Such a great attitude to have. Got a lot of respect for you with that. You all seem keen to improve & streamline, I'm sure it'll continue to pay off.
I always hate to see it when devs get angry about reviews - reviews are valuable, negative or positive. We can't make Breach & Clear better without some semblance of negative criticism. It's imperative to make the best game possible.
If you ever do get hardcore mode in where if a soldier dies he dies could we possibly have a dog tag option? So we can see the soldiers that may have died during our campaigns
Hopefully it will get approved in time to be released within the next week. Keep your eyes on this thread for updates on status.
Totally, in the event we implement perma-death there would definitely need to be some way to display your fallen soldiers.
Awesome! I'm going to add another vote for permadeath. Gotta love the Xcom system. I need to play another mission, I'll leave a full review soon. Spoiler Spoiler This game is great
That's what I thought as well at first, but then I realised the ROF is very slow, over 1 second per shot, I think it was. I ditched it for faster-firing guns. Some of the high level/later guns are quite confusing -- they have a suppressor, but the noise rating is very high, much higher even than some guns without a suppressor. What's up with that? Does the suppressor still work in that instance? Is there a magic figure at which a suppressor stops being effective? Does anyone know if the mobility stats for a gun determine how many squares each operator can move during his turn? Or does mobility simply determine how quickly they acquire & engage tangos? Oh, I love this game BTW. If you guys could eventually code in some form of co-op multiplayer, that would be even more awesome. Maybe have two players, and each player controls 2 operators I hope in the next version the operators' loadout auto-restocks, as it's very tiresome to have to manually go in and equip them with flashbangs and frags after every mission (not to mention this isn't possible if you simply choose to continue the next mission after completing a successful one).
Suppressors just subtract from a gun's base noise value - they'll help lower any gun's noise, but a very loud gun (high ROF guns are our louder ones) will still be loud even when suppressed. Mobility affects both distance and acquire time, distance is impacted more heavily than acquire time, though. As for the consumables, we've got the basis for auto-restock in place (they will be expensed on the after action report rather than purchased in the marketplace), but still have work to do. You'll see it in update #2!
I'm seriously in awe of how good this game is and how much better it's going to get in the coming updates.
I felt the same way, but the low ROF started to bother me, so I gave the mk16 a shot and wow I like it a lot better. The accuracy might be slightly less but that's what attachments are for, but the increased ROF definitely makes up for the lower accuracy. Give it a shot.
Hey everyone. Should have the first of our community round up videos coming online later today/early tomorrow. Going to have news on our first update! Stay tuned .
Will the update be just the EXE part of the app, or all of it? I will be on 3G only from Saturday onwards and I wouldn't like to lose my free gold gun because of not updating and downloading the free IAP on time... I'd update directly from the device if it is <50MB.
The update will have to go through like any other update where the entire app has to be re-downloaded. Don't worry too much about it, though, as we will provide an ample amount of time to get the gold gun logged in your purchase history (at least a week). We'll keep it free even longer if you guys need us to.
Also, remember that you can get an even higher ROF with triggers and gas systems. You'll lose a bit of damage and gain some noise, but you can create guns that fire insanely fast. That tends to be how I build my guns when I play.
I'll be until the 31st August without WiFi, so I'll do my best to update ASAP. The partial updates only happen when updating through the device. I think Apple servers check which archives were changed between versions and you only download those. I was able to update GTA:VC that way through 3g. Hopefully with yours it will be the same. Nonetheless don't worry, I'll find a solution. Thanks for the offer though.
