I'd love to have the opportunity to play this game before it hits the app store. This game looks pretty awesome. I doubt I'll win though, but no harm in trying right?

am i feeling lucky? Extremely stoked to hear that Bug Heroes 2 is coming soon! Even signed up for the toucharcade account just so that I can take part in this promotion! Have been a fan of you guys since the first BH, and am currently playing Monster Adventures! However, a little concerned about the f2p direction - wouldn't it have been better to release with a low base cost (akin to H&C) since the basic game would already be so darn good? I'm pretty sure everyone here wouldn't mind giving you a lot of money for your work! Massively excited!!
It is free becouse BH1 was free. Back in 2011 when BH1 was released, there wasn't "freemium" as we know it today - what was free in 2011 was really free
Probably partially because of that (even though BH1 wasn't actually free originally), but probably also to foster a large community for competitive online multiplayer. F2p has become the rule for competitive online non-MMO games because there is simply no comparison in player availability and variety - which in turn means more matches for PvP and co-op, more leaderboard competition, a more involved and active large-scale community, fan pages, grassroots advocation and word-of-mouth advertising, etc. The desire to make profit might be at the heart of all this, but luckily for us, in a game like this, it necessitates a lively and numerous community.
