Bug Heroes 2 is probably a bit too on-screen button- and UI elements-heavy for an external controller. Not to mention that several abilities requires direct taps on the screen for targeting.
35 minutes until US launch. Just got done drinking a pot of coffee in preparation for this awesomeness.
There is tons of single player content! Tons of missions, endless mode, and skirmish mode. This. I know BH2 may seem ripe for controller support on the outside, but there is actually quite a bit of contextual screen control that makes it very difficult for controller support. We are going to look into it some more regardless - hopefully we'll have some more news later.
I dunno but games with complex commands on screen, like Kinetic Damage and Tomb Raider, they support controllers as well. I think I am leaving this issue to the wisdom of FSM then.
Is he OP? Im rocking Aphid right now and he's pretty strong, but could easily be bursted down. His Chi Slash deals line AOE damage of over 120 at level 1 with range almost like a siege enemy, at the cost of 50% HP. casting it from your food stash and healing IMO makes that skill OP.
No way Roach requires a deliberate and specific play style, but he is a great all around hero - he can tank, dish out damage, and is fast. You just have to be sure to use all of his abilities constantly, especially feast, to make the most out of him!
Looks like the game is officially available now, btw! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bug-heroes-2/id720208088?mt=8
Haha I used him a few games a go for the first time in a while and my feelings went from "no" to "ehhhh, meh" so I guess I'm figuring him out haha
Well, after getting a decent bit of extra sit down time with the game now, I have to say I understand why the early players had such difficulty putting it down, it is hugely entertaining. The short time I got with it earlier left some very positive impressions but after getting deeper in, it just gets better. And I have to add that a standout feature, while not gameplay related but still important, is an actual button that allows you to upload and download from the iCloud save. Automatic works very well on it but that button alone is a great addition for me personally. Lots of buttons on screen initially but very intuitive and extraordinarily simple, very suited to touchscreen once you've figured out what you're at. I can see where controller support would be a problem but on the face of it, the onscreen controls are done extremely well for a game of this type and I personally wouldn't be inclined to use a controller with this particular one. The balance has already been mentioned but its worth repeating, extremely fairly balanced. Can't see any way I'll need to buy iap at any stage. Simply very well done. I shall still have to though (must support an excellent product this way) so I'm open to suggestions as to what would be the best choice. Plus it looks really cool. Top notch visuals. But most importantly, quite simply a hugely entertaining game that looks and plays great. Definitely a new member to the favourites list. Nice job J and co at Foursaken.
