Well, I think it's because you're a bit of an outlier. What you do, the vast majority of us can't manage even when you post how you did it. Maybe Colossus + Boomsticks is very powerful, but it's not a combo that most will be pulling off with any regularity (although I am about to go see if I can and how far it gets me, a mere mortal, as comparison ) It's rarely a good idea to "balance" a game around what the 0.1% can do, because everyone else winds up with a game made for that fractional outlier.
K, colossus and adrenaline no longer affects Boomsticks. For Stickbug we're doing a few tweaks... we added a teleport ability (basically the same as Ants), and we're increasing the bounding on his bullets so you don't have to be so precise with his shots. We may mess around with doing lower damage and faster shots, but keep in mind that -- just like all the heroes -- stickbug DOES have a preferred role, which is to dish out high singular damage. I will agree perhaps he is a little bit weak vs hordes of lesser bugs, but hopefully teleport will help with that, and we increased the % that his blast skill will be successful as well. We also added a slow to enemies which pass through poison ward, which should help.
I disagree. the whole point of balancing is for the leaderboards, and so it is the top that matters. and anyway, it isn't that hard. I had never played a dual-stick shooter, or really any shooter, before Bug Heroes, and yet I was the second best player on the last set of leaderboards... this is coming from somebody that asked this:
ok i'm thinking about buying one iap for now. which iap would you reccomend getting first? do all of the new characters have the same amount of abilities and everything??
Little gutted, got round 112 on Restaurant - Easy with 40 quests done but couldn't submit my score Oh well, and I have to say Worm is by far my favourite of the new heroes. And for guys asking about which IAP to get first, I would get Locked & Loaded for 2 very fun heroes but the 2 heroes from Death from Above are also very good and easier to use.
Thanks for continuing to work on balancing the new characters. I'm really hoping we continue to get more updates with additional characters and levels once these are ironed out too.
No, every time I clicked Post it would say 'Cannot connect to server' even though all my other scores submitted with no problems.
Stickbug is great for supporting role, better than Beetle. IMO I just made to #1 (Bee) easy kitchen on the ladder board with Stickbug, Ant, and Spider. I think it's too early to tweak any heroes, everyone still testing and mastering those new heroes, any tweak will be premature. Foursaken, you did a great job by bring us this wonderful game, go take a break now, don't work too hard.
Well, I tried submitting my score and it wouldn't let me, so I exit the game, and opened it maybe 30 minutes later, and everything was erased. >_< Gonna have to unlock everything all over again. So what's going to differentiate Stick's teleport from Ant's?
Alright, this should be good news for most... we've implemented a "just in case" feature for submitting your score. Basically, if you do not successfully post your score (server not found, game crashes, you don't have internet access, whatever), then you can still load your game later at any time and resubmit that score. So if you aren't able to successfully submit a score, simply "continue" your game at a later time, and when you load it up it will bring you back to the submit score screen. As long as you don't start a new game, you can keep trying to submit your score for as long as you want.
Haha You may be right... we are only doing very small tweaks right now though. I do agree that Stickbug is the worst off in terms of damage avoidance though... he has neither speed, armor, nor high health that all other heroes have in some form (whether its innate or through abilities)... all other heroes (except maybe worm), have reliable ways to avoid damage some how. The teleport should help with this... and the larger bounding for the bullets is just a small tweak to make it a tad easier to hit things with.
just had a crash on restaurant. when I reopened Bug Heroes, the game was gone... edit: now when I created a new game, I opened an equip menu before touching both controls, and the game never started... edit2: now this is really bizarre. I quit the game since it wouldn't start. and then there was a continue button, and when I pressed it, I got back the original game I had lost. strange.
Are you serious? I know the key is nothing without the algorithm, but you're giving away half your protection. Anyways, what was the rational behind changing the garden level? I like the old version more
Lol... that string doesn't do anything towards helping anyone decrypt anything Just because you know there is an encryption key doesn't make it any easier to actually decrypt it. Its essentially like looking at ****** for someone's password to Facebook. The prototype Garden level was a) not fun, b) created serious imbalances with specific heroes (which matters now with a variety of heroes to choose) with only one choke point to your base, and c) was just not fun. Looks can be deceiving, which is why we ended up creating the entire level thinking it would be cool, only to ultimately end up scrapping it.
I bought the IAP 2 days ago and only managed to try it today . Although I tried every character in Colosseum , I only did so to look at the skills . 30 minutes ago, I gave the worm a proper chance (I saw the tip on using works about regenerating quickly if he doesn't get hurt) and man , I'm loving him If the other characters are as good as the worm then i'll be really happy . I've a few complains though . In my very short trial of every character , I found the mage guy to be pretty meh ... because his delay is so long , i have to be very accurate if not it'd be very hard to use him . and the hopper karate guy . He is a melee guy but he seems really squishy >.> Any help on this guy ? edit : okay i died when I got ganged Nevertheless , hes awesome . I'll try another character again later .
