Just felt like thanking Forsaken Media for taking the time to answering all the questions asked on forums Keep It Up!
Our pleasure, of course Just wanted to drop in to give some final details now that submission is so close! We were able to get it running on all devices, so iPod Touch 4 owners rejoice I can't guarantee the best performance on those very low end devices, but its more than playable, is very stable, and actually still looks quite good imo. As for a trailer, I said next week at the latest, and we're on track for that, so stay tuned! I'm psyched for you guys to finally see BH2 in action.
This has probably been answered before, but is the game going to be F2P like the last one? Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the trailer.
Yes, it will be F2P. Because there is a competitive element to the game, there is no pay to win though. There are global upgrades, but they can only be earned by completing missions or winning multiplayer matches. The bulk of purchasable content are simply new heroes, which you can actually unlock just by playing.
I will be buying all the heroes, no problem. If there was a discounted way to do this, like with the the bots in BF, I will do it day one
So it supports iTouch4.. I have iPhone 5 and iPad Air and I wonder how would Bug Heroes look like (both gameplay and graphics) if it would support for example iPhone 4S and higher. Well, maybe we'll see in Bug Heroes 4 The f2p model doesn't look as bad as it usually is but it doesn't make me like it. I think it will be like in the free version of H&C but I played only the premium one. Well, we'll see. If it will have "all+all upcoming" unlock, I'll buy it if it's fairly priced. And as I know FM, they won't have currency doubler when there is competitive multiplayer I can't complain about anything If it's really better than BH1 //Edit: This is quite interesting and very rewarding way to get those global upgrades Is it like "global upgrade X is locked, win 100 pvp multiplayer battles to unlock it" OR you're earning currency by completing missions and playing multiplayer battles and spend it on the upgrades (like in H&C)? The first one looks more rewarding for some new challenges. I wouldn't be mad if it had both
If I'm completely honest the game is balanced in such a way that a player playing regularly will be able to unlock around 4-8 heroes with a bit of playing time... we think that is more than fair for a free game, considering you do get everything in there, gameplay wise - no gated modes, playing time, or anything like that. Imo all the extra heroes are truly extra, as not having them doesn't detract from the game, but having them can make it better and more interesting. With F2P unfortunately there is a terrifying fine line between giving too much and too little. As far as unlocks go, its pretty much structured like Kingdom Rush. There are 4 categories of global unlocks, 8 in each category, 3 levels of each upgrade... so there's tons of unlocks. You earn stars by beating missions or winning in multiplayer - harder missions yield more stars. Stars are not a currency, per se, because you don't actually spend them (you allot them, but they never go away). Stars are also what you "use" to unlock new heroes for free. So, for ex once you get 10 stars, a new hero will automatically unlock - you don't spend stars, its just a benchmark for you to get new heroes in that regard. Then, you can automatically unlock another hero at 25 stars, etc... we think its a better method than actually forcing you to spend currency if you don't want to - its more of an obvious, direct unlocking method. There is no way to buy stars, and there is no star doubler or anything. As I mentioned before, the only way to get stars is to play That being said, if you want to unlock a hero instantly, you can spend a certain amount of "diamonds" - this is the only actual currency in the game, which you can earn by playing or buying IAP, so its not a premium currency. Diamonds are used to unlock heroes and buy scrolls. Scrolls are an interesting mechanic we think, in that each hero can have up to 5 scroll slots (depending on their mastery level). Scrolls aren't necessarily "buffs", but they allow you to kind of change the way a hero is played. For example, lets say you prefer a more offensive style, but you like Beetle... well, you can equip a scroll that gives you +10% damage and -10% health. So again, there is no real competitive advantage about scrolls, it just allows you to rework a hero to your preference (that, and of course the amount of scrolls is dependent on your mastery level, which you gain only rank up by playing!). Re: your last thing about mini achievements to unlock upgrades - thats not out of the question in the future, and could be pretty cool
Gran trabajo Foursaken Bros! His work is almost so perfect! They need only consider adding multilanguage support in your games! Eso sería maravilloso! So, please tell me you think to add multilanguage support this time! You now Spanish is the second language spoken in the world Most! (.. And with more speakers, although English is spoken on five continents!) You know if you want to achieve perfection! Cheers and keep it up! Y sigan escuchando! Ánimo!
Perhaps I'm kinda all by my lonesome in this, but I really, really, really liked the Coliseum mode in BH1. Not as a replacement to the classic mode (though in reality, it served that purpose for me), but as a great complement, one that allowed me to focus exclusive on one hero (and really, really explore that hero's combat strategies), twitch combat and survival skills. (Fly and Spider were particularly fun to do Coliseum combat with. Wolf Pistols or Fly's default weapons + lots of strafing = friday night firefight fun ) If not at launch, might we see a Coliseum eventually? (It would probably be doubly fun in BH2, with strictly combat-focused PvP-matches as a result.) This might possibly be the best iteration of archetypical mobile-centric unlock/upgrade mechanics so far. Another kinda new-fangled mechanic (playstyle-altering, competitively balanced purchaseables) that I am very glad to see included in BH2. Anything that gives achievements additional purpose and incentive is welcome, and achievements that either yield currency (IB3-style), or (preferably) unlock abilities is probably the best possible way to do so.
What do you guys think about Fling (iPad joystick) and Bug Heroes? I'm thinking of buying it. Devs, have you tried using it with BH2? (Are there "not fixed" virtual sticks?)
Mad Chef... I tried, so hard, to love the game bc it was Foursaken... I still think, after the current releases, we should see a Super Foursaken Bros. Game with Mad Chef, Beetle, NY Zombie dude... In some kind of epic genre mashup On point.... All of BH2 info is lining up to be an epic game... I really really hope the multiplayer component, out of the gate, comes out strong, not,p just the modes, but the "under the hood" stuff that make connectivity happen quickly, that make the lag a nonissue, etc. That I have felt the last few games has definitely hampered it for me.
Coliseum was slated for release, but we decided to nix it for now - it may return in the future, but no guarantees... the reason being that the heroes are balanced differently in BH2. Because you have a simultaneous team of 2 now, some heroes have more specific roles since they actually work together. So basically, all heroes are not equal in a coliseum type setting, they are more balanced to be equal in a team setting in one way or another. We didn't want a mode where only a fraction of the characters would be competitive. BH2 doesn't have "dual sticks" like in BH1.
