I get the same problem. Stuck on a mission to hold three posts for three minutes against respawning hordes of Gnats and Fleas. Very annoying indeed.
Try maxing out at least one Firecracker turret, it will counter those pesky cannons that spawn on edge of map and save u time running there to kill em
2 comments: for ranged units with high armor u don't need more than 200 hp, and u gain some Max HP in game as u lvl. Try especially if u have Vampire scroll it's genious at replenishing HP Beetle Warrior Crest item that heals 2 hp per sec is better than +250 HP as u can stay in the field longer rather than run to stash to heal. Try using Heavy Armor Scroll on Beetle

My favorite bugs as of now are Bumblebee, Moth, Pillbug, and Stinkbug. Any pair of these do wonders for me. I struggle getting Bumblebee's toggle abilities on and off in the heat of battle, but he's a downright animal. Moth makes controlling a point or dishing out AOE a breeze once you get her spell book. Being a priest-type character, she's really strong. Pillbug and Stinkbug are my favorite when it comes to downright devastating power from afar. I'm surprised nobody mentions Stinkbug more.
Ye- hold on... In mission mode, yes, and you can see it say that if you look at what it says on the upgrade screen... But in endless mode, in a round that is cleared by destroying the enemy food stash, things seem to work differently. I think the enemy heroes don't respawn in this case. And I don't know if your base actually spawns creeps at all... Also, on rounds where you must capture a strategic location(s) for x amount of time, it seems that they don't increase gold generation like they do in Skirmish mode and Skirmish missions in mission mode (which are vs enemy food stash)...
I don't think he's getting a lot of love right now because his aiming is bugged (lol), but he definitely seems difficult to fight from when I've faced him in skirmish missions. Also I have 2 unbeatable 5 star missions and one 1-star that requires army ant (I don't have army ant). When is this update hitting? Edit: I have Ant, Beetle, Black Widow, Honey Bee, Pillbug, Roach, and Waterbug, if someone wants to suggest a strategy. My 2 unbeatable missions are survive for 7:30 against armored bugs and complete 10 rounds vs armored bugs. I'm open to any and all strategies, since it seems I can't win the way I've been playing.
How is his aiming messed up? Seems to be hitting just fine for me, unless I'm missing something. I do have auto aim on.

Lose a mission 3 times and its stars go down by one. People were saying Worm had bugged aiming. Was it not just him, or were they mistaken?
Considering Worm is inhumanely accurate as CPU, I assume not. If the mission's stars go down by one, does its difficulty also decrease? Addition: I would like a FM dev to answer this for me, but when I do a mission, such as 'Hold 3 Strategic Locations for x minutes,' I run into a framerate freeze when I get a mass of enemy creeps spawning at once. Will the update fix this issue? It interrupts what I am doing every time this happens.

Note that "use certain turret" missions can, in at least one case, change which turret to use. The snail making turret changed to the snail cannon in one mission I lost enough times. I'm sure it was the "slime" something, whatever the name of the snail maker was...
5 star seige (heck 4 star seige) Anyone successfully beat a 5 Star siege mission? I didn't kill a single enemy as I had spiders locking me down non-stop, shielders as well as healers all ganged up. Seriously, anyone managed to get past one of these?
