food to give up. I think Foursaken_Media may have gone silent because they submitted the update, and respectfully refrained from telling us so we wouldn't go crazy waiting for it like last time.
Cuuuuuurious.... That sounds awesome. Snail + Howitzer! Btw, will you rename "Ant Hole"? Now that... that is awesome. So I take it that he will still have Demolition, Boom Shot and Take Aim? I just wish he had a speed boost in place of Boom Shot (Basically two different ways to keep enemies at a distance). I think Worm's problem is more about his slowness than his low HP. But I suppose immunity to poison would be good enough. But, when you say immune to poison damage, does that mean that he could still be slowed, or is he immune to the slowing effect as well? Hmmm. Fly is extremely combat-friendly (otherwise he wouldn't be one of the most effective heroes in Tree Stump), so I don't see why I'd sacrifice money-making for even more combat-friendliness. Here's a question I've been meaning to ask for a long time: Does Giant Spider's animation seem glitchy to anyone else? Or is it supposed to look like it's having a heart attack every 15 seconds?
No! I demand content for free! Stupid greedy devs, rolling in their mounds of cash while the poor users are forced to work long hours in the mines just to fork over our money... He only does that when he appears on the screen for me, but it's still very annoying. And the animation played is the death animation.
Yeah, I just assumed it was free. I mean, it's not like they're doing it just for the money or something. We are Fours4ken_Media's children, after all.
@ Oxy -- bc Fly is now more appropriately balanced And yes, theres been that stupid dying glitch for a while. I think we've fixed it for this update.
