Thanks everyone, we really appreciate all the support! :D Its been 3 days now so hopefully not too much longer.

And nice work Oxynidus! I knew the Coliseum boards would soon be overtaken by a Beetle or Spider :)

Oh yeah, forgot about Grasshopper intro :p

So, the final hero and probably one of my favorites is the Grasshopper Monk! Using a variety of AOE kicks and punches that knock opponents very far, Hopper is best used to take care of hordes of smaller bugs. However, his attacks are fast and moderately powerful, so he is much better suited to be a slightly more "all around" hero then Beetle for ex. He also has medium fast walking speed, and medium health. His abilities are a good mix between combat and support. One such support ability is his "Self Sacrifice" ability, which will reduce Hopper to 50 HPs in return for healing all other heroes the amount of HPs taken from him. Another awesome ability is a his "Inspire" ability, which temporarily doubles the damage of all melee heroes' damage, making him particularly deadly in an all melee battle party.

Also, while he is not durable per se, he is still very survivable, due to a variety of passive healing skills and abilities, instead of using armor and sheer health to stay alive like Beetle.

AWESOME!!! Can't wait for the update!

So, now that the IAP is almost upon us, how does one actually buy and IAP and how does it work, like does you use your iTunes account credit and info to buy it? I have never ever used IAP so I'm totally new to it. lol.

Yeah, I gave it my best shot with Spider, but unfortunately I think it's virtually impossible because of Spider's lack of ability to defend himself against large groups of bugs, big and small, especially towards the end with all the giant spiders, queen ants, scorpions and elephant snails; she gets crushed easily, and doesn't have the endurance of Beetle and can't keep her distance like Ant, and the arena becomes too crowded for her mobility to be of any use. Once the giant spiders begin to spawn, that's it for her; I could not think of a way to dispatch the spiders before you get hopelessly bogged down.

IAP is essentially exactly like buying a game from the app store. On the main menu (of Bug Heroes) you'll see a new "store" button, which you go into and you'll see pics and descriptions of the 3 Hero Packs. After that you just click which one you want to buy and it will pop up a message confirming that you really want to buy the IAP. It will draw from your iTunes account and credit just like it would if you were buying a regular game... Its really as simple as that!

    Poison Cloud :p

Though, Spider should be more competitive in this next update... her new ability is "evade" which gives her a passive chance to dodge melee attacks, and Night Hunter now gives her a way to heal (+15 HPs per enemy killed). It should go a long way towards helping her survivability.

Seriously, I cant wait any longer. I keep checking the update in apps every few minutes. But the death rally thread had the dev say it's been about a week so far so his update should be out any moment. By that logic we have 4 more days to go, blah.... I wish it was a 24 Hr thing. This is one of the best games I've played ever in my life, it keeps me coming back for more. Just after months of endless play with every alt and every skill working my way to number one... I'm ready for all three packs to give me months more of gaming goodness....

    Please apple hurry hurry hurry

Whoa really? That simple? For some reason I always thought it was more complicated. :D

So what happens if I delete the app and re install it on my iPod at a later time? Will the IAPs still be there or will I have to re-download them?

    :D

We have a "Restore" button that you can simply click to bring back all previously purchased IAP... so no matter what you only have to buy them once. Also all of the IAP data is actually built into the game, so when you buy the IAP you're simply unlocking it, you're not actually downloading anything... so it shouldn't take more then a few seconds to get all the IAP :)

I am fairly certain that you can also restore the IAP on multiple devices as well, as long as they are all using the same iTunes account.

Since there's no iPad thread I am posting this here...

Will we be able to enlarge the field of view or zoom out for the iPad version in th future? The game would look so much better that way IMO.

That would give iPad players an unfair advantage over iPhone players. Being able to see more is a huge advantage. You can use goggles to zoom out on Ant, though.

But we're playing the game for fun, not to win some prize.

Yes, However scores are submitted and submitting a high score because you have an advantage over someone using an iphone is not fair thus that is why you can't have a zoom out feature.

Talk about the tail wagging the dog. You really think that policing who gets what "high scores" is more important than making the game more fun? Really??

If this is of earthshattering importance to many people (which I seriously doubt) you could have different high score charts.

The game is built on balances, and adding a zoom out would make the game unbalanced.(scores for leader boards is just one of them) If you add a zoom out option the whole game would probably have to be redone and would take the fun out of the game because it is designed so that you don't know what is out further then your character can see. This is why Ant's Goggles is helpful but not overpowering to the game's dynamics.

Well, while it's not that important to me, you must have just discovered the internets if you honestly have doubt that it's downright life and death for a lot more people than make me comfortable.

You can put out a solitaire game aimed at 5 y.o.s and there will be a vocal push for it to have game center, leader boards, and achievements within days along with 1 star app store reviews because it lacks these NECESSARY FEATURES!!!

Whether it is for you, for some, competing on leader boards is a MAJOR draw to games.

That said, as was pointed out, you really know nothing about this game with what you're asking. The limited visual range is very much a part of the game design.

Personally, I really like these features too! I find it very useful, in a game that is about trying to score high, to be able to see what scores other people are getting.

But it totally doesn't matter if it's "fair". That's entirely different. So what if some people find the game easier to play on their devices than others? There are no prizes at stake. The fact that people are comparing their scores, doesn't have to mean that they are competing. People like Game Center even if they are never going to be higher than #17438 on any of the charts.

Your crystal ball is misfiring today. Like gospel9, I'm quite familiar with the game. But if people want to argue they like the game better when you can't zoom out, I will have a different preference but they are entitled to disagree. But that is quite different from the actual argument that was made above, about high scores.

And when I see these people's highscores, I don't want to think "they're on an iPad. Maybe that's why they got that." And I don't want people thinking that about my scores, either.

    Uh huh.

With many if not most of the toucharcade members, we can consistently score extremly high. Game Center is about comparing and competing, but if you know some people have an unfair advantage, you can't accuraetly compare.

But there's another reason, and it's that without challenge, the game is boring. It would make it easier and it wouldn't be as rewarding. Plus many things are based on a relatively standard level of zoom; the rat hole, in the kitchen, for instance.

Yeah a zoom out mode would give the player an competitive advantage, but who cares seriously... If the devs really care about it so much they can let us have the option to disable scores while playing zoomed out. I compete my score with my friends (mostly my gf) not global leaderboards. Or even better, an iPad leaderbowrd.

It is just that I feel like it is such a waste of screen space, the game is actually more fun playing on my iPhone 4 since my phone is so much lighter, but it is basically th exact same view.

Ant's Goggles can give even more view in this mode.

Oh don't make it like you're so cool and he's so dorky...leaderboards exist for LEGITIMATE competitions' sake. subsequently, what's the point of said leaderboard rankings if certain players have a significantly larger field of view of the game in question?

you can belittle his sentiment for being "nerdy" but you can't deny the essence of his claim: the legitimacy of the leaderboards is diminished upon giving only certain players the option of a better visual perspective of the playfield.
