I think the primary reason that content will be added through updates is that Foursaken has a history of releasing more content updates (both paid and free) for their games than almost any other dev I care to remember
When I have time I'll unlock some equipment (I totally forgot I had to unlock anything! ) and try to place myself on the leaderboards That "name" is going to be a secret
We do have some cool ideas already in the works, but we never like to promise anything in advance - mainly because we try hard to make sure all of our games are feature complete, finished products at launch. Not at launch, but we're integrating it and testing it right now - so in other words, it should be in for the 1st post-launch update! We're hoping to do some cool things like tie replays into the leaderboard list, so for ex if the #1 player chose to upload his game, you can check out the leaderboards and click the replay right next to his name to watch how he did it.
Man been playing the hell out of Bug Heroes just before second one comes out. Just had my all time best.
I just reinstalled Bug Heroes Quest... I think I've stated on here previously, it is one of the few video games I've ever completed. There is a true sense of progress and character strengthening throughout the game, culminating in the huge battle at the end. I could definitely see Bug Heroes Online... a simple MMO/fort building/open world experience...with as rich as the characters are and, after the new one comes out, all of he different abilities a player could focus in on, the different classes, etc...
Important question... Has anybody called Charlie Nash yet? Is it like the "Call Apogee say Aardwolf!" secret in Wolf3d? Which Charlie Nash are we supposed to call? There are other little notes and things like that I've noticed around Foursaken games... there are some Readers Digests in NY Zombies... Gaming's unsolved mysteries
There are many different ways bug heroes could go. I could see an mmo, with different types of bugs, clans, server type houses, loot and everything.
Hey I mean, if Hello Games can make an MMO then Foursaken sure as heck can! (Well, maybe not. Haha but with the right attitude and determination, anything is possible!)
Warm-up in Playroom. I just remembered one of the most annoying things about the game. Taps fail to register too often, which can be extremely frustrating and dangerous when it happens in the heat of the moment. I think this problem might be exclusive to Retina devices though. I don't remember having this problem on my first gen iPad.
IMO BH is better on non-retina iPhones. I usually don't have any problem with iPad but I have really hard time playing it on my iPad Air (I didn't have iPad before so I can't compare with non-retina iPad) and on my iPhone 5 I keep tapping the black bars (becouse of 16:9 ratio) And one problem for both: 4th ability slot is hard to activate (this is actually becouse of retina)
Are skirmish base vs base and the kind-sort-of campaign mode still in? I really like the idea of single-playing and co-oping not only endless, but a base vs base mode against the AI, allowing for finite matches with a definite goal (if that is indeed what the skirmish mode is/was supposed to be). Campaign and the associated progression, variety, and bite-sized play sessions might just be the single most requested feature that I can remember for the original game, and would probably add a wholly new dimension to single play.
Yep, all of that is in for release. You can't play co-op skirmish though, but that might be something we look into, in the future (there is single player skirmish vs AI though). As for the single player missions, there are missions that rank from 1 to 5 stars (in difficulty). Stars earn you global upgrades, as well as allow you to automatically unlock new heroes, so there is a clear cut "goal" and progression to the gameplay this time around. The easier you beat missions, the faster it will start offering you harder tiered missions, which offer better rewards. If you're having trouble beating a certain level of mission, we detect that and keep you around a level of difficulty that suits your skill level (more or less) - so you can never get "stuck" on something that is too hard. Of course there's still the endless mode, high-score chasing from the original still in as well But veterans should keep in mind that BH2 is a bit faster paced, so endless games (in theory at least ) won't be lasting as long as in BH1. Feb 20 - we'll likely be running a few promos before then for a chance to win a pre-release copy, so stay tuned to the thread for more info!
