Looks good at least is not FPS according to the old rumors.but short missions and....you know,i know it's just a mobile game, short missions remind me Call of Duty PS Vita.

    And Freemium? isn't it?

Yup, called it, games got second currencies, items that you will be forced to buy to 100% levels, and worst of all! An energy system! YAY! This is just what we all wanted! The game is ruined, there's no coming back from this Gameloft, you've hit a new low for me. Off my wishlist but I'll still have to try it. It also just looks like Frontline Commando: D Day by Glu Games or whatever it's called.

Bro,Gameloft is gone,I don't know,Have you been in 2009 to 2011 (or 2012) on iOS? these years were the golden years of mobile games and gameloft,i remember the games that i had on my iPhone 3GS were way better than my currently iPhone 5.

Do you remember Gameloft from those years? they usually released 3 new games for iOS each month, now what? we totally have 4 or 5 games from them yearly.(and 4 of them are freemium).

I don't want to insult Gameloft or their fans but just compare those years with today and you will get my point.

Well my excitement level just fell through the floor.

Guess I'll just look forward to mfi support for modern combat.

Need to watch the full thing, but after a few minutes it doesn't look too bad to me. But then I am not really a sit down and play for hours type.

Did it show if it's possible to get energy refill from friends, like Spider-Man unlimited? If so that would effectively remove that paywall.

After seeing the trailer above i dont think the graphics are too bad, not my cup of tea due to the freemium elements but graphically it looks alright.

(Still holding out for a Dungeon Hunter 5 which is a return to the early games ;)

In my opinion game is good, just do not like these short missions and energy system but other things look fine for me.

Is gameloft even trying anymore? Walking from one piece of cover to an other, shooting braindead enemies that have never even heard of the concept of "moving" and "cover" at each piece of cover you reach is NOT FUN. It is in no way challenging (and therefore satisfying) or interesting.

The original Brothers in Arms game (which was a port from the DS) from 2008 (I think?) looks more fun that this!

Than you for pointing that out. The original BIA 1 and 2 (ps2) were very difficult. Squad based, firing team and assault team, like real warfare. The tanks in that game were a real PIA. I'm not sure why anyone considers this a BIA game, or any of the mobile versions for that matter.

    PS versions

The original games are like simulators.
    1. Bullets don't hit where you aim. Aiming is bouncy.
    2. Game maps are real locations.
    3. You command a firing and assault squad.
    4. a machine gun nest will kill your entire team.
    5. Tank A.I. Is amazing. They will hunt you down and ruin hours of progress.
    6. You can never kill from head-on. Flanking is essential.

PS3 version was sad and under-funded. Mobile version is completely off by all standards that make a BIA game what it is.

Premium currency, energy system, vip subscription, casual friendly missions, etc..
Pretty much everything is build around iap.
Well, who was expecting something else?

Since MC5 went a through a different pay route I thought this might follow along with the same style, but we were all wrong.

To be honest I was thinking this would be a mixture, definitely having IAP but maybe having a low entry price to start with, like Asphalt did (if my memory serves me correct it launched at a buck)

I am not bothered at the moment that it is FTP, as already said. I guess it remains to be seen how it will affect actual playing the game.

Totally agree with this, in those years you could see that the developers were trying to push the capabilities of mobile devices.

Now..seeing this trailer...god...with all the technology that we have on our phones and tablets and characters still doesn't move their mouths in cutscenes.

Also, this seems to be going the way of modern combat 5 with the missions, small size missions that break total inmersion of the game.

    what a disappointment...

I'm not a fan of how this one looks but perhaps they're just trying something different or going down the freemium route like so many other games have.

Its like Dungeon Hunter, 1 and 2 were superb, 3 was an arena based game (very bad, 4 went back to single player but with IAP's

Plus i'm sure Gameloft have done their homework, 'perhaps' the original games didnt make as much money as they thought, if this freeimum one does then obviously all the sequels will be the same.

Vote with your wallet, if you dont like it try another game. As for details like in the cut scenes the mouths dont move, i'm not personally bothered by stuff like that if the games good

    Exactly right on those points.

It's worth pointing out that MC5 was for the premium marketplace. This one isn't really targeted at the same people.
It was always going to be freemium and was never indicated otherwise.
A lot of research has been done and they do need a presence in the freemium shooter marketplace. It would be negligent of them not to as there is enough of them out there that are doing pretty well.
As for the gameplay comments, cover based shooters are actually a decent market on the App Store. It's not for everyone but it is for a lot of people, more than TA would even begin to represent.
They simply would of had no choice but to develop for it.
If you just view it as MC5 is for premium people, BIA3 for those that want "free to play" (and many people do want that), well, where's the problem really.

And even at that, the dual currency, well, it's pretty much par for the course in free to play. The timers, dunno, it fills up when you level up so can't see it being too much of a problem. Other games with timers, Injustice and RR3 for example, do extraordinary well in the overall downloads and top grossing charts so the overall market doesn't seem too bothered.
DT2 has a somewhat similar weapon upgrade system and the timers there never even made a difference or stopped play so can't see anything there either.

Have to wait for release and judge for myself.
I'm pretty sure the reaction here will be the "normal" but perhaps people should actually wait and see for themselves before pre judging.
It probably won't be something the casual market will even notice. And, yes, they do need to cater for the casual market as much as they have to cater for others.

Anyway, Gameloft is open to post release changes.
GTR2 may have gone in the wrong direction slightly but it was originally over balanced to such an extent that it wouldn't make any revenue.
Spider-Man 2 had the online element removed and Iron Man 3 had the timers/repairs removed and some very heavy reward rebalancing in the players benefit.
So, they do tend to make positive changes and listen to feedback expressed correctly.

But most importantly from what PSJ said, if it's not something you like, just don't download it and move to something else. Download numbers and repeat players do matter a lot so that is actually the best way to vote.

Just wish they could have thought of something else for their F2P shooter rather than disappointing fans. They could have easily made a modern combat spinoff or something new all together
