Guess I’ll have to switch classes. I got burnt out playing 4-6 Spider Queen and dying every time on the second form. Sounds like a good idea to try a different class.
Was thinking about a potion or a scroll that could heal or remove negative buffs on the board. Sometimes there are so many of them is almost impossible to recover for continued damage. What do you think?
Honestly I think it is very well balanced. I actually found 8, 9 and 10 too easy. I breezed through without a death. my current set up is still warrior. Level 41. Attack is 88 and health is 2400+. I have 3 action points. I haven’t played 11 as I beat 10 earlier today. I do look forward to a next play through with someone else. Hoping I unlock the Wizard after winning. @Anotherkellydown keep at it. You’ll get her down. Also maybe be strategic about a level up and you can get bonus health on her. Look to save lots of attack for her and try to get a pink sword if possible.
No idea how to unlock new classes. But my stats are thieve level 36 Att 60 ….. Def 28%. Miss 46% Crit 57%. Irondef 38%. Crit57%. Critdm 157% and Combmg 117%. Stage 11.1. Should complete it soon
Same, finished with thief but no unlock. Just as an fyi to people still playing, I tried creating a separate ring and necklace pair with heavy magic find on them and I got a lot more orange drops when I farmed with that gear.
Thief really is crazy. Being able to swap in stealth is huge. Hoping to beat spider queen with him. I got stuck on her with lvl 20 archer and lvl 19 warrior. I assume people are manually doing stat points? Does it make sense to just dump into the relevant category, like dex for thief, etc.?
Well, it worked. Got down to only 18hp in her third form, but got some insane combos and managed to win.
Good question, on my thief I let it auto-allocate until I got to map 11, I was around level 40 at the time. Then I switched to manual and dumped every point into CON for health until I beat the game.
Now I am getting crushed by the Swamp Crawler boss. He's doing like 25%-35% of my total health with his vomit attack. Gross!
No its an RPG, you gain exp and thus levels as you go with basic stat allocations per level. Your gear and money is persistent through death, just keep grinding.
I'm playing the Panda Warrior, and I just beat the Spider Queen (4-6). It took me two tries: the first time, I got crippled by a vine spell that went wildly out of control just before the boss appeared, and I could never keep up with it. The vine and stones are (so far) the most annoying obstacles. It's best to prioritize them if you get hit with them, and then aim to kill the enemy as soon as possible. I wish this game had better status clearing options (like Hero Emblems 1/2's Healer's Cleanse, etc.), but I do think the "moving more than one tile at a time" mechanic is great fun. You'll quickly learn which patterns will reward you with six tiles in a row or in crisscross fashion. Chasing the blue lightning tiles and then executing them to get tons of great cascades is key to beating a boss like Spider Queen.
Made it to 8-1 with a (currently) level 32 thief. I have +15 magic find and am getting some good drops.
Finally got back to it. Final boss gave me some difficulty. Destroyed him with a 17 hit combo at the end. Time to play with a new hero. Wish we knew how to unlock. Wondering if you need to beat it with everyone. Anyways this is one of the best rpg match 3 I have played. My Hero Warrior is strong like Bull! And 4 action points!!
I also just beat the game with the Panda Warrior. My level was a little lower than elcrazy's, if people are wondering if they can do it with a weaker hero: Three big tips for other players: 1) I want to second Havelcek's tip to respec your character: at the end of the game, CON gives you much better survivability than STR or DEX. I struggled with 12-1 much more than 12-2, and I couldn't beat the Shadow monster until I made my character CON based. 2) I attribute my win with the Panda to a sword I found that gave me health leech -- it was called "Bloodthirsty," and it gave me 3% health from all damage caused. When I had 20x cascades, it was often healing me for 200 HP, which is phenomenal. I only found this sword and trait once, but if you find it, it's worth keeping. I imagine the "6% of enemy health upon kill" could also be good (?), but I haven't tried it out yet. maybe 3) I didn't really grind, but if I did, I think I would focus on boss levels (last levels of each world) because those seem to be the only (?) levels that drop yellow-text gear. The bonuses on yellow-text gear tend to be much more powerful compared to their rare/common counterparts. I wish you would occasionally see the epic gear in the shop. =/ Has anyone won the game with the archer and/or the dwarf? I'm going to give one of them a try (maybe archer) and see how I like it. =)
Won the game with Archer, still no secret characters. =( I saw for the first time the ring or amulet that gives an extra action point -- it's powerful and very much worth it. For Archer, you want to prioritize getting blue/purple lightnings, especially when they give you free turns because of a stunned enemy, a free dodge, or extra critical hits. The equipment that give you extra action points for critical hits (~25% chance, etc.) are great with her, especially because her natural crit is high and some high matches give you guaranteed crit, etc. When things go well with Archer, you're not getting hit -- the enemy is stunned, then when that wears off you have extra dodges, just in time for you to launch another cascade that stuns/dodges/kills, etc. There IS a life leech bow, just like with the Panda's "Bloodthirsty" sword (Crimson Eye, or something); once I had it, I steamrolled over the last few bosses, except for maybe an unlucky death in the last section. If anyone unlocks the tigerman or the lizardman, will they let us know how?
I am on my second run through. Trying the Thief this time. Was easier then warrior was lol. Those action point gems are awesome. I had three with my warrior. Really wish we could figure out how to unlock the extra characters. Wondering if we it has to be beaten with everyone.
