I had this same bug happen to me. It happens in level 6 as well. It’s not game breaking as you can still access all the blocks behind it. Still loving this game. On level 6-3. This brought back my love of rpg match 3. I have been itching for one like this. I don’t follow the story, I just enjoy the match 3 combat system. As everyone has said the action point system here is awesome. Let’s not forget the weapon system. The merge is very cool. I like adding more health and more damage. Hoping to find a rare action gem out there. Only played with the warrior so far. Excited to give it a try with another character and see if there is a noticeable difference in gameplay. Don’t sleep on this one match 3 players. This deserves its game if the week and could be a game of the year contender.
On multiple occasions my merger failed. Which is really frustrating because you lose the gem. Doesn’t matter if you bought it or acquired during a fight, it’s just gone and it bothers me. I don’t know if some gems cannot be merged with a specific weapon or gear or is it by design, but again, the lack of tutorial is obvious. Also there was no response about the bug from the devs yet, so there might be no QoL improvements or fixes in the future which would be a shame.
Yes! This is the one big issue with the game is the failed merging. I have no idea why it fails. You lose the gem you just bought and the money it took to level up. I lost a damage gem of 2 and health of 30 back to back. some weapons take 4 upgrades I have one with 6. But there should be some indication of what can merge or how many merges a weapon can take. So I am super careful now. But at the moment I think all my current weapons are full.
It’s crazy you guys are losing gems. I’ve merged tons of gems with the archer’s weapons, armor, rings, etc. and every single one was successful.
I’m holding off atm. That bug sounds nasty. And the lack of a tutorial is also a negative. I’ve got enough frustration in my life without a game adding to it.
Missing gems? Smithy only adds gems to gear.Add gear to a slot above and gem to slot below. Or you dont have enough money
Can anyone explain how you do a multi-move? I can’t figure it out Does your weapon have a 1 action point ?
It’s suddenly become insanely difficult. Perhaps it's bad game design, maybe it's a sadistic developer, who knows? Level 8-6.
It’s certainly ramping up. I am stuck on 7-4. Boss is tough. The merge as much as love it, it’s becoming an issue. With no way to tell if the merge will take or not it makes it very scary later in the game. Really need a fix for that.

Just been comparing our stats all about the same except iron defence yours 44 percent overall. Mine 20 looks like I need to get gems to upgrade it also don’t have iron defence necklace
I’m a level 38 Warrior on 8-2. Just found the Gem I have been waiting for!! But nothing to attach it to at the moment lol. Really loving this game. Just wish there was some info on when a weapon is fully merged.
I switched from archer to thief and blew right through to the last zone where I'm currently grinding. The game isn't even remotely balanced between the two classes, being able to move tiles without being attacked is like a totally different game.
