Bug Heroes 2 [Foursaken Media] - coming Feb 20!

There is no finite "end of game" in BH2, similar to BH1. There's a TON of content to unlock though that will take players a looong time, including global upgrades, scrolls, and heroes. After that, I would imagine most players will be trying to max out their endless scores (and competing on the leaderboards), playing missions just for fun, or playing PvP or co-op.

So yeah, there is PvP There is either 1v1 or 2v2. There is also co-op.

 

The thing next to gold coins are "spare parts." They are collected just like food, and must be dropped off at your food stash. Spare parts are a new base building currency, freeing up your gold to be spend purely on upgrading your heroes.

We're not sure visual armor progression will be present yet. Its something we've been thinking about, but with 25 heroes it will be difficult. Not to mention adding in extra armor can potentially break the overall character of some heroes - like Moth - who don't even wear armor. Finally, while I know armor progression can be cool in many regards, it also has some cons... for example not having heroes look their coolest from the get-go (yes, that IS a con). So in other words, no promises one way or the other. We are also thinking about other things like perhaps adding in banners/flags that represent rank.

And no, the Skill Master will not be in for BH2, it doesn't really fit, considering BH2 is more like BH1 in gameplay (generally), than the heavily story/progression based BHQ. That being said, there is still a lot of room for similar customizability per hero! Every hero has 2 equipment slots which they can equip a huge variety of equipment from, so you while the Skill Master may have offered you Poison Skill, in BH2 many heroes have a piece of equipment or item that gives them the same thing. There ends up being a lot of flexibility with how you want to build your character throughout a match with all the different equipment.

 

That is Spider, yes. Since Crab Spider Defender is also a spider, we had to get more specific with the species.

BH1 is so old it never even got widescreen support >_< Remember, the top device when it was released was the iphone 3gs We've iterated on our engine so many times since then, with all the assets built around the technology that was available back then that it would've been impossible to update the game for newer devices (widescreen, retina ipad, etc) without a significant rework.

 

Yep, definitely still on track! We've got multiplayer up and running (which is so fun, btw ), and are still just adding final bits of polish, balance, etc. We haven't been showing off much new stuff because we're going to be rolling out a trailer soon, and I think that will show off what BH2 is all about better than anything else... Really hoping when people see it in action they'll be as excited as we are!
