Universal Bug Heroes (by Foursaken Media)

    Actually, now that the game is a lot more hero-oriented now, the tower combinations are more balanced. I build 1 mushroom tower, and the rest depends on the situation. In some games I've went for 3 or 4 zappers, like in Garden, to keep the enemies stunned and slowed, and using Fly to take advantage of the stuns. I haven''t had much luck with Firecrackers, but I'm still experimenting with them. Snipers are really good in Restaurant.

    The art style put me off of this game for a bit because I didn't think it looked that great, but I finally just took the plunge and this game is so amazing!

    I just made it to the Playroom after making it to Round 20 on The Office. Can't wait to see what the rest of this game has in store. Will definitely get the add-on content as soon as I can.

    Grasshopper cannot hop over the plates and forks in the restaurant level. Have not tested it yet, but MAYBE the wooden planks in attic level too? I feel it should be able to leap over these low barriers.

    just found a bug in the awards for heroes
    if you press lady bug the awadrs are grsshopper king etc
    if you press grashopper it are worms awards
    if you press termite it are lady bugs awards
    and if you press worm it are termites awards

    I'm not quite sure I understand worm's nuke. Can someone give me data on this?
    What's the damage? What is the range (Screen-wide? Level-wide? small range?)

    Stats pls.

    Also, foursaken, why not allow fully-grown mushrooms from the turrets to stack? : ) It would mean that, until multiple fully grown mushrooms are eaten, the player would be getting 0 benefit from those turret slots. That's definitely a fair trade-off for a few seconds of awesomeness. *crosses fingers*

    Haha. You don't get it. 4 Mushroom turrets can spawn up to 8 fully grown mushrooms (I think). The mushrooms stack exponentially, and taking 3 mushrooms allows you to totally obliterate everything in the map. To demonstrate, I bet I can reach round 80 in Office this way.

    ^^^ dude, lay off the bug heroes!!! Your slaughtering my best efforts!! Man, by double too... I love garden but got smoked by a Ron of healers, necros, giant cent's and it was dark out to sO my mag glass was bunk...

    I really do love this game... I forgot about taxs and bought the first two packs, but I really really wanted the last pack I'm short by .08.... Grrr...

    So far garden is my favorite new map, beating out pond.

    Haha yeah... a single max mushroom buffs damage by 2.5 and even increases armor piercing. 4 mushroom makes ONE ant bullet do over 100 damage... considering he shoots 10 bullets per second with a mini gun, we're looking at over 1000 damage per second. This was totally not intended. Beyond ant, you could practically one shot centipedes with spider. Yes you are trading off firepower with mushrooms buffs, but if the return is much greater then the trade-off (which it is in this case), then it has to be nerfed :p

    As for nuke, it does damage to every unit on the map, so there is no radius. It does almost 2x damage of executioner, so it is very powerful, but still not the ideal choice to take out HUGE units like centipedes and things like that.

    By the way, when is local highscore saving coming? I just completed a game and got one of my highest scores in a long, long time, but I was playing offline and unfortunately, it didn't save.

    This has happened quite a few times now, so I REALLY hope a local highscore list is coming soon.

    Are you sure? Because taking 4 fully grown mushrooms allows me to take out centipedes, giant scorpions and elephant snails in 5 shots at most at round 70. It seems more like 500 damage per bullet.

    We're not doing a local high score list right now, but we do have a fail safe for submitting scores. When you die, the game is saved right when you die, and will not be deleted until you successfully post your high score or you start a new game. Meaning, if you are unable to post your high score, you can "continue" your game later at any time, which will load your game (after you are dead) and bring you straight back to the submit score screen again. As long as you don't start a new game, you can bring up your end game submit score screen whenever you want.


    Its a lot, put it that way :p... 8*2.5*2.5*2.5*2.5 = about 300 damage a pop

    Then....stupid me. I already continued on with a new game...

    Can I ask why a local high score list isn't in the works? For iPod users like myself, it'd be a MAJOR convenience.

    I too think that a local highscore list would be great, that way if your out and about without wifi you can still see and compare to your highscores, that way you could keep playing and when you got to a wifi hotspot you could press a button like "sync highscores" and it would take your local highscores from each map and submit the highest ones to the online leaderboards. Just a thought.

    Exactly. Forgive my ignorance if implementing local highscores is a difficult task (I know nothing about developing :p), but this would be highly convenient for iPod Touch users like me who do not have internet access everywhere we go.

    Unfortunately with most things, it ends up being a much larger task then you might think (it took me -- the art guy -- a long time of the programmers yelling at me to stop asking for new features that I thought would be easy to put in to figure this out :p). Honestly, the main hindrance to adding this in right now is two-fold... is the demand actually there to warrant putting it in (considering it is a more timely task then it would seem)? and more importantly, one of our team members (the UI guy) is gone for a few weeks, meaning we can't really add in big changes like this, not right now at least.

    So it might not be overpowered if you make it stack like this: 8*(2.5*4) instead. It would do 80 damage max, and might not be worth doing 4 Mushroom turrets. That way everyone's happy. How about it?

    Thats still 800 damage per second... not a huge fan. The benefit of getting multiple mushroom turrets is still huge, if you can manage them. You could potentially be eating a maxed out mushroom nearly all the time. I like this benefit much better then gobbling up a bunch at once and owning the entire map no matter what it is or which hero you are...

    May I suggest a Eat mushroom button that appears when you hove over one? this is to avoid accidentally eating mushrooms.

    I think you're mistaken. It's 8*(2.5*4) = 8*(10) = 80 :p
