That sounds great! Just wondering in a respectful way: any ideas/dates for that forum contest for the special hero?
We'll start the contest probably with the next update, which we're going to submit hopefully sometime this weekend The details and rules will be on our Facebook page, and will be very simple... its not really even a "contest" per se
Oxynidus' Impressions: 1) Beetle is insane with his shotguns. Got to round 39 in Tree Stump (hard). He will be nerfed, mark my words. 2) Worm provides amazing firepower, but pretty risky to play with. He needs some escape methods, or he'll remain almost unplayable in Colosseum. He's my favorite new hero. 3) I don't like Grasshopper; his skills are all over the place, and hardly excels at anything. His attacks are unreliable. I gotta admit though, his movements are awesome. 4) I don't like Termite; he's insanely expensive, and isn't impressively effective. 5) Fly's Elephant Snail Rifle is not worth its weight IMO. I like the concept though. 6) I like Stick, but he's relatively ineffective against groups, and is very slow and fragile, and there are other Heroes that do a better job at taking out single targets from a distance. 7) There's an exploit you can do with Fly where you can gain tons of money with Theft and Pick Pocket by farming small spiders. 8) I find myself forced to use Ant in most maps because of his Life Support, Teleport and Ant Hole. He's far too handy to let go of, even though I don't really like him. 9) Lady Bug is awesomeness, but I still need to figure out when she'd be most useful in my team, since she's neither a tank like Beetle, nor is she an assassin like Spider. She has trouble being overwhelmed by too many bugs, and she isn't as devastating as spider when it comes to taking out single targets in the midst of groups. There aren't enough 1-on-1 situations where she'd be ideal, from what I could tell. I'm still experimenting with her though.
I agree with alot of your statements. 2) worm is such a creative and fun character...his explosive ammo is unreal 3) i DISAGREE here, the hopper is a good alternative to beetle if you get the right skills. i mean HOP coolsdown every 10 seconds! between that and BLOCK, theres alot of micromanagement to make his survivability pretty good. and his damage and insane knockback is powerful. also PRAYER is a great skill that makes him more viable. 4) termite is my least favorite character. i dont like my flow being constantly interrupted by thinking of where to put a turret. it just doesnt flow for me, its like a chore. the fleas skills, another that cost $, are more spontaneous/instantaneous 6) i LOVE sorcerer chars, but im not feeling the stick yet. hes so fragile/slow, i end up being SO careful that i dont fully utilize him....or if i do a freaking worm pops out of the ground and cause of his speed even if i switch kinda quickly i get hammered. 8) ants combo of skills like you said i find myself yearning for whenever i dont use him. ant hole has become a supreme CRUTCH! hahah 9) i agree with you here. the fact that she still takes 25% of dmg makes her assassination limited against heavy hitters...and besides that her dmg skills dont match up to spiders for me. im still trying hard though ALSO questions, can anyone help me with these: what does ladybugs hardened shell do eXACTLY compared to armor? does hoppers prayer pause/waste time/not do anything if you switch him out during it? does worms take aim skill take effect IMMEDIATELY upon being still? as long as the left dpad is not being moved at all do you get the dmg bonus? thanks!
If I were to get 1 IAP which would be best? Could someone go thru the 3 real quick and just say which attributes each IAP has. I don't care about the maps or anything, just the heroes. I want one IAP, but not sure which.
Hardened shell reduces a % of damage (40% when maxed out, which is pretty significant) and so is effective against ALL enemies, big and small. Armor is only effective against smaller enemies like fleas and ants, as well as weaker projectiles. Hoppers prayer ability will heal regardless of whether you are selected on him or not. And yes, Worms take aim ability takes effect the instant you leg go of the movement stick. Overall, it GREATLY increases his damage Does anyone have any suggestions about what they would like to see implemented with Stickbug? You do realize Wind Staff gives him the speed of spider, and he can handle large groups of enemies with Earth Staff, right? Scroll to the bottom and buy and equip Boom Sticks when you get enough money.
Bug? I am not sure if this has been mentioned: I activate spider's "Superior Assassin" skill (spell bullet-time!)and change to ant in the middle of it, but some how, the effects are still in -- or may be I need a new pair of glasses. Report: this is #22 of all free apps here in Hong Kong. Keep up the good work, people!
