Any new game modes we add will be free updates once you've purchased the game, trust me when I say the game is not reverting to any freemium ideologies
Thanks for your quick reply! So glad to hear you moved away from Freemium! Any thoughts about adding a brief purpose or scenario summary to each mission? Context per mission could provide the additional purpose and not make this just get the terrorist which is definitely a more general and generic idea.
I think we'll approach this by displaying a brief scenario for each mission in the loading screen between the menu and the mission. Right now it just displays a military fact or game tip, it would make sense to show a bit of story here. We've also had some other ideas about how to add more context to the game. Now that I've seen all the criticism, this is definitely high on my priority list. I don't want this to be (as mentioned earlier in the thread), Russell Crowe's Fightin' 'round the World. We definitely need to figure out a reason for the missions.
I was friends with a few of the people who were making 6 Days in Fallujah (which was unfortunately cancelled), in fact one of the head guys on it helped me start my company! It was a really interesting game that allowed you to see the events of Fallujah from both sides. B&C, in it's current state, definitely needs to provide more context for the events happening. It was not our intent to create something inherently insensitive, and I hope we can fix that in the future.
I don't know if this has been said already, but, dragging speed could be sped up a little. Right now, it's way too slow. An option that I would like to request is a top-down camera view. The reason I request a top-down camera view is because of how slow and laggy the camera appears to be. Maybe include a camera icon, where upon tapping, it switches between a top-down and the default angled view?
I pitched something like this a few weeks before launch, but we didn't have enough time to pull it off. I really like the idea of a 24-esque PiP presentation.
The 3D cube icon on the screen during the planning phase (in the lower left) will actually let you switch to a top-down view. I'm wishing we'd called it out in the tutorial, as it is very easy to miss.
From what I read, freemium was ditched in this one because it destroyed all the experience. I bought all the one-time IAP's because I like the game and want to support devs to get all the extra game modes and regions seen in the map. I paid 7.15 in total, but I don't regret at all. I paid 18 for XCom and I don't regret either. I've had many hours of enjoyment from XCom (and still do!), and I hope to get the same from B&C
I just tried out the cube. Based off of that, I have a few comments/requests about how to improve the functionality of the game, if you can even call it that. Edit: Functionality requests, that is, haha. 1) Change the 3D cube icon into an actual camera icon. I wouldn't have known what it did until you told me what it did. Why was it a cube instead of a camera in the first place though? 2) Have the option to turn on virtual buttons for rotating the screen & zooming. It's just a personal preference to only want to zoom or rotate one at a time, rather then at the same time. The first wouldn't be too hard to change imo, just swap out the cube icon and replace it with a camera icon. If the second takes up more resources then you have to use, I won't be sad, it's just a personal preference. Otherwise, great game!
The South China Seas campaign also stands out because the missions flow from one to the next cohesively, and feel like they're directly connected in a way that the levels in the other campaigns aren't. In addition to scenario descriptions, I'd suggest keeping future campaign design in that vein to help maintain a sense of progression.
I'd like to thank the developers for truly being active with your gamers! I am pleased to see you looking at suggestions and evaluating what you believe may enhance our experience. As an old school gamer from the pong days and now being married I have less time to play games and am more selective. Thank you for your dedication and willingness to work with your gamers!
Thank you for your feedback! We'll see what we can do, but those kind of camera tweaks might not be workable. You have my word the team will explore options though! You'll be seeing that more with future updates. We'll be working to possibly include story elements as well Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to everyone on the team! We hope we can continue to deliver a fun game as we move forward! Brazil does not allow realistic shooters in country....we apologize! Hey everyone! I've gone through every single comment, and we as a development/publishing team have compiled a list of bugs encountered and comments and concerns as well as suggestions. You'll be pleased to know a lot of them are being considered! Can't wait to get post launch info to you!
Game Impressions Been playing for the last two days. On vacation, got R6 Raven Shield on Steam waiting for me back home, but Breach and Clear has made the wait to get home so much easier and fun. This is an awesome game. I posted my concerns and comments on other pages (hard to see split group on small screen, certain features and tutorial unclear) but overall this is well worth the 1.99 (and I would have gladly paid the 3.99) Getting my ass kicked on the harder difficulties, but definitely getting better. A lot of tactical depth in a bite sized package. I especially love the animations, how the unit stacks up at a door, how they change direction to face where you aimed them, how they peek out from behind cover. The touch controls are also very good. I actually prefer this waypoint over FS, because you select a node on the ground rather than having to be super precise Very excited to see what comes next in this game and from Gun. What I want to see added most is a video replay function, so I can watch my plan play out from beginning to end, switch to action camera, zoom in close, etc. Also needs a way to erase entire plan and set a new one. Any chance of having the action phase play out in action camera (behind the back like the App Store image below)? http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/000/Purple2/v4/59/41/b2/5941b2aa-7832-3ab4-7eec-7c0d11869376/mzl.xmpqanuu.1024x1024-65.jpg
I 100% agree with the last person's suggestion regarding video replays. One of the main things I'd like to see (other than cloud saves) is a replay of the previous move along with a full replay of the entire mission at the end. It'd also be cool to be able to save those full mission replays and maybe upload them to YouTube or something, along with a tag automatically added to the end telling people to find the game on the AppStore. : )
Working on improving that camera. It wasn't what we wanted at launch, so we're working on it right now!
