OK, so i caved and bought the game. My impressions after playing a few levels: The controls are not as bad is I feared, but the sensitivity should be able to be increased (if the default was 50% on the slider, not 100% as now I think it would fit most people). You can change aim while firing, but it's not as smooth as in NOVA (the aim doesn't seem to change until your finger leaves the firebutton completely). The graphics are nice, especially the explosions and the fire - much better than BIA1 - but I'm not impressed by the framerate - it seems on the low side, even on my 3GS. It's very scripted with a very clear path you need to follow (but you can stray a bit as long as you return to the markers), but then again COD on my Mac also had specific points you needed to pass, so I guess that's the way these games go. A bit to many cut-scenes to my taste (and they are quite long too) - of course you can skip them, but you also wan't to know the story so you have to sit through them the first time. Voice-acting is not terrible, but I also won't win any Oscars All in all a pretty good game that feels much more intense and immersive than the first installment - the sensitivity should allow a higher setting and the aiming while firing could be improved. A bit higher framerate would also be nice - at least on the latest generation devices. But still, for $8 it's great value - especially compared to what you get on other platforms.
I thought there would be something like that, but I never saw it. Time to do the tutorial again! Aha! Never saw that lol... all the way to Europe without crouching.
Controls are fine. As for people having trouble with the jeep mission: Move the camera slowly in the direction you want. Also don't turn too fast on the jeep. You'll go out of control. This mission was very annoying but i finished it after quite a few tries.
I think the sneaking up on people is just a gimmick for the tutorial. I haven't had to use it anywhere else in the campaign.
So is this better, worse, or equal to NOVA? The reviews seem to be favoring NOVA, but I don't see reviews as a be-all-end-all.
Then what are you asking for? If a review compares it to NOVA, what more do we have to offer outside of the context of a review? You've left me scratching my head...perhaps you mean app store reviews?...
that just introduces the button (in the tutorial) It's actually quite useful as far as quick on the fly cover goes. Too bad it's only present in campaign and not in MP it's in MC:S MP and has saved my ass more than a few times. The "take cover" action button takes way to long to disengage the action. I don't mind having it available but just tapping crouch to duck and pop up is way quicker and easier to control. I've emailed them but we'll see
I had to try that mission 4 or 5 times, kept dying in the exact same spot without knowing why. Then on the last retry I finally realized there was a bazooka guy hiding on top of a dune way to the right of the screen, who I didn't see the first few times. Beat the mission easily after that. Don't know if you're having similar trouble but that worked for me. Controls + looking around on the jeep during that mission are terrible though, not smooth at all.
Hmm I liked Nova much much more - can't really say what it was but - well BiA was like every IIww game before... Anyway I would really love to see a puzzle game made by Gameloft I feel that they would make a greate one
what do the perks do? on multiplayer you can get those three things in exchange for dog tags.. what do they do?
cool thanks! maybe if they make modern combat 2 they'll do something like this... except with airstrikes. ; ]
first time i played online MP with good connection ! i enjoyed it,for me it's better than NOVA and MC's MP the graphics is better in MP i just hope that they'll put 3-5 secs of invulnerability after respawning to fix respawn camping and in team deathmatch,i would love to see CS-like mechanics a team wins a point after they kill all of their opponents then respawning will just happen after that round
