I see there's devs about in the forum, a quick question is there any chance this'll get updated to work on the 4th gen touch at any point? Thanks.

Having said that given there are 3 games I want today that aren't compatible I suspect it might be time for an upgrade......

We're going to see what we can do about those who purchase now and play later...though at this time, it does not seem to be the case.

We might be able to get it running. Going to be doing some tweaks to the UI down the road to better optimize the game. It could very well work for other systems, but at this time nothing is concrete.

Don't forget though, the iPod 4th Gen is literally 3 years old, that's almost half the time for the current console cycle ;).

Yeah I know. Time for me to upgrade :)

Edit: decided not to buy it cause I don't want something that doesn't work on my device.

Thanks very much for the reply, I've been meaning to upgrade to an iPad for ages but I'm currently stuck in the rut of thinking there'll be a new one out soon so ill wait for that one!

I upgraded from iPod 4g to iPad 4 and its the best thing I ever did, never looked back, I still have my iPod for playing random LCD games and stuff but the iPad is amazing especially if you've been playing only iPod for a few years.

The problem with that thinking is that there will ALWAYS be another one "out soon" so if you wait until you are "current" you will never end up getting one. You just have to realize that WHICHEVER version you finally decide to get, it will be old withing a year and obsolete within two.

First off, absolutely loving the game so far. Only a few missions in, but even on the easy setting it's challenging and the customizability of it is awesome. Def reminds me on Full Spectrum Warrior from the original Xbox, which I loved. One thing I'd like to see improved is the font size in the pre-mission screens. On an iPad it's not a problem, but I'm usually on my iPhone 5, and the font size is so small its barely legible. Aside from that, no other complaints. Keep the updates coming.

Also, are you planning an Android version? I also have a Galaxy S4 and would LOVE to see this game with that screen. Let me know if you need any beta testers.

The 4th gen devices will be 3 on September 1st if you bought them on day 1. They are still being sold in major retail stores. My kids just got their ipod touch systems last year... and none of them have even owned them for a year.

Granted it may be hard to support lower end devices, but the 4th gen devices are still heavily in use, still being sold, and manage to run games that are much more heavily intensive than this game.

Add to all of this, I think that the 4th gen was probably the most highly sold gen of ipod touch systems thus far. That's a pretty big market to pass on.

I'm so glad that it wasn't just me, because I had a real feeling of "full spectrum warrior" when I started playing this last night.

Can't wait to see some of the new content like the hostage rescue missions.

Purchased this game in order to support the developers and their decision to charge a price and not turn this into an IAP nightmare.

    Very happy about that :)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Apple already officially discontinued the 4th gen and replaced it with a 16gb 5th gen without a rear camera. So 4th gen is legacy now.
Any left in retail now are only old stock as production stopped a good while ago on it.
Its just worth noting, don't buy one now basically from the left over retail stock.

Its going to get even less support now that its out of production.
I know that doesn't change many people's scenarios which is unfortunate.

If you already knew that, sorry, its only meant as general information for anyone considering a retail purchase of one. Get the 5th gen 16gb instead.

Edit. Sorry for the off topic.

Unfortunately Apple really made the 4th Gen iPod the red headed step child. Couldn't even give it equivalent hardware as the iPhone 4, gave it half the RAM, which really makes it touch to optimize for when you're working towards a certain standard.

Unfortunately, the big problem with the iTouch 4 is that it is actually less powerful than the iTouch 3. They doubled the screen resolution without doubling the processor or memory. The result is that some games will run fine on iTouch 3, but crash on iTouch 4. This actually happened with our last game, Saturday Morning RPG. It's unfortunate, because you can still buy iTouch 4 devices at stores like Target and Wal-Mart. They're only $20 cheaper than the iTouch 5, but it still means the market for iTouch 4 is still growing.

We definitely know were missing out on a big market, it will just be very hard to get everything optimized to work on the iTouch 4. It may happen during our move to Android, so keep your eyes peeled.

One thing I've noticed the more I'm playing is I'd like an option to lock the half walk speed, as changing it every turn for each character is getting on my nerves and my rushing is getting me killed.

Also an option to either be kneeling or stood up would be good.
