Looks quite interesting. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,343 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #3 metalcasket, Jun 7, 2019 Basically just a recommendation not to be fooled by the cute name and definitely not to sleep on this. I know quite a few peeps (hi, psj!) will be turned off by the fact that this is an autorunning plarformer, but it definitely brings it. Levels are SUPER varied and the game knows exactly what it wants to be with excellent implementation of power-ups that make (you) Bubbles feel like a ****ing champ. I’m almost done with World 1 (and platinum-ing World X levels I’ve unlocked on the way) and this is going to keep me very, very busy for a while. Oh, and I haven’t mentioned the incredibly smart options the devs have offered in terms of making the game entirely yours, including a ‘Hold down to restart a level’ option. It’s brilliant. Only caveat is the little janky black (and grey?) sidebars (ONLY IN THE MENU!!!!!!) on X devices and odd fading transitions in the intro, but the game is absolutely flawless in-game. I’d be surprised if this wasn’t ironed out easily. Doesn’t take away anything from the game though. And like metal said, it doesn’t take anything away from the game itself. Yeah, seems like an easy fix. The two pics below show what happens 1) When the main menu’s animations are playing out, and 2) when it’s fully loaded. I presume that’s not intentional at all. *shrugs* Attached Files: D5911608-D1FF-461A-BB5D-AFDF8371BBB9.png File size: 2 MB Views: 10 99E5081E-B953-44A2-9992-A130127F3E76.png File size: 1.4 MB Views: 9 Anotherkellydown Moderator Staff Member Patreon Bronze Feb 10, 2014 4,581 1,134 113 Male CAD Technician I Upstate NY https://youtube.com/channel/UCcvu9xhE7xT-mZrXUZQJr5g #13 Anotherkellydown, Jun 9, 2019 It looks like it’s smaller on my iPhone but the same sort of thing. Almost looks like part of one of the story screens, but cut off. You can see the bubble in the lower right corner. Doesn’t seem like an intentional design choice. metalcasket likes this. Review: I haven’t played a title similar to Bubbles the Cat in years. Perfect one touch controls and responsiveness, challenging and rewarding gameplay, and new elements being introduced throughout the levels make this an exciting, long lasting title. Children will enjoy his game and adults will love the challenges of attempting to platinum all of the levels. (This is achieved by completing the level, collecting all of the fish, and completing the level in time all at once.) Ultimately, the controls, level variety, and level of polish make this come together. Hoping that the App Store will rightfully recognize this hidden action/arcade gem. metalcasket and Anotherkellydown like this. I got platinum on all the stage one levels and finished three of the bonus “X” levels. It really is a well made game, particularly for this type of one-tap auto runner. It’s nice to see different difficulty settings, too. Makes it approachable for players of all skill levels. Lots of other extras as well, like the gallery where you can check out concept art and the comic strip story parts from all the levels. raravan and metalcasket like this. I'm Johnny Wallbank - the chap who designed and programmed Bubbles the Cat. Firstly, let me express my thanks to you all for playing the game and leaving such wonderful feedback. I'm absolutely delighted that people are enjoying the game! Thanks also for all the pointers regarding some of the title and story images not quite being right. I've got an update planned which should fix that, as well as a few other minor bugs.(though you'll still see some black bars on things like iPhone XS Max - the artwork would look pretty bad if I stretched it out that much!). It's pretty tricky to test all of these devices - I've only got access to an iPhone 6S and have had to pretty much wing it from there! I'll let you all know when the update's due to hit and I hope you all continue to enjoy the game. How far through have you all gotten now? Many thanks, Johnny Anotherkellydown, raravan and metalcasket like this. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,343 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #17 metalcasket, Jun 10, 2019 Awesome having you here Johnny. Double checked the intro (more on that in a sec) and yeah, it's much like the main menu with a constant grey right side. Glad to hear it's being taken care of. Now, why did I double check the intro + how far in have I gotten? Well, I'm on 1-10. >___> You see, I finished off Very Little Nightmares last night and decided that not only did I want to delete it, but delete a whole slew of games that have been on my devices for close to a decade that I've never gotten around to playing. Long story short...looks like I accidentally deleted Bubbles and had no idea. I'll be at it until I get to where I last was. *sigh* I believe it was somehwhere on the bottom row of the second world and maybe X-12? I don't recall. That of course begs me to ask...any chance of iCloud implementation? TeamCatsAndBears New Member May 22, 2019 3 7 3 http://www.teamcatsandbears.com #18 TeamCatsAndBears, Jun 10, 2019 Hey Metalcasket, Gahh! It sucks to hear that you lost your save game! >.< I would certainly like to get cloud saves in the game, to cover both this and folks who want to have a shared save game between their iPad and iPhone. Unfortunately, iCloud saves aren't (currently) natively supported by the engine I'm using, which sadly makes implementing them quite a bit trickier than I'd like. I'll keep you informed if I make any breakthroughs on adding iCloud saves! metalcasket likes this. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,343 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #19 metalcasket, Jun 10, 2019 Got my fingers crossed, but believe me when I say the game’s an absolute pleasure to play, so I don’t mind doing these levels over again in the slightest. abbstar Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2018 231 77 28 #20 abbstar, Jun 10, 2019 This looks awesome.
