FM and others, thanks for the reply. So how should I use the ladybug to her max?

Aha. I could one-shot Armored Ants with a fully upgraded Fire Staff attack, without Focus, but the Rifle didn't do the trick. Still, it's not nearly as costly as fully upgrading Stick's weapon.

    Cool.

Niiice. Question though, how much armor does slime poison reduce?

Armor piercing. Nice. I judged it by the damage it did to smaller bugs.

Aha. Now it makes sense. It's not easy to "feel" the difference between upgrades.

Thanks for the answers, and sorry for being too lazy to investigate myself. :p

Just made it to top 40 with Ladybug on Hard in Coliseum. I think I'm the only one with Ladybug in the top 50. lol.

My strategy for Ladybug is need of some improvement, but what I did was forget buying defensive abilities early and decided to upgrade my Needle fully as fast as possible. It killed enemies faster for me, but even more faster with mushrooms, surprisingly. The food you find on the way will take care of the lack of defensive abilities.

Then buy Good Luck ability next if you can for more speed and massive damage protection against both ranged and melee attacks. But if you couldn't buy it in time, or if you didnt save food before facing the scorpions in round 9, buy Parry. It will stun him and let you finish him off easily, but I would try and save up for Good Luck first over Parry so that you can finish off the Queen Ant in round 10 first to make things easier.

For the rest, if you have enough money, buy Parry for the Bumblebee( I died in this round because I forgot to buy Parry while trying to dodge ranged attacks). BUT if you happen to find yourself unable to use Good Luck, buy Fencing Mask for emergency defense over Parry. Finally, buy Lunge lastly.

For Skills, I put in 3 points in amour first, then 1 in speed, then 1 in armor, then 2 in speed. Then max out armor, and then max out speed. For the rest, you can do whatever. Speed let you dodge ranged attacks easier and armor for defense.

Slot: Parry, Good Luck, Fencing Mask, Lunge
    Upgrade: Needle.

It got me in the top 40. Not the greatest achievement, but hey this strategy could work for Adventure mode. Ladybug can be very deadly when buffed with mushrooms or ability and maxed out in Needle upgrades.

    @Foursaken or anyone

Question! Does putting points in speed to allow the ladybug to attack faster?

Dude, Fly's skills are awesome. You could take away Pickpocket and Thief and he'd still be one of the best heroes in the game (provided you lowered the cost of Money Shot and Gamble a touch to compensate for the reduced income). Money Shot does damage comparable to Smash 'Em on a drastically shorter cooldown, and Scoundrel/Spinning Shot provides a HUGE boost to his base damage (he can easily keep pace with Spider in terms of raw damage output, and if you use Quick Draw he shares Spider's ability to slice through armor). Roulette is one of the highest damage skills on average if you can tolerate a bad roll every now and again. Gnat Banditos is a tasty passive damage boost. And he's capable of healing himself with Gamble. And oh yeah, he's also the fastest hero in the game, is essentially 100% immune to slugs, and his attack is ranged.

I'm actually psyched about that. I don't have any troubles with big baddies (Money Shot and Roulette!), but appreciate anything to maximize my tasty Scoundrely stun-boost goodness against standard mobs.

I hate to sound like a broken record here, but there are certain abilities on Fly that are absolutely mandatory. Spinning Shot, Scoundrel, and Money Shot are almost always my first three purchases in one order or another. Spinning Shot + Scoundrel in particular will carry you so far it's not even funny. Remember, Scoundrel essentially doubles your damage output against stunned enemies. Spinning shot has a very nice stun duration and a very nice cooldown. It's a huge damage buff. Plus, you can always activate Scoundrel itself for some crazy, crazy stun. Anyone who complains that Fly doesn't deal enough damage isn't making proper use of Scoundrel.

FYI, I don't find that Money Shot is an absolute necessity. I go with Spinning Shot, Scoundrel, Gnat Bandits and one of the following: Money Shot, Gamble or Quickdraw.

The reason Gnat Bandits is such a necessary skill for me is that it's like a third upgrade for Fly's weapons, and it's very useful against smaller bugs. And I think it improves Spinning Shot too, because I see the little Gnats shooting in the animation as well. Anyway, what I like to do is activate Pick Pocket and Gnat Bandits, and kill all the little bugs like crazy and get rich.

    That's awesome!!! :D

Hahahah me too. I always use it that way...

And that sounds great to me!

