Any chance we can get leaderboards for speedruns? Maybe one leaderboard for each country's Normal or Hard or something.
Love the game, got the silver doubler instantaneously (didn't feel like cheating by leveling up twice as fast and gaining special perks). I also like that the developers are checking the forums so I might as well throw a small suggestion in: Remembering preferred view angle. While I got enough space on my iPad, the dynamic view is a little fuzzy and awkward at times, so I usually always swap to top view. Also I would like to rearrange my team's order permanently. I didn't check -all- the other pages so it may have been mentioned already. Really looking forward to seeing all the new content and fixes! Only thing I'm a little sad about is the fact that I know how tedious programming can be, and thusly, how long it'll take for the game modes and whatnot to be filled. I believe you left a little too many placeholders/teasers.
Glad we're getting people into the genre! B&C was built to accessible without sacrificing too much depth. It's a great starter before moving into something as complex at FS. X-Com is a bit different, but still a really incredible game. Don't forget about us after moving onto the bigger guys!
We're going to be gradually updating the game with new things, the new game modes are big targets - but while we're working towards them, we will be releasing smaller updates with new gear, weapons, enemies, bug fixes, etc. The update we're submitting on Wednesday will include quite a bit of new stuff! We'll look into storing the camera setting - maybe we'll just leave it set until you hit the button (even in between missions). That shouldn't be too hard to do.
The first big thing we are going to look into is wait nodes - some kind of way you can tell your guy to sit still for a while before continuing to move. After that we can look into more complex systems - the catch is that we have to make sure we don't over complicate things. Even with the wait nodes we're going to have to do a lot of iterating and careful design to make sure we create something that is intuitive and instantly understood. Now that I'm thinking about it, I do actually think we can figure out a way to allow both half speed and normal movement to take place on a single path. We've got something in the works that this might be able to be rolled into.
We're working on re-implementing that into the game - we previously had something that would allow you to do this, but it never hit the quality we wanted. I'm hoping we can get it sorted out at some point over the course of the next two updates.
Breach & Clear is like Frozen Synapse, but with a better interface and realism based setting, rather than the cyberpunk thing going on in that other game. Get Breach & Clear if you like the setting of special operations operatives versus terrorists, and enjoy planning tactical plans for your guys, like in the original Rainbow 6, or to a lesser extent, the tactics games like XCom and Jagged Alliance. However, the lack of story sucks, but that could be a nod to realism where in real life the spec ops just get told to go to location and kill every single living thing. *bloodlust*
Is this considered an SRPG? I'm tempted to buy this but something holding me back, like will I enjoy it, is it too complex, how are the controls, etc!
Any recommendations on what weapons or attachments to get? It seems like the weapons and attachments generally up on stat and lower another. Looking at the stats alone, I've not seen a clear reason to upgrade from the default rifle. I'm nearing the end of the China missions and can do them at higher difficulties with the stock weapon. Related but different, is what advantage do the different team member stats afford? I've been mainly upgrading accuracy (hitting is good, increases chance of crit hit perhaps?) and health (gotta keep em in the green or yellow if possible). And...in a surprise to me, my boys (7 and 10) are really enjoying this game! For them, I think it feels a bit like a grown up Spymouse. And that is a good thing
I have been upping accuracy and reaction. First my guys react faster then they shoot dead to sights. Tango down...
Same here accuracy and reaction. Is what I've been putting points into, didn't bother with health as my thinking is that I shouldn't be getting hit in the first place. I've put some into evasion too
