Looks like the ball is floating down the lane This is something so basic and fundamental and the hardware is more than capable of shadows, so why can't the developer see this??? There are tons of bowing games on the App Store and most get it right. Shame this doesn't look a little better, I was thinking about getting it before Quazonk Well-Known Member Mar 30, 2011 1,102 4 38 #5 Quazonk, Jan 14, 2015 No kidding, the animation of the ball traveling down the lane looks like something out of the alpha version of the game. Too bad, I was gonna pick this one up. V for Viennetta Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Nov 9, 2013 66 0 6 Male near the door #6 V for Viennetta, Jan 14, 2015 Shadows aside (I'm sure the devs will be able to resolve this in an update), has anyone tried this with AirPlay? I'm guessing AirPlay is more suitable for iPhone users rather than iPad users for this game? I can just see me accidentally flinging my iPad into the fireplace... worldcitizen1919 Well-Known Member Jun 27, 2012 1,615 0 36 #7 worldcitizen1919, Jan 14, 2015 Nothing special. Quite boring really. They could have made it so much more and included AI opponents and leagues. As it is it's just like every other bowling sim out there. One thing I hated was when I failed a level a window popped up offering 2 more extra shots for $1.29 I might delete this as it's no fun without some sort of league. Not recommended. Basically a waste of money with iap to progress. Capronissimo71 Well-Known Member Sep 5, 2011 1,305 137 63 Male Italy #8 Capronissimo71, Jan 15, 2015 A funny bowling game, simple to play. Grafica and physics are fine. Grist Well-Known Member Nov 7, 2008 362 25 28 VP of Marketing Massachusetts #9 Grist, Jan 15, 2015 Waste of money This is one of the worst bowling games available in the App Store. The pin physics are far from realistic, there is no way to turn off the incredibly annoying and repetitive musical soundtrack, there is only one bowling alley offered for the purchase price, there is no Game Center connectivity or even tracking of ones high score, no AI opponents to bowl against, no way to disable the frequent instant replays and simply no fun. The developer has a nerve charging $2.99 for this inferior game. sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,457 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #10 sugimulm, Jan 15, 2015 Game Impressions Got a code and I would like to thank the Devs, here are my impressions... I am not an avid bowler, haven't bowled for over 20 years, the physics (IMHO) are high quality and the game itself is fun! Focusing on gameplay, not your traditional 10 frame bowling game. A new twist to bowling, add the puzzle aspects, great concept and implementation. I do enjoy the challenge and gameplay, it's not your "run of the mill" bowling game, although it would be nice to play a normal game. Airplay, its not going to replace your Wii, but pretty darn close. The only issue is sound, not sure if I hooked it up right, but no sound on my TV. Use your phone (point and tilt) in the side of the lane you want, then "tap". Go through your swing while pressing and holding your phone (do not let go) and swing away. BE CAREFUL and DO NOT destroy your TV or phone, lol. Amid all the concerns of animation, I can see what others are saying, maybe tweak the ball animation, it does look a little weird. Great job and thank you for making me a part of this gem, call me addicted, lol. All in all I would have invested in the $2.99 price tag, just because the difference and puzzle element the game offers. A few tweaks here and there and this could have massive potential. worldcitizen1919 Well-Known Member Jun 27, 2012 1,615 0 36 #11 worldcitizen1919, Jan 15, 2015 Didn't Gameloft used to have a bowling game with AI opponents as well? I'm sorry I bought this as it's just too generic with no competitions. This is as 'no frills bowling' as you can possibly get. I was expecting a lot of depth as I couldn't imagine, with today's competitiveness that someone would release a game as basic as this and expect people to pay for it and they even have IAP. If you get stuck you'll be offered a couple more turns for $1.29. Definitely not recommended. I thought this had depth as in their write up they alluded to competitions but that was just misleading. fiskadoro Well-Known Member Jan 1, 2009 326 17 18 Chicago, IL #12 fiskadoro, Jan 15, 2015 Last edited: Jan 15, 2015 Hmm. Interesting reactions so far. Seems like people who got promo codes or beta-tested it like it a lot but those who bought it from the App Store, now it's available to all, are not so keen. I might give it a bit more time and look out for updates. background Well-Known Member Dec 2, 2012 405 0 16 Auditor #13 background, Jan 15, 2015 Got the chance of early access to the game, like the game, you can choose from puzzle stages and classic bowling. The control is smooth, and the puzzle element is a great add to the game. I hope multiplayer or VS AI mode can be added to the game in later updates. coolpepper43 ð® Spam Police ð Aug 31, 2012 4,615 7 38 On the toilet #14 coolpepper43, Jan 15, 2015 Just let everyone know, I think that the in app purchase in this game is completely optional and it should not really sway anyone from getting this. Late last night I posted a highly negative review on this forum that was based primarily on issues related to the "Classic Bowling" mode of this game, and influenced by being too sleepy to make a fair assessment. After spending more time this morning with the other mode, which offers a series of scoring challenges that have stationary and moving obstacles on the alley, I'm feeling better about my purchase. Below is a less-grumpy/sleepy review I've submitted to the App Store: There are two modes of bowling built into this game. The Classic Bowling mode has several issues that make it far less enjoyable and realistic than many other bowling games in the App Store. However, the other mode, which requires avoidance of stationary and moving obstacles, introduces challenges that set this game apart and make it fun to play. Shortcomings of the Classic Bowling mode are as follows: The pin physics are far from realistic, there is no way to turn off the incessantly annoying music soundtrack, there is only one bowling alley, there is no Game Center connectivity or even tracking of ones high score, no AI opponents to bowl against, and no option to permanently disable the frequent instant replays. If the developer chooses to address all of these shortcomings, I will revise my review and 3-star rating. Even if he just introduces an option to turn off the mind-numbing music, I will raise my rating.
