EDIT: I talked with the team. While other front-facing camera devices in the iOS line will run the game, it appears as though Breach & Clear will not run on iPod 4. (Sucks, I know...I have one, too.)
Actually that's a very reasonable install size. I'm quite happy with that. Thanks for letting us know. I don't think that's what he said. The iPhone 4 does have a front facing camera and he did say I'd assume he was just making clear the iTouch 4, despite having a front facing camera, was the only such equiped device that wont run it. And that all others with a front facing camera would support it, including iPhone 4. So basically sounds like iPad 2 and above, iTouch 5 and above and iPhone 4 and above are the supported devices.
So devices of the same generation don't have the same specs? Why would the game run on an iPhone 4 but not an iPod 4? And what does a front facing camera have to do with running B&C?
The iPod 4 is actually weaker than the iPod 3 due to the retina screen (it's pushing twice the pixels with only marginally better hardware). The iPhone 4 on the other hand is actually an improvement over the previous generation. B&C uses a lot of texture memory due to the extensive customization, the extra memory on an iPhone 4 is an absolute necessity. The front-facing camera thing is actually a programming trick to block devices like the iPad 1. Unfortunately Apple doesn't provide devs with a way to directly block devices from purchasing the app - which leads to a lot of angry customers. It's unfortunate, to say the least.
Thanks for the info. Didnt know all that. I'm not that tech savvy so I just assumed all 4 devices had the same specs, all 5 devices, etc.
So do we have a released date yet? Will it be this week or is it being held back after approval to allow for promotion and hype etc?
