You lost me there It's probably because I don't game much myself, mostly only on my iDevice, and only asynchronically and when games like Bug Heroes 2 come along (plus a few classics that I return to occasionally), but I can't see why it would be more costly/a luxury to stick to a particular title on iOS than on the PC. (Ironically, I sometimes spend more time writing about and discussing the principles behind games on TA and similar places than actually playing them. A side-effect of being a tech journalist with one foot in game development, probably.) Anyways, I'm not saying yer wrong I just am not aware of the phenomenon.
Ironic timing Here is my take on it: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3138498&postcount=26 (If you play with dedication, you'll unlock at least one hero every day. Whether that is fast or slow is up to you )
This is an unbelievably polished game. I want it ALL for free! I don't want to pay a 1$ for a character or 3$ for a legend! I want this joyfully beautiful game to be free! I want my all. That team of devs working there asses off overtime should give me it ALL for free. On that note, I sign off! / sarcasm People these days. Forsaken, nothing but love! Bought plenty of iap to support further updates.
Thank you. Gonna buy something to support the devs. I will support as much as i can. 5,67 in my account till the end of the month so i will spend them all here. It looks like an amazing game. And judging from the 5 stars here in toucharcade i am sure it is.
Hey guys, how do the graphics seem to you? I have an iPhone 5 and they seem a little, well, chunky. Lowish resolution, frame rate, no real smoothness (ie, curvature) to anything. I realize this is no infinity blade but with all the praise this game gets I thought it might be a little better (not dissing the game though). Are there ingame graphics settings?
IMHO legendary heroes are too weak. The legendary mantis at least can only carry 3 items, while two regular heroes can carry 2 each for a total of 4. The mantis does not have double stats or doubly powerful abilities, or twice as many abilities. I think that we should be allowed a legendary and support hero, though perhaps there would be special supports heroes for this case that are essentially nerfed regulars.
Get the Mouse Ranger and he has a skill that allows you to summon a support character. And in my opinion the ranged characters are better because they don't have to get right into the enemies face to do damage.
Possible bug: Vampiric Scroll at level 5 does 15% chance to heal 1% of damage per hit, HOWEVER, the level 2,3,4 of the skill does 3-12% chance to heal 30%, 50%, 75% if i remember correctly. Why would the max level of this scroll be weaker than level 2,3,4? Thanks
As I understand it, they were purposefully designed that way. They are not suppose to be a complete replacement for 2 regular heroes, but a way to focus on a single character, possibly at the loss of some effectiveness. But most importantly, they don't have to be doubly powerful to match up against two enemy heroes. Mantis, for example, is still a good deal stronger than any regular bug hero, with an initial attack damage of around 25, more than twice the HP of simlar regular heroes (Black Widow), and a whopping 50 inherent armor piercing. Her abilities are certainly not doubly powerful, but a bit stronger still (in some cases, a good bit stronger). The area-of-effect-plus-heal, for example, is ridicously effective when properly used, far beyond any other self-healing in the game. Combined with short duration invincibility, two stealth effects, passive healing, she still has supreme survivability and damage potential. The downside to two regular heroes who are more powerful combined is that that power can be halved when one hero goes down. Halving Mantis HP, in contrast, has no effect on her damage output. In a confrontation with two regular enemy heroes of similar level and equipment, a well-played Mantis will focus everything on one hero. Once that hero is gone, even if Mantis is badly wounded, she is so superior in all other regards that the remaining fight might be a very farr and even one. Still, Foursaken has stated the intention of balancing Legendary Heroes against teams of normal bug heroes, and has expressed the opinion that Legendary Heroes might indeed be at a slight disadvantage in most situations. And a good thing that is. The alternative would be (often) IAP-purchased titans that strode across the battlefield, destroying all fair play in the process And Legendary Heroes are still awesome to rampage with, because any shortcomings in total might notwithstanding, they are still nearly godlike compared to playing any single regular character And that feeling is what we get when we unlock them, more than perhaps anything else Yeah. I'm in a bit of a bind there. I want to support Foursaken, but do not want to take away from the fun of unlocking stuff through play in a game that I plan to play for months or years to come (admittedly at a slow pace, which is how I play anything). Currently, I sink money into other Foursaken titles, hoping that they will add some cosmetic IAP, paid expansions or other ways to make them take my money
That's not a phenomenon at all lol. What im trying to say is that games on iOS come and go too fast. Have you seen the existing "what iOS games have you completed" thread? I was actually surprised to have finished more games than most on iOS. That said, it's mostly because a new and interesting game comes along before a user can finish one, and it doesnt stop there. New games come out each week too fast. You probably notice the "backlogs" mentioned by TA users in the forums. Same thing. What im trying to say is that the general gamer in the iOS scene isnt spending "a month of dedicated gaming" on one title alone. I've been playing "a lot" of H&C since it was released, but me saying "a lot" doesnt mean everyday. It just means it is one of those games i always go back to and play in a session or two in a week. Lots of new games (and my backlog too) that occupies my attention. With that, i am sure we are different in which case you may be able to spend "a lot" of time on a game you really like in your own definition of "a lot." I actually envy you to have that dedication to a game, and i only had that much dedication to games when i was playing on the consoles, and the last was on the PSP (over 4000 hours on Monster Hunter titles). Right now im also only gaming on iOS, and a bit of League of Legends, but nothing more than that. As much as i want to spend a month of non-stop gaming with Bug Heroes 2, i cannot. Im pretty sure eventually this will be one of my most played games, much like H&C was to me, but with other games played in between, completing unlocking Heroes in a month (or even a year) would be impossible for me. This is why im saying it is slow to get everything.
