Thanks for the response, Eli. I understand the skepticism towards future content promises - the best we can do right now is strive to meet those promises. I agree with Jeffrey's review, and wish we could have knocked out more content before release. Unfortunately, development hit a point where it was sink or swim - we had to release the game. After Saturday Morning RPG flopped sales wise, we had a point where we were really close to going out of business. The same thing might have happened had B&C not hit this month, though we have some other work we could have moved into.
Breach & Clear was nominated for Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Week poll. Developers may not vote for their own game. New user votes subject to review. You can vote for your favorite release from the week of July 18 here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2908798
I think the devs' responses to the review posted today and the general criticism that followed is admirable. It's nice when someone can take one on the chin and still keep cool and stay the course. I look forward to seeing this game evolve and hope it reaches its potential.
Making a basic load out (frags and medkits) cost silver is weak if for no other reason that I don't want to have to re-equip every soldier, every time. If there is enough money to be made per engagement to cover it then there's little point in making it cost silver any way.
Very kind words, thank you sir We welcome the honest and constructive critiques of our game, there is no improvement without that!
Totally agreed. I want B&C (and Mighty Rabbit) to win more than ever, and I hope my comments are helpful even if they are a bit...pointed.
My theory on this is, it's a game. And it gives you something to spend the money you earn on. Also I'm up to the expert missions and haven't used any grenades or flash bangs etc yet, (haven't got the full stars on all the missions yet) but I haven't found a need for them yet. I can see how they are going to help on the harder missions with more enemy's. But if they were free there would be no point in earning money as you'd have nothing to buy with it. Just my opinion.
I'm rooting for you guys, I think you've got quite a game here thats gonna earn a permanent spot on my 4S. I enjoyed SOCOM Tactical Strike on PSP and this has been the closest I've seen on IOS even though its turn-based. Yeah theres a few minor things such as the slow workbench menu and keeping the camera where you want it during gameplay, but those are minor issues. I respect the fact that you're active on these forums and willing to make adjustments. BTW I've bought most of the premium IAP mostly to help support development but especially the two patches, good thinking. Keep at it and good luck in your future endeavors.
Hey, to be considered next to Sine Mora....we're just happy you guys are liking it! If anyone else wants to contribute, please feel free, the support means a lot to the team!
Voted. And I have to admit it was a real tough week to pick one only considering there's 4 on that list that I'm enjoying immensely. You guys swung it for me with the level of honesty in the posts today from yourself and Josh and the original decision to move from freemium. The level of honesty and interaction on the previous subject of the review points, I have to say I respect and admire very much. It also goes without saying, but should be said anyway, that the game is lot of entertainment and fun and should be supported. So thanks for that guys.
+1 Even if a game isn't perfected upon release, an honest dev can sway a purchase for me Before this game, Undead Labs - the devs behind XBLA's State of Decay - was my most respected developer. They're down to earth, they're humble, they listen to their fans and constantly chat with the community Now Gun. is besides UL in that regard, IMO. Due to their decision to go premium and their excellent responses and presence in the forums
Thanks guys I don't do this cause its my job, I do it because I care. The same goes for Josh and everyone on the team right now. We do this because we love it, we do it because we want to do great games and we do it because we're going to push this title to be even better! Hearing you guys interact is a boost, we're happy to help and we're happy that you guys are enjoying the game!
I've got a question, I was just looking at picking up the patches, do they show up on your characters during the game or are they just a way to donate to the charity? And also will there be more badges to choose from in future? (If they do show in your characters)
They do show up in-game, however the shoulder they show up on isn't visible when looking at the main menu - the posture there was meant to show off the gun.
The Patches most definitely show up in game right now. Those patches in particular go on the left arm so you wont see them in your squad screen in the main menu but in game they will be there looking sexy as can be, and for a good cause! EDIT: I didn't even see that mightytruk beat me to it!
I take it the leaderboards are mostly hacked/fake scores because most of the top ones all have around 500,000 takedowns. Seems a bit suspicious that there all so close together.
Yeah, the leaderboards were hacked. I just removed the scores, but they'll probably just get hacked again in a day or two. There's really no easy way to fix this issue except to just ignore the obvious outliers. It's odd that most developers don't realize that you can actually delete hacked scores - either that or they just don't bother to fight the inevitable. I don't know.
