Darn, i seem not to get lucky with this game. My next problem...iphone 5s, 8.4.1 How can i get 5 hearts with my doubler (smash 25 walls), and a few games later only 1 heart (twice)? Ok, radical new start. I reinstalled the game, rebooted and did a device restart, restored my doubler...same unsatisfying result. I get odd numbers. Any possible explanation, Devs? Edit: I don't expect the free gifts to be doubled (most games don't), but i should expect it from every reward, no? I only get 1 heart per reward from a part of a mission (?), though i'm a bit confused about this, still, since i didn't dive into the game too deep yet.
At first I thought "great another looty dungeon crossy roadish type clone", but then I wasn't able to put it down for an hour and now I'm pretty hooked on it. Very fun game, dev! Good work.
Thought the same as most of you did: "oh hey, nice Crossy clone, but I will give it a try anyways.". Pleasantly surprised to have a lot of fun with this one. Very nice effects and some unique modifications to the well known formular of Crossy roads. Four things bother me though: - no mifi support! (Crossy roads is so much fun with a controller and with this game being more complex I expected mifi to be there, very disappointed to not see it in the game, I hope it will be added soon) - the blue bar on the chest opening seems like there should be a texture for the back of the chest, which is missing, or it should be a glow which just does not look nice, idk and this is a super nitpicky thing to point out) - serious character descriptions (I have a goblin and I have no idea what it does differently than the knight and the funny descriptions are indeed funny, but I would really like to know the difference between my characters) - the timer after a game to spend hearts to continue (I clicked on it a few times unintentionally and lost some hearts, would love a confirmation message or a 2 button system without the forced downtime of a few seconds, really messes up the fast pacing of the game imo, just a quick restart button would go a very long way). I really like the battle and level up system and overall feel of the gameplay, very good Job. I am waiting for mifi support to give you devs some money hope that is fine with you. Overall: highly recommended and even more so with mifi support! (Did I already point out, how good mifi support would be? ) Good luck with the game devs! Hope you find success.
Hey Qwertz -- Chris can correct me if I'm wrong (I'll check with him later too), but I don't believe the Heart doubler is meant to double *all* heart rewards. For example, it wouldn't give you 2x as many hearts out of the heart pack you purchased either, nor the bonus chests. I don't believe for quests it doubles the output of hearts either. So that's why you'd see odd numbers still for some of those bonuses. But in-game hearts (that drop on the ground and can be collected) -- You should notice that when you get one of those, the # of hearts in the top-right corner increases by 2 instead of 1 now. If not, let us know because that would certainly be unintended behavior!
I hafta say that the hero Drago is pretty sweet! I can attack and kill everything as long as its from behind with no limits as to how often. Oh, and one time I was just standing around (for some reason) and a giant ass killer dragon (I think) showed up at the bottom of the screen to help "motivate" me to get a move on! lol I guess that's to deter you from sitting in one place too long in order to keep the pace moving.
Thanks for answering JD_ Also, in my earlier post i said that i don't need the heart doubler, but as stated from the Devs, the game really gets very challenging. I definitely will need it, if i ever want to see more of what this game has to offer, region wise and maybe enemies behaviour wise too. @forsakenxe I agree with having a second button for an immediate skip, better yet replay, though you can skip it (after 2 seconds) by tapping the screen. If they will implement a button, it should be VERY comfortable to reach with my left thumb. Keep it a one-hander game.
A suggestion to the devs: when we get a duplicate hero from the cauldron, how about granting some extra XP to that character? (The hearts could be granted if the char is already maxed up). I've already put some 12 hours on this game, according to the stats! Just beaten my best with one life.. I was trying to advance carefully but was surprised by a sneaky goblin, damn!
According to the game's description heroes are supposed to get an special ability at max level (20?). I just reached lv 10 with Mindy last night and got the message below..
I didn't even realize it was possible to get duplicates! I've gotten 10 so far with no duplicate characters.
Yep, the Cauldron is like a gamble. There is a chance you'll get a duplicate, but a chance you'll get a very awesome new hero . Obviously the more Heroes you own, the more frequent your duplicate rolls will become. I like the idea of giving something back for when you roll a duplicate, but have to discuss with the team what that could be. At the end of the day, we want it to be a gamble when you use the cauldron, so there has to be some sort of perceived loss IMO. Keep the feedback coming! We love it <3 -Josh
After not planning on downloading this, I haven't played anything else since I did. And after telling myself I wasn't going to spend any money on it, I've already bought the coin doubler, and three legendary characters. So... great job guys! Here's my comment, though. I still feel like i'm missing big parts of the game. I don't understand what a lot of the characters do or how they work. And I'm not sure I understand what all the items on the playfield are, and how certain triggers operate. I think an in-game wiki, especially after you've unlocked a character, would go a really long way. I'm thoroughly enjoying this, and I want to make sure I do so to its full potential. One other thought, how about a game mode without the dragon forcing you to move forward quickly? I kinda want a chance to explore the lush world you've created... and I can't without getting roasted.
Have you all considered a better control mechanism to move laterally? Tapping works well to move forward quickly, but moving left and right with swipes slows me down and gets me killed sometimes. One that might work would be to divide the screen, tap on the left side to go left, center is forward, right side is right. And then swipe to go backwards as the speed is usually less of an issue with this move.
One thing that might help with the exploration is knowing a few rules. First, every step North delays the dragon (as you're effectively putting distance between yourself and the dragon). Next, for every enemy you kill, it slows the dragon down. So in the event there is a particularly crowded area and you want to take your time with it, it behooves you to kill enemies. Lastly, for every Coin you collect, it also delays the dragon. So in the event you do discover some secret areas and get a huge salvo of coins (or chests) as rewards, you'll be delaying the appearance of the guardian dragon as well. All the explorable areas are accessible with the current dragon timer in place. But one thing we're doing with an update is slowing down the appearance of the dragon a little bit for early game. This should allow new players a little more time to learn and master the controls and enemy movement pathing without feeling too rushed. Keep an eye out for that update hopefully later this week! (Though, depending on how far you've gotten, the settings we're tweaking may go unnoticed. They're really meant for new players). Sounds like you probably have mastered the basics of the game.
I second a more zen-like game mode! Would be cool Any info on mifi support? Sadly you didn't reply to my post, may have overlooked it, so no biggy.
Update There's an update coming soon that addresses a number of bugs, some balance tweaks, and improved resolution on iPhone 6 devices!
What secrets have you guys found? My high score is only 637, so I feel like there is much I haven't seen.
