I know this is off-topic for the forum, but I figure it'll be seen by iPad-specific users. As of today, when I go to the "Games" section of the app store on my iPad, it looks broken; that is to say the formatting seems broken. Here's a shot: http://flic.kr/p/94BDGH Anyone else seeing this?
it's just veryyyyy slow. the whole world is downloading all the sales.. lol normally i am done in seconds with downloading.. now it takes hours.
I'm sorry to bump this, but I'm seeing over 140 views for this post, and not one response that confirms or contradicts that anyone else has see this on their iPad. Please; am I the only one? Check your App Store via the iPad and go to categories > games. Is the formatting wrong? I hope it's not my device.

OK I checked, and mine looks normal. Are you still having the problem? Hope not, because as of right now there is nothing wrong with the app store in terms of display.
Well, Apple says it's a traffic-based headache, but I think I found a clue. In the past, when I opened the app store on the iPhone, and tapped categories > games, it immediately went to a sub-genre list (e.g. Strategy, RPG, sports etc.). Now, it takes you to a tabbed page, wherein "categories" resides on a tab, alongside "what's hot", "new" and "genius". It must be that the link has changed, and the iPad isn't seeing what it expects to. This must have something to do with it. Those who aren't seeing my problem probably; A) haven't reset the app or iPad in a couple of days, or B) are seeing the corrected page, and it simply hasn't propagated on the Apple servers in my area. Huh.
Yeah, it's occuring in the iPhone app store as well. It seems that the top charts have gone back in time to what they were a couple months ago, instead of showing the top charts of today. Really weird :\ EDIT: Seems like Apple's just changing stuff around in the App Store. Some links are completely messed up. When you go to the charts of some categories, it takes you to the What's Hot page instead or some other wrong page.
I am seeing the same thing as well plus in certain categories when I tried to load more results in charts the app store literally crashes back to the desktop,apple needs to fix this I'm too nervous to try to enter in my iTunes gift cards that I got yesterday with the store acting like this.
I bought my wife the IPAD for Christmas. Same problem as poster. Most categories work (admit I haven't check every single one) but every time we click on games the next page is horrible formatting that looks like its from the early 90's. Basically exactly like the screenshot the poster posted. Does anyone have any updates? Has anyone been able to fix this? Thanks
The game section is screwed up and has been all day. The formatting is weird. Every once in a while it is correct but most of the time it is screwed up.
For some reason the app store iPad app had been crashing a lot, even after cold reboot. Would someone verify/reproduce the following crash bug: App store icon--->categories--->games--->select icon for "Drawn: Painted Tower" on "what's hot" panel--->scroll through screenshots by flicking leftwards (photos move along with whole app page)---->select second occurrence of "more" (in bold)----->touch/select first (upper) "more"-->read text and/or continue to touch the screen while waiting for the ipad store app to suddenly exit. I've had this happen several times with other app pages, but the steps above reproduce the crash every time on my 16GB wifi iPad.
That app's page is busted up, for sure. I didn't fully understand your directions, but I managed to crash to desktop, by nosing around that app page. I think it's definitely related to a disparity between the iPad shop vs. The iPhone / touch shop. If it isn't your device, why worry?
