    Australia, mate!
Agreed. FPS are getting boring now, especially the ones made by the same developer.

I cannot understand why they didn't apply the same control scheme as NOVA's.

In NOVA the controls are smoother and aiming is much easier and more accurate. Also the MCS controls are better.

What the eff happened with this game. Dont get me wrong graphics are good and gameplay is ok. What i dont understand is you had 2 great titles(mc and nova) that did most things right. Y not build off that. This game just feels rushed. The controls are clunky and theres alot of skipping and framerate issues on my 3gs. I will play through it once then delete it. I would tell anybody looking to buy this game to just not expect anything special. Its just another decent game. Thats all. Wow gameloft. Stop rushing things. Assholes. Lol

There are no framerate issues on my 3GS.

However the aiming is quite messed up. Im MC:S I could press the fire button and then move the finger on that spot, so combined that was sort like a fire stick. In BiA2 I can't move the camera and aim that way. After pressing the fire button, moving the finger, causes no aiming like in MC:S. I would have to take a third finger and then move the 3rd on the screen (Could let go the movement left stick, but the MC:S method is way better, there you could sort of move, and starting shooting with aiming immideatly without loosing movement).

    EXTREMLY clunky that way!

I have just played around with the control schemes. There are 4 options and I will do a little review on each.

Virtual Pad Scheme: Here you use the left part of the screen to move. The middle to aim and the shoot and run buttons are on the right. The problem with this scheme is that the buttons on the right take up too much room and unlike in NOVA you cannot rearrange any of the buttons. Also when you press the fire button you cannot move around easily at all. You kind of have to aim by moving your player (as described by fastbridge above).

Screen Tap Scheme: This is the one I am using currently. The left part of the screen is for movement and the right part is for aiming and shooting. The problem is that the controls are not easy to execute. I find myself firing randomly often. Also firing in automatic mode is not always easy. Sometimes it fires one bullet and it stops firing which get me killed. Not good when you are face to face with someone. You can also fire the gun by tapping the movement (left part of the screen) stick which causes a lot of random firing.

Virtual Sticks Scheme: Two sticks, left for movement and right for aim. You shoot by pressing the middle of the screen. I admit I have not used this as I know I would suck with them.

Point and Aim scheme: Here movement is the left screen. You aim by pointing on the screen where you want to aim and on the right is the fire button. Not good and way too slow to be effective.

Overall I think that they tried too much with the controls and completely missed in my opinion. Both NOVA and MCS controls seem more fluid especially in the screen tap mode. The constant firing when you don't want to and not always getting it to shoot automatically is frustrating. Hopefully this can be fixed in an update. Also the ability to rearrange the buttons would be excellent. The game, however, is good. The only thing that lets it down and makes the game annoying is the controls which is a shame.

I don't see anything wrong with the game controls. It's much better than MC: Sandstorm IMO. It could also be the different game style, with NOVA being run and gun with more advanced controls, MC being slow and more modern combat :p so more precise... Just a thought on the games. I thought the aim in this game is similar to the console ones.

It's a great game. The plot works very well too, it keeps me playing.

I just played the Bridge mission in the Sicily campaign and I have to say that mission kicks ass.

The controls can be used OK in the campaign mode (still not as good as NOVA or MCS) but in multiplayer they are not good at all. If you are using the standard controls for example then you cannot aim once you hit the fire button. You can only strafe left and right while firing to aim. If someone was to run past you for example you cannot fire and aim at him running by at the same time. Once you hit the fire button you are locked on that aim position. It is not good for multiplayer but OK for the campaign AI enemies. The touch screen controls are not the best. You can for example set off and fire the gun by tapping the control stck. This causes a lot of random fire. Also getting automatic burts is not always guranteed.

Too bad the controls are not as good as in MC:S and NOVA - I really liked the controls in NOVA and in my opinion GL where the ones who defined and perfected FPS controls on the iPhone.

I was hoping BiA2 would build on that and use the same controls as in NOVA.

I just started playing BiA1 (never finished it way back when) and while the control scheme is similar it's not as precise as in MC:S and NOVA

Too bad if they took a step back with this one - maybe I'll just stick with BiA1 for now.

Looks decent but I'm over FPS's at the moment. I might pick it up in a few months if I feel differently. :)

I seriously don't understand the beef with the controls. I think a lot of people want to be an expert within 2 minutes. They're taking a game that on a console would utilize two analog sticks and probably 8 buttons and making it work on a platform with a screen and no physical buttons...and giving you multiple options with it. I think the controls are great. They're not dumbed down. It's a challenge at times. It should be. I loved Terminator Salvation, but the auto snap aiming felt too easy sometimes. This feels just right. As far as the gameplay, graphics, sound, etc. it's completely stellar. I love WWII period games, and this one has everything I was looking for, plus multiplayer. I seriously don't get Gameloft haters, you're so myopic...besides this looks to have been developed by Ubi with GL publishing. I recommend this heartily, and see this as yet another progression with iDevice gaming. For 8 bucks no less, which some people amazingly are complaining about.
