Leadership increases the range of a Fireteam Leader's inherent "Close Knit" perk which boosts your team member's stats when they are near him. Explosives increases the range a grenade can be tossed, the range a breach charge is effective, and the damage those do. Proficiency increases a Weapons Sergeant's damage for all guns. Intimidation decreases the likelihood an enemy would try to target that soldier and gives him a boost to acquiring enemy targets.
Multiplayer will likely be through GameCenter or hand-rolled by us, Google Play services would be a cloud save option.
Nothing intentional (jailbreakers are customers too, no reason to try and ruin that!), but we don't have jailbroken devices to test on. On another note, there is a known crash issue with the iOS 7 beta, which will be fixed if it is present in the final release of that OS.
Yes, if you equip your entire squad with suppressed weapons and breach with a lockpick - you can take out unsuspecting enemies with stealth. We're hoping to make stealth play more robust in the future.
Ok I think I'm going to get this if so... Do you get a stealth bonus? Like if you don't alert any enemies? Kinda like the bonus u get in Far Cry 3 for not alerting enemies when clearing an outpost?
I'm really enjoying it so far but wondered how it handles save data. For instance, I've bought 4 copies of the limited edition golden gun, but if I were to ever delete the app and reinstall, I'm assuming they'd be gone forever? So unless a cloud save option is in the works it looks like I'll lose out on my "early adopter" golden guns when I upgrade my iphone. Sad days.
Sigh. No iPod 4 support. On a PC, I can turn down the graphics options and play even the most recent games on my crappy six year old computer, but not so wIth iOS. EDIT: Just read through some of the thread. Glad you guys are considering those with older devices!
I think this would only be needed on smaller screen devices, but maybe some kind of split screen feature when you breach two different rooms at once? Playing on my iphone 4, but I cant see both breaches at once without zooming all the way out, or I can only focus on one room. Or maye like a picture-in-picture type thing: you can focus on one room, while still seeing what happens with your other breach Anyone get what I'm saying? Also some things are not explained clearly. I wouldn't have known about the camera angle icon if not for this thread and that is a very useful tool But overall an awesome game. Can't wait to play those other game modes when they're available
Woke up this morning to see a lot of comments, a lot of critiques and a lot of opinions and I could not be more happy! (Shouldn't have slept, lol.) Seriously everyone, we're blown away by the praise, but getting to the knitty-gritty we can really start to focus on what needs improvement and what needs to be looked at. We'll be going over each and every comment to look into the problems that people are encountering!
Just got the game now at selection screen.. Took navy seal and was immediately turn off by the looks of my squad.. Come on!!!! Where are the ladies.. And half the squad look like they are high in dope...
Correct me if I am wrong is this game in windows 8 too? It looks like the tiles interface of windows 8 very nice...
Breach & Clear takes a slightly realistic approach...so women are not allowed in Special operations at this time. Of course, with politics changing...so could Breach & Clear . There is no Windows 8 release we're afraid...but thank you for your compliment! Our UI designer will be happy to know!
Tutorial bugged I can't seem to get by the bit in the tutorial where you learn how to adjust where your guy is looking. After the second soldier, I'm unable to select the final two.
Is there a way to replay an action phase? When something goes wrong ("uh, did the medic always have these holes in his face?") I often have no idea what went down. Being able to move the camera to another room and see how it played out would be great. (I can see limiting it to once per operator and leaving out slow-down, in order to preserve the go-go-go-react-go-go-go pacing. Because that pacing is awesome. And I like awesome things.) Some way to compare items would be good too, and perhaps help make sense of some oddities. (The JTF2 variant of the Canadian carbine seems strictly worse stat-wise, but the description and picture indicate that it's just had a desert camo paint job.)
There is an orange arrow that indicates where it wants you to look at. We've been hearing a bit about this, and will be updating the Tutorial soon as we're able! The camera has complete control for the user, but we're exploring the option for instant replays. We won't be having a 'do-over,' to keep the realism and challenge going . As for guns; many are stat driven, others are cosmetically driven. The main jist is that the user is the largest driver of success, not the weapons. They'll help you out, no doubt about it, but it's up to you as the user to complete the mission! Hope that helps?
I have only played two times, and it was the same mission twice on the easiest difficulty. Enemies weren't in the same places. I went inside a room in which in my first game there was a terrorist with a hostage, but there wasn't anyone in it on my second playthrough. They were all in another room in which I luckily set my soldiers to look around everywhere. Got 4 stars the second time around (3 stars the first time). I'm an XCom addict lately, that's why I have given this one a try. As it's already been mentioned, they are quite different and you don't play the same way in both of them. In XCom you shoot and get shot by turns, but in Breach and Clear you shoot and get shot at the same time. It's a quite different experience. Both games will stay in my device quite some time I think I'll possibly buy all the optional IAP's, but I still have to play one or two more rounds to be sure (I have only been able to enjoy 5-10 mins overall, which turned out as 19 seconds of real time action ).
In-game currency is 1K silver. That can be earned in one mission. We Do Not make the currency feel like you have to get IAPs. Those are purely at your discretion. Everything can be unlocked in a reasonable amount of time, so please enjoy!
