I have been playing Bounce On every since it was released toward the end of 2008 and now having played the full version of Bounce On 2 (pre-release) for the past three days. I can confidently say it has improved in every way possible. Everything is top notch: from the way Bounce interacts with the surrounding environment, to the sound/voice effects, to the controls. A great deal of time was put into this game and it shows with every new level unlocked. With loads of levels, killer boss battles, wicked power-ups and your trusty companion Bounce.... it really is a must buy, right now type of game. If you don't own this game when it is released in the U.S. you will surely regret it. jak56 Well-Known Member Oct 3, 2009 5,946 33 0 the 56th realm of existence #10 jak56, Mar 28, 2010 promo code huh? MartiNZ Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 1,197 3 38 #11 MartiNZ, Mar 28, 2010 Game Impressions Defeated Drallo in NZ. Now off to work. I went the easiest way I guess for the first run through, finishing the first 8 or 9 doors as required for the boss battles. Drallo battle is a doozy! Boss battles otherwise are amusing. Level design in general is impressive, and as per the lite thread, I'm sure time challenges are going to go on for quite a while. Graphics are great, a bit of a step-up over BO1 I think, although sometimes it can be hard to tell what is solid and what is not. Sound and music are great, although this morning it did start up and ignore my music setting so there was none for that session - perhaps my iPhone trying to rest its ageing 3g body. Unfortunately IMO, some levels come very close to crossing over from fun to just plain annoying, something that I never encountered in BO1. Some levels I'm not sure I'll ever complete, 3-12 anyone? I guess there's a reason they implemented on-screen controls as well - some of the tilt precision required borders on some '80s platform games' jump precision. Because of this they also, thankfully, made it so that if you collected no gems, or there were no gems on a level, the timer will start again from 0 each of the 100+ times you die . I really don't like how the level selection areas can be a challenge to get around - I would much rather be able to just play without that delay like in BO1. Selection after a level seems confusing also - for what will soon become strict time-based challenges, there should be a 'replay level' button on the results screen, and 'continue' should be more reliable in meaning. There should also be a strict time mode where it will automatically restart the level if you die, ignoring any save points passed - I asked about that for BO1 a while back and had hoped to see it. Sorry for the negativity right off the bat. It's a great game . I don't see how anything can take the title from this game unless mario himself comes to the iPhone. I have been playing this non stop for the past 2 or 3 days and I don't see stopping anytime soon. The new powerups, enemies, and just overall level design are fantastic. I was worried this game would be stale seeing how much I played BO, but nope this is like a whole new game, and this is honestly one of the first MUST HAVES. This wording gets tossed around a lot but there are very few games that honestly everyone can enjoy and everyone should own, but Bounce On 2 is one. Thank god because SF4 was getting a little old. Also where is the new zombie game from Gameloft. I can't wait for that. MartiNZ Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 1,197 3 38 #16 MartiNZ, Mar 28, 2010 Oh forgot about that. Not a fan of the new power-up mechanics - having to swipe for fireball is fiddly with tilt & touch, and I just felt they were less interesting than the previous 'different sort of ball' power-ups. Also having to jump on the containers can be annoying for time runs . Conveniently there is also much less of a requirement to keep the power-ups for as long as was needed in BO1, and the required power-ups are also supplied at save points. I'm suddenly confused by the direction the game has taken. Rolando 2 blatantly made everything easier than in Rolando 1. BO2 has made things easier with power-ups but made levels in general harder - it has taken away a bit of player control with things like ramps and pipes and gravity, and yet made control more important with far more obstacles in some levels. Very interesting. I preferred the old medal system for all gems and time, but the TP emblem system is quite a cool additional layer here! What is nice for more casual gamers is they can skip certain levels and move on without being stuck at a certain point in the game. So, really everyone can enjoy it. I absolute love all the new power-ups. To master them takes skill, which I love in games. As for timed runs, that is why I love Bounce On in the first place. If it was easy to run through a level everyone would be taken my #1 spot on the leaderboards. IMO it isn't annoying or hard to jump on the containers for timed runs. What you have to do is find the little tricks and shortcuts to master a certain level. I look forward to taking my usual spot on the leaderboards after my casual run through all the levels. Be on the look out for the mario type level in World 1 called "Capture The Flag."
