Active developers engaging the community, makes me glow inside. So I have played through all the missions thus far thoughts: 1. Nice variety, I love the boat sections, I would hope to see some outdoor areas in the future, along with rooftops of skyscrapers. I loved the R6 novel and the idea of Hostage Rescue in a theme park always seemed cool. 2. Pistols, SMG's, make it so 3. More customization would be nice, more camo's (black, dark blue), differnent typrs of headwear such as balaclavas and night optics. 4. SAS, GSG9 etc... This is the kind of team I want to make:
Do you think they'll include a parallel story of a freedom fighter, going up against an invading evil empire? Instead of state of the art body armor and high tech equipment you could get rusty old surplus from a bygone era and call upon the spirits of your family, who were all killed by a hellfire drone strike! Maybe I could put that idea toward the developers. That would definitely make for an engaging narrative. Don't you think?
Err.... That'd be a whole other game because that'd be totally new weapons and textures and everything. And this game is a more of the "support the soldiers" thing and that idea sounds almost the opposite..
Sorry. I reloaded the game after exiting and the mission went off fine. I heard enemy gunfire but there were no visible enemies in the rooms. If it happens again will grab a screenshot. It's on an ipad 3 with latest version of ios 6
I've really enjoyed this game, at least what I have been able to play. Unfortunately I've been experiencing a lot of crashing on my iPad mini. Maybe once on the last level of Afghanistan, which I really dismissed, but last night as I was playing through turkey it crashed as I pressed the play mission button at least 8 different times. Finally I just skipped turkey and went to china and played the first level there and stopped playin after that. (It was late at night) other than that im really enjoying the game just frustrating going through the load out screen and getting ready to play then crash after crash. Just thought I should post about it as I haven't really seen anyone haven't crash issues. Definitely enjoying the game thought. The potential this game has with future updates is going to be awesome.
While the developers are working on the cinematic cameras, one thing I'd love to see (if only for iPads) is an optional picture-in-picture arrangement that follows the action each round. Basically, once you hit "Breach" each team member would appear in a separate window with their own dedicated behind-the-back camera, showing you the action from their point of view from start to finish. I've mocked up an example of a level-starting breach with this PiP in effect:
That's a very cool idea Appletini. I think it's fair to say that until we get a way to see every detail of what the micromanagement of our team is achieving, B&C will continue to feel a little underwhelming after hitting Breach
Not overly enthused by sports or racing games, frothy Facebook-type "social" games, wargames based on actual real-world wars, or Street Fighter-type fighting games. ^_-
Will we have more types of upcoming ballistic vests avaliable apart from army certified ones, like Spectra, Dragon Skin , Twaron, etc ? Also will they be modular, so we can put in more ceramic or steel plates into them ? What about being able to not only kill hostiles, but if you stun them or neutralize enough of their support in a room, their moral drops and rest that are still alive are willing to surrender ?
I definitely recommend this game! But I'm having a hard time playing it on my iPhone 4. It's very difficult for the game to detect my inputs. A lot of the times I try to zoom in or out and it rotates the screen at best. When trying to set multiple waypoints I press and hold the beacon and try to drag to change direction and all it does is drag the screen. I know this game shines brightest on an iPad, but all I have for now is the iPhone and some tweaks on the controls would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!
Laser squad! YES! You must be old like me, ha ha! I played that game to death. Did you ever play lords of Chaos after it? Great game and kinda like a mix of LS and Chaos. The Gollop brothers go down in the heros of gaming history for me
First, let me say I'm really enjoying this game and recommend it despite some of the critiques provided in this thread. Playing this on my iphone 4s as it won't run on my ancient 1st gen ipad. At least it's playable on the phone, where I didn't feel the same with Xcom. My one feeling I can't shake though is that this game was meant to be freemium or will be soon enough. When I see coin doublers and exp doublers in a paid game, app store history reveals only one thing. Was freemium and decided to charge an entry fee to early adopters and/or will be a free game sooner rather than later. Again, very much enjoying this game and can recommend it based on the quality and fun I'm having with this game, but just wish I didn't get that "freemium" feel when I look in the game's market...I'm not even saying you need those doublers like you do in other free games as I haven't completed the game or come across any pay walls/grinding but the fact they are in there worries me a little....
^^i don't agree, with the doubters make it feel freemium as I played through crabitron which also has doubters and even triplers and never felt like I needed them. There just like currency in games, where its there for the lazy people or people who don't have time to play lots and just want some cool equipment fast. Versus mode like frozen synapse would be cool but I'm not sure about co-op as a game that could have played out in seconds then turns into a game that lasts 3days or more.
Excellent mock-up. Posted a similar idea some pages back, cause I'm playing on iPhone and it's impossible to see both teams unless I'm zoomed all the way out (and that's not cool). Half the time, I can only focus on one team and can't see what happens with my other breach And yes, a more in-depth tutorial would be nice. Either playable scenarios or written blurbs. Also maybe a quick guide from the options menu if we need a quick reminder Also what are advantages of half speed over normal?
I hope you're right. As I said, it's just a feeling I get when I see it in the market. I haven't felt the need for it and am even considering purchasing one just to throw a few extra bucks as I'm enjoying the game but it's just a fear I have based on app store history and behaviour. Just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening Now I can go back to enjoying this game once again
Interesting review although a bit harsh 1) thanks for making this universal but iCloud support would be great! I love how x-com has done it as it is easy to go back and forth from iPhone to iPad! 2) although this review is slightly to critical it does have a few points such as a) short purpose for each mission could allow a better story or at least a reason for each mission b) the inclusion of Hostage Rescue and Bomb Defusal which aren't playable and would add more depth to the game. --- a bit concerned that the original intent from the publisher was to switch from Freemium to paid and the publishers got a lot of praise for this decision but may charge for these add ons which would make this game more complete. Seems to me as a few other forum users stated that I am pleasesd with less Freemium but and usually stay away from iap games but felt that this one chose the right thing by moving how paid but I hope this hybrid model stays toward additional guns & other items are obtained quicker by choice but not required is fine but not make each new section as episodic. http://venturebeat.com/2013/07/18/breach-and-clear-review/
