Definitely different. There will actually be a ton more variety and player choice. Missions will cycle, and there will be several types, objectives and difficulties to choose from at any given time. Some will be short and sweet, and some may take a while to complete (but of course harder missions yield better rewards). As you complete missions, you'll uncover small story and backstory tidbits, and earn stars (more stars for more difficult missions), which can be allocated into tons of global upgrades. That will also be how you unlock new heroes. While you can buy heroes with in-game currency if you want to get them up front or have some saved up, you will also unlock new heroes automatically as you earn more and more stars - so you won't even have to "spend" any type of currency at all if you don't want to. Just a reminder though, at this point things are still subject to change! As of right now, everything can be unlocked via standard game-play (see above for more details).
Also, we kind of decided we're going to slow down on hero news, which is why there haven't been as many updates. We think it will be cooler for the community to discover most of the new heroes on their own once the game is released! However, we will continue with some enemy profiles. We've got 60+ enemies, most with their own unique behaviors and attributes, making them require specific strategies to beat! First up is the powerful Pack Roach! The Pack Roach is a huge, boss-like enemy that scours the land for food and spare parts. Each piece of food collected grows both his size and overall strength, while each spare part collected increases his armor. If you don't kill him quickly, he may soon grow to be an unstoppable juggernaut! He also has a wide range of attacks, either shooting you from afar with his AoE grenade launcher, or slicing through even the thickest of armor with his serrated sword.
Until I see the return of Spider confirmed, I will care naught for the presence of any other critter of the Bug Heroes mythos!
I nourished absolutely no hope that this overdramatic plea would ever produce a developer response, and would have been kinda embarassed to post this as a serious query Good thing others have less lofty expectations of my posts, otherwise I might not have gotten a reply I also had little doubt Spider would be in. But confirmation certainly does not lessen my excitement for the game that regardless of platform tops my list of most awaited titles... (The news on the skirmish BvB and campaign modes, in particular, was a very pleasant surprise. This might not be your express intention, but it seems to me Bug Heroes 2 is designed partially to lure in those who found the high score chasing and non-persistant progression aspects of the original a tad too hardcore or challenging. Since I've not doubt that the hardcore and competitive aspects of the game will not only remain but be heightened by the online PvP, it seems that BH2 might be going for a best of all worlds kinda mesh...) Just remember to grab everything not pinned down that it might otherwise eat before you scamper. Wouldn't be surprised it it received speed bosts as well from munching down
Here we go, my main enemy returns .. Looking forward to slice her with new abilities to get my revenge for many games in BH1 lost due to her
I guess we are going to get new info tomorow.. Be it centipede, or maybe announcement of new tower or most likely another enemy
Meh, might as well just post it now This is the Bulb Snail. Though he can't attack, he will charge up for a powerful blinding attack, "whiting" out your entire screen, while also stunning anything that was too close. You can still attack and move while blinded, but it will be difficult to perform well when you can barely see Your best bet will be to attack Bulb Snails from long range, stun them, or kill them quickly before they can charge up their bulb flash attack.
A few new screens as well with some of the updated kitchen environment - keep in mind everything is still a wip, but we're getting there!
