you may not have unlocked teleport yet, as you have to reach a certain number of experience points for ant. but if it has been unlocked, do the following to use it:
when playing a game, tap the hero. then tap the "equip" button under ant. scroll down the list and tap on the "$400" button under "teleport". resume the game as ant, and tap on the teleport button on the right side of the screen. then tap on where you want to teleport to.

I tend to go for 1 mushroom (1 mushroom is fine. 4 is cheating) for emergencies and quests, 1 zapper, 1 forcefield and one turret depending on the need (Another Zapper is fine if you're not sure what to get).

There are a few options to take out the hungry bugs:

Spider: Kill them quickly while they rest.
Ladybug: Parry their attacks and stun them.
Worm: Kill them with your regular attacks + Auto Aim, or better yet, Auto-cannon.
Beetle: If you're surrounded, use Warrior Gauntlet. If there are a bunch of them at a distance, kill them using Shockwave, and maybe Adrenalin with it.
Ant: Howitzer can take out a bunch of them, and Entrench can be used to keep them at distance while damaging them.

It depends. There are varying levels of armor-piercing. Spider has almost full armor piercing, allowing him to take out the most heavily armored bugs with ease. The only thing that Spider can't cut through unless you fully upgrade his weapon are butterflies, and of course, fleas and armored ants in defensive stance.

Lol, really not a fan of mushroom - i think hungry bug is the most dangerous from all the enemies exist, and too much obstacle in restaurant stage which reduce the sniper n laser turrets effectiveness

... or else you should just accept that we make comparisons against an ever-shifting baseline. If I hear a song on the radio I don't like, I can say "this song is terrible" despite the fact that it's in the top 1% of songs ever written, because I'm not comparing it to every song ever written, I'm comparing it to every song on the radio. And I can look at a 6'1" basketball player and say "that guy is short" despite the fact that he's in the 90th percentile for height among American men, because I'm not comparing him to American men, I'm comparing him to NBA basketball players. And I can look at an RB who ran a 4.60 40-yard dash and say "that guy is slow" despite the fact that he's easily in the 99th percentile for speed, because I'm comparing him not against the average adult, but against the population of NFL RBs.

In the same way, I can play a game in the app store and say "wow, that's a pretty average game" because I'm not comparing it to that garbage that Jimmy created in 4 hours for his high school computer science class, I'm just comparing it to credible games made by real developers with a real development cycle and a real development budget.

I got it by starting with a 2 MG, 2 Firecracker build and then saving up money to replace the MGs. I also only bought 5 abilities (Life Support, Teleport, Better Base Guns, and Howitzer for Ant, Squash 'Em for Beetle), which helped expedite the saving. I used Ant 90% of the time, only switching to Spider to race around and grab food and to Beetle to use Squash 'Em on Ant Queens and Centipedes. I chose to focus on Ant because of his versatility (Life Support and Teleport were mandatory, Howitzer gives him amazing power against both hordes and beefy single targets), and because his ranged nature meant that I was able to avoid damage altogether, which eased the burden on my food stash. You could probably do it just as easily focusing on Beetle and getting his Shotties, but ant worked well for me.

You could all accept the fact that most people just rate games based on their general impressions with no specific rules; the unconscious mind just automatically picks the criteria for judging a game, and people rate the game(s) based on how they feel about it regardless of how good or bad it is compared to anything. You could all try to formulate logical rules about how to rate a game, but in the end it's all irrelevant, because it's all subjective, and there is no objectively right or wrong way to do it. Case closed.

Late in the game, I just caught wind of the Praying Mantis contest, and I'm not liking the "strongest, most powerful of all the Bug Heroes" fluff text, should it happen to be indicative of more than just fluff.

While perfect inter-hero balance is probably an impossible dream (Blizzard are still balancing Starcraft after 13 years), the fact that Bug Heroes strives towards it can be seen and felt when playing the game, and contributes immensely to the variation, since all heroes become viable in some contexts. And, while I don't think Praying Mantis could replace all heroes, just invalidating one of them through superior power would be a dang shame.

Besides, I thought the honour of the no. 1 Bug Hero would belong to Bruce Flea ;)

Ah, dynamic. "Use Spider" is what I'll be taking away from you reply ;) Thanks.

