Pill Bug is a set and forget type hero- very low maintenance if any required just put him within a Shielder turret and use his Hunker Down skill and he will be like having a more powerful lvl 5 Autocannon turret. It's range is great but it must be stationary to fire and it's default walk speed is slow. Termite takes ALOT more micromanagement, he can summon up to 6 turrets and buffs your other turrets range and or damage, but u must manually hit those summoned turrets to refresh their timer, so every minute or two u must take a minute or so smacking your own turrets ONE AT A TIME, lol wish it was aoe but oh well the way he works now is at lvl 1 mastery every smack adds 5sec to timer and some damage boost, at higher mastery it may be quicker to do. Anyhow, Termite is superior damage and range overall for a defensive hero but u will have less time to run around with your gatherer/offensive forward: also keep in mind Termite moves slow and has a slow melee attack.
I ground my way through the first couple of missions at 3fps on my iPad 3, wow am I glad I did because after unlocking another character I learned it was the Army Ant that responsible for my crippled framerate. I have since played a bunch of various missions with various characters, this game begs for support more so than H&C did so... "Shut up and take my money" to say the least. For anyone at Foursaken reading this, basically if there was *any* multiple firepower coming at that Army Ant my fps dropped to low teens, and if you had a '- Speed' puddle under you the game quite literally became a slideshow. As the first couple of missions are chock full of this exact scenario, I was doomed with my initial character draw. Otherwise I haven't seen any other character cause something like that. Initial thoughts (now that I can finally play it)... I shudder to think of how awesome this game will be, my Black Widow was an uncanny cousin to my old pal of an assassin in H&C and I simply cannot stop giggling no matter who I play. As for the IAP, even in Block Fortress it seemed like they missed a decimal place somewhere, a person bought the doubler just to let them know we care. This game is crazy fair on this front, Foursaken basically says "here is a totally free game, if you want us to keep making games the donation box is over there". That only works if you can deliver THE GOODS, they can and they know it too. We know they will shovel content at us too, another Foursaken trait that the big Devs could stand to learn a thing or two about.
Re: pillbug vs termite Both CAN be defensive. Pillbug is more offensive and termite is for map control for a price of spare parts which he can get by one of his abilities. Pillbug can buy 2nd weapon which deals awesome damage and pierces armor. Termite can buy food cultivator but he'll use it only near food stash
If you pack the turrets close enough the hits will be AoE. Additional help request: how does one get the first(?) Slayer mission (where you have to kill two ant queens)? I currently have Termite, Worm and Waterbug unlocked (not sure if that's a poor draw), and when I get to the queens, I'm like, dead within seconds :s
Just did a 5 star mission that took me 1 hour and 4 minutes to complete. Had to build 4 level 3 snail towers and survive for 6 rounds. Also, don't know if this has been brought up but would it be possible to get rid of that BUY! tab that pops up? I can see it being useful in the tutorial but once you know what you're doing it's just an annoyance. Had my gun and armor leveled all the way up and had the nails for armor piercing, so basically everything I need and the pop up just stays there. It just gets in the way.
I was just reading a couple iTunes reviews. One is talking about timers blocking him from playing his paid game. Are there really timers here?
No. There's just some timed missions (read daily missions) that change every 24 hours, but there's an issue in this version where these missions require more stars than you've accumulated (stars aren't spent, they only build up, so you need to have a certain number of stars to play the missions is basically what it means) but this issue should be resolved in the next update I believe
Thats actually a bug with the "Buy" prompt not disappearing. Fixed in submitted update. As for mission, those turret missions get pretty crazy - they've been toned down for upcoming update. Actually, the timed missions aren't the issue - we have the required stars higher than you currently have on those missions as kind of "mini goals" to keep you playing towards something (those timed missions have bonus rewards also). The issue is that there are OTHER missions (the requiring heroes you don't own) that can completely block you from playing (if you have some of those AND timed missions). The timed missions only serve as "if you keep playing, you can get this set of bonus diamonds", not as any sort of blocker. Question: do you play in overhead, or behind the shoulder view? Think I know whats going on, which would affect iPad 3 more than any other device. Thanks for the report!
I only have four heroes and I can't decide between them. I wonder what's gonna happen when I get more of them. Great game
I'm on round 8 of a round 10 game needed to win a challenge. Whenever I open the game up it immediately crashes and I don't want to redo it Will crashes be fixed in the update? I play on the IPhone 4S if that helps.
I'm a bit stuck due to having only one 3 star and two 4 star missions while I still have only four heroes, none of them at high levels...is it intended then that you need to grind endless until you can tackle these hard missions? Seems a tad boring. Also still can't have any sort of multiplayer...if I choose coop it goes into an endless loop of "automatchinng/connecting to match" without ever finding anyone...if I choose 1vs1 or 2vs2 it just stays at automatching forever...
