There's already a guide, courtesy of K?!. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=79560&highlight=heroes I find that upgrading fly's theft skill is pretty good, but you may want to put some points into speed before maxing theft. Speed makes traveling around the map faster and helps you dodge attacks.
Ah, thanks! Just noticed that the guide still havent update with more info on other characters like worm or stickman. Well, it doesn't matter, because I only want to know whether if the pickpocket ability will still be in the play after activating it and then switching to other character? I kept getting killed in the Restaurant at normal level because I was trying to hurry and harvest more money before those 3 bugs with knives and folks come at me. Had to spend on worm's autoturrent and nuke to last till round 15. It's hard and yet so fun. : )
If they ever develop online multiplayer (and I highly doubt they will ever have the opportunity to, judging from comments from the devs), I hope it includes both coliseum co-op and player versus player, and adventure co-op and versus. Anything less than both co-op and versus for both modes would be such a waste of potential. I know I'd mostly stop playing other iOS games altogether if such options were available
If used as a support character, Focus and Mana, exchangeably. In these cases, I only switch to Stick to lay down wards or blast the surface of the map with AoEs. I did have (comparably, since this is me playing ) great success investing in Focus and Spell Blast, and using Stick as my main (and nearly only) defender. I don't know if this is a commonly accepted truth around these parts, or just me not handling the other heroes well, but when maxed out with full Focus and Spell Blast, the best staff, Protection Ward, and a few AoEs (Asteroid Field and Freeze), Stick could take down both groups and hordes of smaller enemies (partly thanks to AoEs, but mostly actually due to the explosive effect of his Spell Blast), and the big'uns (combination of high damage, and Freeze). And keep himself healed with the Protection Ward. It was surprising how well he played when used like this, and made me revise my perception of the character.
Am I the only one who think adding combat text to this game would be awesome? so you see dmg and stuff like that.
Don't forget Bluetooth co-op/versus for each mode! That'd be sweeet! Agh I still can't make it past round 18 on Restaurant. :/ Anyone have any tips as to which hero to switch to when those annoying Hungry Bugs come at like 2-3 at a time?
Yeees... glad to hear someone finally gearing up Stickbug to be a primary force He CAN be much more then a support hero... you just have to specifically gear him up to be like that. Ant with Entrench is one option. Stickbug with Wind Staff is another good option as well. The really big heavy weapons like Worms Autocannon and Fly's Elephant Snail Rifle can take them down quickly... Fly's Money shot is a good choice as well. Spider Pistols work well. Ladybugs Lunge can kill a group in one well placed blow. Any poison attacks ignore armor and do good damage (Stickbugs Poison Ward, Worms Poison Grenade, Spiders Poison Cloud, etc). Hope that helps
Awesome, that does help. Now I have more options to choose from. I have used Money Shot and that does work real well against them. Thanks! Oh and what are soome good uses/abilities for Ladybug? I've only used her like one or two times, any tips would help!
If you're look for pure damage, Lunge, Impale, Seven Stabs and Riposte are all huge damage dealers. Impale does 1000+ damage (over time), so its a great "fire and forget" weapon against things like Queen Ants, Giant Spiders, and other Large nuisances. Seven Stabs can either be used to clear out a bunch of small bugs in front of you, or if you can pin an enemy against a wall you can use all seven stabs to do massive damage. Riposte is tough to use, but its one of the fastest ways to deal heavy damage with such a low cooldown. She has a bunch more abilities that I love too... you can tank very well with her if you use Fencing Mask or More Shields (tons of invulnerability), and with her various parries -- IF you have the skill -- you can keep her alive almost indefinitely I will say she is a bit more "skill based" because of her parries, but if you can master them she can be a quite a force.
Pickpocket only works when Fly is the active hero. However, you can use delayed attacks (Worm's nuke, Ant's mines, Stickbug's spells, etc.) and switch to Fly to get the extra gold per kill.
s This I came up with this tactic on my own on the fly last night. No pun intended. Another teamwork favorite of mine is that I love using stickman and grasshopper...it's like they are made for each other. I would use grasshopper's hop and stickman's teleportation as a great crowd-clearing combo. First, I would use stickman's phase shift to stun the enemies and then activate the lightening. Then I would switch to grasshopper to keep clearing the crowd and let him remain there until every bug is squashed. If I ever get in trouble, I use stickman to teleport me out. Great teamwork . @ D I didnt use Stickman in my team this time for the restaurant. It was a team of fly, grasshopper, worm. I found that Grasshopper can dominate other map but not in this one against the hungry bugs in the early rounds(the one with folks/knives). At least Grasshopper's ability to increase food drops is really useful, but the Devourers are killing me. I need termite but I also need fly for traveling and money making. Also need worm for nuke and auto-turret. Cant decide haha.
Sorry. I recently started playing Minecraft and as a student, I have to study for finals. I just don't have enough time to max out each hero and write descriptions for all of them. And, the guide is almost out of space (~36,000 characters with a max of 4*10,000) so I'll have to deal with that as well. I'll try to get worm up tonight. Well, it doesn't matter, because I only want to know whether if the pickpocket ability will still be in the play after activating it and then switching to other character? For worm, try using bayonet in those situations. Grenade is also cheap and powerful and works well. When hungry bugs come, use a teleport ability to get out: Phase shift (Stickbug), Hop (Grasshopper), Ninja Smoke (Spider), or Teleporter (Ant). If you have slow heroes or won't be able to escape, but still have some space, a tremor bomb will stop hungry bugs in their traps. It won't push them back, just prevent them from moving, so it must be used proactively. Then use Worm's timed bombs or a ranged attack to finish them off. If you are going to be hit and are out of abilities, try not to get cornered and take damage with your strongest hero. Autocannon and nuke are far overpowered for round 15 and probably not a good deal. Claymores are one of my favorite abilities and can be used to disperse crowds or stop them from forming. Grenades is also great if you're short on time.
Who said anything about six heroes on screen? I was thinking about a two-player co-op Colliseum mode- no turrets, one hero each, no swapping. It'd also be the easiest multiplayer mode to balance. Trying to balance PvP (or, more accurately, BvB) would be a nightmare. While I appreciate the plight of those who own second-gen devices and greatly respect Foursaken's desire to make Bug Heroes accessible to the broadest audience possible, I think at some point older generation devices become a bit of a handcuff. What's the point of having all that extra processing power if you're never going to use it? If they did develop co-op, they could stick a "Warning: older devices have trouble keeping up with multiplayer" at the beginning of it. Bug Heroes will still be far and away the best game capable of running on 1st and 2nd gen devices.
I agree with absolutely everything you said. I was just preparing people for the fact, because it seems to come as a surprise for every game.
Thanks. I tried worm, stickman, and grasshopper for the restaurant map on normal level and I was able to get to 22 this time. I have few questions for grasshopper. What is the best move for the final slot? I have been using 3 moves: Hop, rocket kick and Hopper kick to clear crowd, but I dont know what to put in the final slot: healing or extra damage. Go with the Miracle Worker or Prayer for healing/restore food to defense base. Or Inspire, Inner Chi, or Holy Aura. I often find myself unable to get past round 22 because I was overwhelmed by 2-3 centipede, Elephant snails and hungry bugs.