Yeah that was on my 2nd day of playing I think. Here's a pic with rewards I get now (this is my highscore). I believe that misions gives you more diamonds overall. Not all of them but when you'll get those which offers bonus diamonds when playing as hero that it wants you to use. This way I got 12 diamonds in 4 minutes.
I just got him. Note im not an expert at the game or anything so my opinion probably counts less than others. But i love him. He's ridiculously fast, has a good main attack (needs to reload but still its pretty good), His banditos are awesomeee and his quickdraw is super effective at taking down tough armored enemies, havent even tried his other two skills. Nice passive though and his tonic skill seems useful to go out for a quick scavenge. Drawbacks being squishiness/the reload
One of my very favourites, though perhaps not one of the better heroes (if there is such a thing): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3138504&postcount=28
Wow that 4 star armor clash mission is hard! Tried 2 legends (mantace & hamster) that didn't work so I tried aphid & waterbug and I couldn't complete it until the difficulty dropped lol. Crazy stuff! Loving it so far tough. Above; I see your point. I wait & wait for a game to come out and never end of beating it because they're so many games. PC / console / ios. Like oceanhorn , followed that for forever and haven't even beaten it yet! Although I do play ios games often, I just like to switch it up. Been playing this a lot the last few days though. It really is a great game.
Oh, I'd say that is one of the most characteristic gaming phenomenons I have heard of But yeah, I get your overall point, I think. But in that case, should not the fact that you will still have content to unlock a year from now be a blessing in many ways? (And with the current diamond rate, even if you only play BH2 one or two sessions a week, you'll eventually earn enough diamonds to unlock one regular hero every or every other time you sit down to play an extended session. That seems like a very nice reward mechanism to me, to know that if even if I don't play BH2 for a month, when I do take the time, I'll end that session, or the session after, with new mechanics, the variety of an entirely new hero to enjoy.) (And I will definitively not spend a contiguous month of dedicated gaming on BH2, but rather spend that much time distributed over a year, much like you. With the difference that I will not play much else to any greater extent in the meanwhile.) Regarding the stream of new (and good) releases, I see that as the actual luxury. Nothing forces us to move on or divert time away from a favourite game, but if we do, there is so much other good stuff waiting for us. But I think I understand what you say, how dedication to a single game can actually be something to envy, and how it is hard to focus on any single game in such a huge onslaught of new and intersting titles. In the end, I am hoping (and think) that BH2 will have the kind of tactical and skillwise depth that will make playing the same hero over and over continously entertaining, and a process of gradual refinement of skill and mastery. Much like desktop MOBAs (even though I can't stand most of them). Combined with the unlock rate, that might make for a very rewarding long-term experience. That's even better than I thought possible. Not available to every player, certainly, but most who refine their skill will probably reach similar reward levels. With endless runs like that, even legendary heroes become fair game and within reach for hero unlocks.
Did someone play as an "iron man"?Hope you got the joke lol,is the robot fun to play with?I think he has only 1 offense spell...that's kinda bad but did someone try him already?
Anyone up for coop? Want to get some mastery/diamonds and try some strategies. Tired of playing with laggy randoms who don't communicate or work together.
Man, I remember play Bug Heroes Quest and how fun that was! Though, I have to ask, is there still any giant bugs with boggly eyes? Kind of silly for me to ask, but big bugs get my blood boiling... :/ (like that one level with the table leeches stealing food in BHQ) Man I hate bugs, but I love good gameplay.