Okay, great! So I need a new pair of glasses... [Edit] A very selfish request: since I use Fling to enjoy this, is it possible to add an option that move the virtual pad up a bit so that any external "joystick" does not cover the buttons any more?
hard mode is significantly harder... you guys REALLY put a focus on the quests for hard mode...and i understand why you did it but man it can be frustrating... i keep getting the vampire bug quest within 4 or 5 rounds, maybe 6...i just have built my 4 towers, a food stash upgrade or 2 (especially when food hoarder is active!!! =P), and maybe a cheap skill like hop and im supposed to fight 5 vampire bugs?!? i feel like i HAVE to take every quest because killing enemies normally gives so little gold...but i mean sometimes it just feels almost impossible...like 2 coin quests AND rescue TEN guarded slaves?!? jesus christ it requires SO much running around how am i supposed to protect my base? i dunno, just saying hard mode seems wayyy harder, ESPECIALLY early game when you get a "perfect storm" of quests
Just wanna say the grasshopper is soooo my style of hero. The Fly is badass as well! @foursakenMedia: Do you think it would be possible to let us see the cool downs of other heroes abilities on the iPad? Seeing we have so much wasted space... I would also like to see the life of all 3 heroes and the ability to single tap on their portrait or icon to switch. Right now it feels like a big hassle to do simple hero swaps.
You definitely don't have to do every quest in hard mode... we increased the frequency of them to give better players the option to take on multiple quests at once (since it IS hard)... if you take on all the quests you will be earning a good bit more gold then you would in normal. You should be able to compensate for the less gold from enemies by accepting approximately every other quest... To be honest, Hard mode was barely even really a "hard mode" before... it was normal mode with more enemy spam... but also you earned like 1.5x as much gold as in normal mode (due to the higher enemy count), which nearly canceled out the difficulty of having more enemies in the first place We are open to some tweaks though... Honestly, we would love to go back and do a BUNCH of iPad optimizations in terms of UI and other things, but we just don't have the resources at this time (especially considering the ingame UI for Bug Heroes is pretty extensive) :/ Thats not to say don't ever expect them, just not in the immediate future.
Ok I understand, it isn't too big of deal. Man those of you who aren't playing this game are so missing out. For some of the ladybug counter skills I noticed that it says "block 75% of the next melee" does that mean she will take 25% damage? Edit: I noticed a bug with the sound effects diminishing... from missing bullet sounds to missing hero voices and eventually to music only. If I force exit the app will it save my progress?
@Foursaken Media: since UI change is not likely to happen soon, I think I can adjust to that. Some missions are quite on the longish side, even in the Easy mode. So it is more likely for concurrent quests. Side note: Some time I am clumsy and careless for it is easy for me to forget that certain stick-with-one-hero-for-some-time quest is active and "accidentally" switch to another. Would it be possible to warn before switching?
Damn, I never knew that. Guess I never even tried it. Haven't had time to play with all of the new stuff that much, but I'm loving it all so far. Worm is my favorite new guy too. One suggestion: It would be nice if when you pick up a treasure chest it just popped up a message telling you what you picked up in the same way that you get a message telling you how much food you've picked up. It's distracting having to sort of drop everything and tap the screen to acknowledge that you picked something up... especially when things are a bit hectic and you dart in among enemies to grab it.
the thing i am missing in this overall great and very polished game is a bit of action, especially in coliseum mode. it's starts so slow and more important most of new heroes have very slow movements.
I was #2 on kitchen last night, now this morning I've been pushed back lower. Darn Sephiroth. Thoughts: Stickbug is fantastic. I don't use him for his attack (it's impossibly hard to aim), but rather for his excellent screen-clearing AOE and his healing circle. Termite is absolutely deadly with ant. I simply use ant's porta turrets with termites turrets (maxing out turret duration first) and place them in range of bottlenecks in the map - they make their money back in killing bugs that never make it to me (which provides the additional benefit of saving me potential health). With stickbug's regen circle and termite's food producer, I can stay fully healed and with a fully defended base for quite a long time. The only "big damage" moves I have with this combo are howitzer and stickbug's AOE, but with such amazing level-wide damage from 8 or so turrets, anything that makes it to me is softened up more than adequately. Oxy is right, though - ant is simply too valuable at the moment to give up, thanks in large part to teleport / ant hole. I love all the new bugs except grasshopper, but I haven't used him enough, hopefully.