Just Crack Ponds (Hard) wave 60
With no mushroom tower at all <<< just ever use it once on 1st bought iap and im not a fan of it

    Tower : Laser,MG
    Zapper,Laser

    Hero :Fly,Beetle,Worm
    Quest completed : 60

I was lucky enough at the start with 3 10 coin collectors quest which make me rich enough to buy some skills at 1st 3 waves

    Hero skill
    Fly:pick pocket,spinning shoot, quick draw n, scroundel

Beetle : eartquake jump, smash em, collosus, adrenaline <<< just use bettle for stunning others skill bought cause i had plenty cash to spend

Worm : nuclear, claymore, granade, slime bomb <<< put claymore all around base to protect u from centipede, scorpions, crabs and any other melee insects
, slime bomb is very useful as spider webs sub and more effective since poison reducing armor
    :D

Fly are great hero since most of his skill are bost his damage so mushroom tower are not needed  my fave afterall

Actually i can reach farther level, my fly n worms died by turtle while im sleepy lol

    Termite too expensive on hard

I found that termite works well on hard- but is indeed expensive which is why I pair him with fly.

The combo worked well enough to get me #2 behind Oxynidus in restaurant and garden.

I tend to use fly for search quests, making money, and money shot: which takes out a hungry bug.

In garden, I just couldn't do without ant's teleport to get away from brown recluses.

How do folks compare the forcefield and the zapper turrets?
I tend to use zapper, 2MG, and either laser or mushroom.

Whoever topped my million points on kitchen easy: that must have been an 8 hour game. Hats off to that endurence. I don't think I'll play easy again.

That seems to be the new dominant paradigm in how success is measured in the insect world ;)

Hey guys, quick update on whats going on with Bug Heroes in the present and future.

The maintenance/exploit fix update is still waiting for review... probably a little slow going because its Easter Weekend, but hopefully it should be out in the next few days. Again, that update should hopefully fix most remaining issues, including a few crashes, the sound bug some have been getting, exploit fixes, and a ton of other fixes for things that have been reported.

After this update goes live, we have a new Adventure level + some new enemies in the works. Also hopefully once the update is released the Praying Mantis hero contest should start to take off as well. Make sure to watch out for new chances to earn votes by "Liking" our Facebook posts and Tweeting about Bug Heroes.

And of course we have that top secret Bug Heroes related project going on under the radar which we'll release details about soon in the future ;)

Its very difficult to catch up with this ever growing thread, especially after the latest update!
Which is a good thing in a way, the game is being downloaded left, right & centre :D
what happened to that only one way attainable new hero / level contest?

would you kindly quote my post of answering it, its the only way I can search the answer in the simplest way possible?

Is there anywhere I can find out about the abilities of the new heroes before I purchase them?

Hey question on some abilities. For example beetles Colises ability says while equipped will provide extra damage, use in battle for massive damage.

Does that mean while I have in tool bar it adds a buff, sort of passive, but one I click it adds bigtine dmg?

    Fly:

    Pick-Pocket
Use in battle to earn an extra 15 gold per enemy killed with fly for a period of time.

    Barter
Use when carrying food to trade it in for money, up to a max of $300.

    Quick Draw
Use in battle to slow down time, do slightly more damage, and pierce through armored enemies for a short period of time.

    Drunkard
Use in battle to become drunk, doubling damage and reducing damage from enemies by half. Fly's movement will be reversed while drunk.

    Scoundrel
While equipped, shooting a stunned target with fly will do nearly double damage. Use in battle to give fly a chance to stun.

    Spinning Shot
Use in battle to shoot a hail of bullets in all directions, damaging, knocking back and stunning enemies that are hit.

    Money Shot
Spend $100 to do heavy damage to a single target.

    Roulette
Shoot a single target with a shot that does a random amount of damage, from very weak to extremely powerful.

    Gamble
Spend $100 to randomly do one of the following: heal Fly 95 HPs, damage enemies in a large area, or stun all enemies in a radius around Fly.

    Gnat Banditos
Hires two gnat bandits to fight alongside Fly, giving him more firepower when he shoots. Use in battle to pay the Banditos $100, doubling their damage.

    Elephant Snail Rifle
Use in battle to equip/de-equip this huge, high powered rifle. While equipped, Fly cannot move and shoot, and will move slower.