Is Gamble really one of Fly's best skills? Honestly, I've never used it. (not one to gamble I guess :p jk) But seriously, is it really powerful? If so, I should use it more often :D

Actually I'm not too fond of Gamble, but it's really useful when you're low on HP, and there's a chance it could heal you for 75 HP, or at least stun, damage and knockback enemies that are about to kill you. It's kind of necessary sometimes in critical moments, but due to its unreliability, I only use it when I have to.

Hopefully this update gets pushed through faster than the last time.

Also, whenever the skins are released, I will definitely be purchasing those. Not only because they add more depth to the game, but to also support such a responsive dev.

Ok, thanks for the tips. I'll have to try it out sometime...

Me too! This is the first game that I buy all the IAPs, or any IAPs for that matter. FM is awesome!! :D

In other news, I made it to Round 40 in Normal Restaurant with Fly, Termite and Beetle!! I think I'm getting the hang of this!! I'm #4 in the Normal Restaurant leaderboards! :D

Awesome, thanks for all the support everyone... just played a couple games with some of the new characters... man, its amazing how much of a difference it makes just switching up a few skills  The other neat thing is that with some of the skill swapping, it opens up some of the equipment to be MUCH more useful, depending on your choice. For ex shield suddenly becomes much more important for Bumble Bee, who lacks the innate armor that Beetle has. But it also makes Adrenaline a bit less valuable because of the innate speed that Bumble Bee has, just as an example...

Anyway, really excited about releasing the pack! And you shouldn't have to wait too long just fyi ;)

Just a few of the new character highlights... saw some pretty good guesses earlier :p (Note: some of these may be subject to change, so don't theory craft TOO much :p)

Roach Mechanic (Termite) -- Replaces Optics and Workmanship for Lucky Shot and Armor, and he is immune to slugs poison damage... this of course makes him much less effective with turrets, but also gives him some innate skills to allow him to "get in the fray" better and become a real combat threat. Lucky Shot + Nail Gun is an awesome combo ;)

Pillbug Knight (Ladybug) -- Basically a bigger, purely defense oriented Ladybug, replacing Speed with Self Defense, and also having more substantial Armor (ie the same as Beetle's, which is a bit better then Ladybug). With fully upgraded Self Defense, this guy can almost be a replacement for Beetle, with frequent knockbacks and incredible defense.

Katydid Wanderer (Stickbug) -- Replaces Mana with Speed, and Focus with Regeneration... essentially you're getting a quicker, more survivable version of Stickbug, without the raw power and spell casting ability. There are definite pros and cons of each, and it really boils down to play-style and which abilities and equipment you prefer.

    More to come...

    (Posting again just for reference)

Well, good news. My test with Ladybug was successful, and I say, she is quite useful as a support hero. I still maintain that she sucks in battle, but I had decent success with using her only for her abilities. Good Luck can do wonders when you're in the middle of a violent situation with Flea Gunners shooting at you and all that. I activate it, and zoom around the map with Fly for example to take down guarded targets, such as Queens, heavily guarded slaves and all those.

Of course, no need to explain why Impale is such a great ability, especially because it not only deals more damage than Squash Em, but also adds a Slow effect, which is great for centipedes and such.

Lunge is another ability that comes in handy to take out small clusters of medium enemies. I loved using it the against 2 armored ants + flea gunners in rescue quests.

I imagine Impale is a pretty useful ability when trying to slow down and take out groups of bugs, like grubs and siege maggots, but I haven't managed to make that much use of it yet.

Reposte is an ok ability to get rid of the annoying vampires on your @$$. Parry works fine too, but it's rather defensive, and my aim is to get the most out of the few seconds I take Ladybug out.

Fencing Mask and Extra Shields are mostly fighting equipment, but I suppose they can work in emergencies. I doubt I'll be using them any.

7 Stabs seems great for nuking queens, spiders and centipedes. I imagine that with a mushroom, it should be able to instantly take out a centipede or a cornered elephant snail assuming your weapon is fully upgraded, and of course, assuming the damage does increase with weapon upgrades and mushrooms. I've yet to actually experiment with it.

Currently I'm on Round 60 in Yard, so I'm not quite done yet, but the results are satisfactory so far.

I'm wondering about Zombie Ants myself. I've been searching around YouTube for em, and I've found different forms of "zombie ants", but they're not fungus-related.

I was curious about this. Isn't Bumble Bee extraordinarily slow when encountered as an enemy? I had expected him to be even more tank-y than Beetle, but even less mobile (though that probably wouldn't have made for a very interesting hero ;) ).

Sounds great! Looking forward to it plus some info on Wasp. He looks like a hovering-type hero.
