No, I completely agree that there has always been a hefty IAP (albeit not required) component to the game. So as long as they don't mess with the balance then going freemium should be no big deal anyway. Just as long as they don't mess with it. And, yeah, it could be possible that Freyr wasn't aware of Google Play's policy. But freemium or not, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best.
To be honest, I'm not invested in the game so whatever happens doesn't really affect me other than deciding weather or not to give it a try. It's not like I need more games.
I havent played this for a while now as i reached level 20 and finished all the missions so theres no more to do. I did buy an IAP as a 'thanks' to the dev as i really got my fun out of this game. At first i had to grind a fair bit but since the update they're much more generous. Also the trick is to play multiplayer, when i was level 12 for example i did quite a few maps with level 18 or 19 players, so i could complete the missions and gets tons of experience. There were some issues, if an enemy was just one level above me it felt like they were much tougher than me, used to waste tons of ammo trying to defeat someone above me. If i was level 12 and they were 13 the i should be able to beat them quite easily, but it felt like they were 5 or so levels above. But a great game, really enjoyed it, still got it on my device in case theres a major update with new missions/levels etc. But well worth the money, i'm now singing the tune in my head as i'm so used to it ! For me it was one of those great moments in iOS gaming, a really playable Borderlands-ish type game. Really liked it
This is not explained clearly at all in the game but usually the problem is your weapon's level, not your own. If an enemy is just a couple levels higher than the level of your gun, the gun will only do a small fraction of its damage. So if you are fighting a level 15 enemy, you are better off with a crappy level 15 weapon than an elite level 12 weapon even if the level 12 weapon has much higher damage on paper.
This game is a horrible rip off of the Borderlands series. It's not worth it at all. Don't get this game
