1) Outmaneuver them. Heroes like Aphid or Bumblebee with superior range/mobility can kite and dance around slugs while hacking away with little risk. 2) Negate them. Heroes like Ladybug or Moth can reduce, deny, or even counter a slug's damage with little effort. 3) Overwhelm them. Heroes like Pillbug and Honeybee can simply plow through slugs with massive damage output via normal attacks and skills. Of course, a lot of these overlap with each other. If you're using a typical melee/ranged combo, it's best to have the melee bug kite/tank the slug and keep it away from strategic points while the ranged CPU bug fires from a safe distance. I prefer Aphid/Pillbug because Aphid gets tons of healing and damage auras while Pillbug is one of the safest secondary bugs because of his high sustain, pierce, and armor. Alternatively, Worm has massive burst damage with Kamikaze and Bomblets provided you have a speed scroll or good reflexes to avoid chomps. Stinkbug has the best DoT hands-down for big and slow enemies, almost overpowered with poison scrolls. Roach doesn't look like much but Hunger Strike and Counter Strike will tear through meaty and predictable enemies. Widow has the best critical hit potential and three of her skills are perfectly suited for heavily armored and high damage targets. Almost every hero has some counter for slugs. I'd say the most important thing is to quickly take down nearby threats so you can focus on the slug without pressure. And don't get chomped.
This is why I love Stinkbug so much. His poison shots negate armour, and Cyanide Blast destroys high HP bugs like the Giant War Slugs. Although recently I've become attached to Roach. I loved him when the game was first revealed, and fell in love with his cute little waddle and voice. When I tried to use him first time, I couldn't figure out how his abilities fit together well, so I left him. Although now I've gotten the hang of how to use him effectively, and he really isn't as bad as everyone seems to think. A high-level Hunger Strike knocks off over 50% of multiple targets' HP, Feast buffs his damage to insane levels after a few snacks, and he has access to the best crit-boosting item in the whole game. Max out his fork as well, and he gets incredible armour piercing to boot. With him and Moth, I've found larger bugs are surprisingly easy to take down. The only time he becomes a bit useless is when he gets overwhelmed by ranged bugs. Bulb Ants in particular, even after the nerf, are still a massive threat.
And I thought by posting that, it would cause the highest ones to grace us w their presence... They said on April 6 both games were probably over fifty percent.... So, add in converting to android... Plus new content that was released for both bf wars and bug heroes... Factoring in the speed they work, which is faster than most anyone.. We should have the games by next week. There's your math for Friday! I do love Roach, glad to see other fans..... Ranged is his weakness, for sure.
Not necessarily. Honeybee with Combat Gear can do quite well, but then again I'm not really sure whether you'd class him as ranged or melee....
He's a hybrid, since he has a pistol and sabre. He does have better DPS in melee, though. His ranged DPS is... eh.
I'm not the biggest Honeybee fan. The times I do use him though, he has seemed quite powerful. With armour piercing equipment bought too, he can fare well against a lot of armoured enemies. Out of interest, is there a tier list of sorts for the heroes? Or at least a table giving them all ratings? If there is no current list, are there any bugs you think would be "top-tier" as it were? I'd probably put Aphid, Honeybee, Termite and Beetle as some of the best, with Army Ant, Bumblebee and Fly close behind.
I really love army ant and honey bee. But Army Ant's weakness, I feel, is the very thing he is supposed to buff... His allies. It is really one of the weaker units of the game, even w buffs, bc of their speed of attack.
I find Army Ant's buffs work better with other heroes' allies for that very reason. It's why Honeybee and Army Ant make a great pair. Similarly, Army Ant goes well with Mouse in multiplayer, because the buffs do wonders for his commado fleas.
Another thing I would like to mention is that there should be NO siege bug summons at all. I don't need a Siege Ranger, or Grubs on offense.
What scrolls you guys use most? Nearly i use the scrolls adding hp damage and speed for all bugs. I just do not know why there are so many scrolls which seems useless, like those spawn allies for 2xx seconds, add x% chance to do xx% damage but you need to deduct x% hp, attack...
You don't need pure UP buff scrolls for every hero. I'm using +x% damage w/ -x% speed/HP scrolls with Field Mouse, for example, and he is an absolute butcher against EVERYTHING. His base damage (afaik) is around 32. Now add in his rate of fire. Pretty much carnage, carnage, and more carnage.
I tend to stick mainly to pure HP and damage boosting scrolls. With Moth, I use cleric scrolls, with a damage nerf, but everyone else gets pure scrolls.
When I play Honeybee, I go full Magic scroll. 4 Level 5 Magic scrolls + Passive ability + Bug Banner = TANK ALLIES!!
Critical scales with weapon upgrades which makes them the best. Aphid has 50 damage with maxed weapons. When I equip both level 5 Critical scrolls and an Amulet of Razor, he has a 40% chance to crit around 190 with basic attacks. Chi Slash hits 999 damage at level 3+ when it crits. And crits with Vampiric are a guaranteed full health restore. Most of my DPS bugs are running one Speed, one Pierce, one Vampiric, and two Critical. Health isn't a priority because it's fairly easy to dodge threats with one Speed scroll and knowledge of enemy behavior. Damage scrolls don't scale with weapon upgrades so it's only useful at the very beginning of a game. Try stacking Critical scrolls on bugs with crit weapons/skills and you'll see a ridiculous damage increase. Nerf incoming. Poison for Stinkbug procs 100% of the time. Two level 5 Poison scrolls with Stinkbug inflict 15 poison DPS for 23 seconds. Yep, 345 damage altogether with one shot, not including the initial damage. Probably gonna get nerfed now.
So you're saying that Poison scrolls normally activate 25% of the time, but when equipped for Stinkbug, it's 100%? Nerf incoming.
One more question, what is damage aura? What is the difference between damage and damage aura? Thank you.
