Holy cow this game looks amazing! (Meaning the visuals, everything is so vibrant compared to the first)
I love it! So with the January release, that should be around when most of the young'uns go back to school right?
Anybody notice how the second hero is called "Pillbug" in the first screen? I though it was crab spider at first bc of the bottom pic... Unless they're pics from 2 different matches Edit: oh yeah I just saw that it said Crab Spider on the second pic, haha whoops Still, the elusive Pillbug (;
In the original Bug Heroes, I apparently can't view my own high scores offline and can't view them at all unless I submit them to the leaderboard before playing a level again. Not good. Not good at all. Offline capabilities are a must. High score games aren't my thing, but Bug Heroes threw in all this variety with skills and equipment and it's awesome. But still, I would like to actually see my high scores offline. I generally have a very poor Internet connection where I play... Also, I would rather just pay for a "deluxe" version with everything already in it. If iTunes would back up IAP like apps I wouldn't hate them so much.
A must for what? (I highly doubt that offline-capable high scores in a game that is otherwise fully playable offline is a must for success or good sales figures ) I might be remembering this wrong, but I think the reason for the server-side high scores was to decrease the risks of cheating (anything score stored locally is even easier to tamper with than online leaderboards), and to ensure a fair competitive environment. Which BH1 fostered with good success.
Can't they cheat the high score anyway? Actually, considering the game saves your status right before death when you die, so that you can later "continue," die, and submit the score... You could cheat that way. Hack your save file and make the score bigger before submitting it. So that doesn't work. It's "a must" for people who just want to try to beat their own high scores and who don't want to have to connect to the Internet every time. I live in a dead zone. It's annoying to have to go someplace where there's a connection every time I do whatever. Why shouldn't I get to keep my own high score offline and feel like I accomplished something? This is why Game Center achievements and high scores should work offline. Why should I need an Internet connection to save my own high scores and achievements? It's supposed to save my accomplishment. If it doesn't save it all the time, then it's not saving it when I get it. That makes no sense. Offline saving is a must because it's supposed to save! So what good is it if it does not save no matter what?! This "some things require online for no reason" thing must stop. I prefer my portable games to be playable no matter where I am. Because they're supposed to be portable. And saving is supposed to always happen, because otherwise you only sometimes accomplished what you accomplished, which makes no sense whatsoever.
We'll keep local hi-scores in mind for sure As far as pricing, deluxe version, etc goes, we're not sure about any of that stuff quite yet... not even sure if it'll be free or paid at this point.
D: Have you just written a suicide note Haha jk that's the same as BH1. As long as I can get all the heroes for one price it's cool with me
Ah, one more thing about heroes for iaps you should remember. Many people does not have credit card with their iTunes account - I gift apps to many friends and iaps CAN'T BE GIFTED. This would really suck if you wanted to play multiplayer with your friend and he would have this disadvantage
Well, it wouldn't be a disadvantage to have less heroes, which will likely be the main form of IAP (just like in Bug Heroes 1, and similar to H&C). Different heroes are not necessarily better or worse, just different. Regardless of pricing, you will also have to actually play to improve your heroes' mastery levels. There won't be a way to buy experience, I can tell you that much On another note, we're adding in a more robust single player system this time around, which we're excited about There will still be the classic endless and arena modes, and we'll be adding in a "skirmish" base vs base mode as well, but we've also added a sort of "campaign" mode, as a way to give players a sense of real progression, more gameplay variety, as well as the opportunity to play in more bite-sized play sessions. We'll give some more info on that soon, but I think its shaping up to be a really cool new addition!
Do I get it correctly that some heroes will be inapp only? If this is correct, could you include "upcoming heroes" inapp just as in Block Fortress for bots? (yes, I bought it, my first inapp purchase)
