HOLY CRAP! *eyes pop out then head explodes* Like what the heck seriously!!! That's INSANE!!! How much will these cost?!?!?! (Ok I'll try to calm down... breathe in... out... in.. out)
All the alternate skins will be included in one $0.99 pack. However you can only be the alt versions of heroes you already own (so you get more value the more hero packs you own).
Their resilience allows their numbers to grow larger I guess. Eitherway, it gets really tough killing even fleas at later stages with Hopper. I played with Fly, Hopper and Ant, and got to round 50-60 in kitchen, and spent plenty of time experimenting with them. I did some experimentation with Holy aura + Inslire + Mushroom. Sick damage.
Only one buck!?!??! That is AWESOME!!! Oh man, FM has done it again! You guys are amazing!!! I can't wait to experiment with Bumblebee! I mean, the raw power and strength of Beetle with upgradeable Speed?! That's awesome!! Incredible! I can't believe my eyes! Ok calm down.... Anyways, so I'm guessing: Bumblebee: Alternate of Beetle Snail: Alternate Ant Pill Bug: Alternate Ladybug Mosquito: Alternate Fly Yellow Flying Bug: Alternate to Spider (Does this mean that this new alternate can fly over poison like fly?) Slug: Alternate Worm And Alternates to Worm, Hopper and Stickbug! WOW
- Ant= Snail: Defense., slower? - Beetle= Bumblebee: Speed, less defense, strong attack, wider aoe? - Fly= Mosquito: Health regen from kills opposed to making more money? - Hopper= Bruce Flea: More speed, stronger attacks, less armor? - Ladybug= Pill Bug: Critical damage, can attack more than one enemy? * Mantis=??????????????????????????????????????????? - Spider= Wasp: Can fly, less critical? - Stickbug= Grasshopper Monk (per scrolls?): Speed upgrade, more defense? - Termite= Cockroach: Speed, poison immunity(he is a roach)? - Worm= Slug: Defense, poision immunity? Not sure the brain can take in this much at once. The question of the day....
Will they have their own presentations (the dialogue that occasionally occurs at the beginning of a level, offering up some backstory on a hero, and reactions from some of the other bugs)? This might sound bizarre, but I actually enjoy the Bug Heroes world from a perspective of dramaturgy and writing, as well as the backstories of the heroes, sparse though they may be. There is a peculiar, humoristic but dark drama to this miniaturized japanesque-chinaic samurai bugs and ninja insects universe, and I'll be hoping for an extended story mode with more of all the fluff at some distant point in the future, be it IAP or sequel.
Crowd control was the wrong term. I meant more her ability to kill crowds. While it's true she has no trouble surviving among hordes of fleas, the simple fact is that she can't kill quick enough to keep up, which means I'll never use her against hordes of fleas. It kind of makes me question what her purpose is, because she seems like some sort of hybrid between Beetle and Spider that's not as good as either- sort of like a faster beetle with no crowd-killing capabilities, or a more durable spider with lower damage output. I think that's handy for a mode like Colliseum, but in Adventure, I prefer specialists because I can always switch bugs at a moment's notice to shore up my weaknesses. I want bugs with strong, clearly-defined strengths... not bugs with minimal weaknesses. I don't think the answer is playing with the turrets. The turrets are what they are. They're too expensive to rely on heavily unless you're using fly... but if you make them cheaper, they'll just become ludicrously overpowered when paired with Fly. The only solution I can see is to buff Termite's non-turret capabilities. Make it so that there are two potential ways to play Termite- either Turret-Heavy (if you've partied with Fly), or Turret-Lite (if you haven't partied with Fly). Because right now, the two ways to play Termite are Turret-Heavy or Switch-just-long-enough-to-activate-food-cultivator-and-then-switch-back-to-a-bug-that-isn't-completely-useless-when-it-comes-to-killing-anything. Just my $.02. Another thought I had would be to actually *BUFF* the turrets and make them free, then set it so that the turret duration is the same length as the skill cooldown. That makes it a much, much more interesting decision. Want a turret? Fine, there's nothing stopping you... provided you're willing to sacrifice a skill slot for it. You can have up to 4 turrets out at all times without having to micro-manage money... but it means passing on skills like Food Cultivator. If you want Cultivator, then get it... but that means one less Turret you can use. That change would also force you to replace Termite's level-up skill that increases turret duration, though.
No hero is perfect. I've found that Worm+Ladybug+support hero is a very powerful combo, and can clear crowds, tank, or fight individual bugs. As I said earlier, Ladybug is a cross between Spider and Beetle, but is very close both of them. She is not as good as either, but if max upgraded, is more than comparable. She is basically a high damage hero for Beetle users, or a tanker for Spider fans. Agreed. Most notably, Termite's drill upgrade is crap and a complete waste of money. It seriously needs an passive ability, and a damage boost.
This idea actually doesn't sound bad at all(though I know it's a slim possibility it would ever happen). Having Termites turrets setup like Ant's porta turrets would be good, but at a cost of a high-set initial price. You can shorten the duration slightly(or keep it), and you can get two of the same turret type at once like Ant's in-between cool downs. Lower the damage across the board to balance the turrets out, and it would make other skills look more intriguing to make use of opposed to just spamming turrets. To me it sounds like an option worth at least testing because it would open up more skill options/combos other than the more obvious setup with Termite that I(and probably a lot of other people) use which is Railgun Turret, Autocannon Turret, Bomber Turret, and Food Cultivator. It's way to easy to spam those and never really use Termite as a hero as much as the other two choices in most game sessions. I try to use him when I can, but at the end of the day this is how he ends up. No complaints, but I know he could be more fun to play as and less reliant with fly with a little TLC which I'm glad to hear your currently working on.
Okay, I regretted coming here. Alternate skins and alternate skills? It's too much and my head is going to explode from all this. Whew, man. Updated: I personally love the Knight and Bruce Lee skin. The flying wasp(wish it was a dragonfly instead) and the bumblebee also look great, but not feeling the snail and slime skins. Then again, maybe its just me and my dislikes for slimes and snails in BH game. Funny thing is I was checking out the scrolls in the game last night: Ant = Red Ant skin Beetle = Bumble bee skin Fly - Billy the Fly skin Grasshopper = Bruce Flea skin Prayer Mantis = Chuck Mantis skin the rest I have no idea.
Hi FM, is it possible to have the character select screen display the skills of the characters before the game starts?
Foursaken, I would get in line to hand you guys my money. This new skins thing, on top of the mantis, included with all the extra content...brilliant.
Oh, you sly devs, you! I think I might finally be on to the Next Bug Thing™... Yeah. Toucharcade's forums are *filled* to the brim with responsive devs going beyond the imaginable distance to communicate with and receive ideas from players, but I canna think of a single one (nor even that Ryan fella ) as dedicated as Foursaken Media, nor any as invested in their own game, patch- and content addition-wise...
