Looks cool, will definitely give it a go. Lots of indie love in this one. Decidedly for folks who appreciate some “indie cuteness,” but the combat system is solid — easy to understand but complex enough to make the fights challenging and enjoyable. The controls are perfect for touchscreen. Plus there are a ton an accessibility options to make the game as easy as you want (in case you in this more for the adorable banter than the combat). So far, this is an awesome addition to the iOS library. anthony78 and Anotherkellydown like this. pjft Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2011 1,082 8 38 #6 pjft, Oct 23, 2022 Keep us posted. I have my eye on this, and definitely want to learn more. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,714 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #7 squarezero, Oct 23, 2022 Played through three bosses so far and I still like it a lot. A few new thoughts: Even though it has the trappings of an RPG, this is more of a skill-based rhythm combat game. It’s all about learning boss patterns and staying on beat with the pretty awesome music. Unlike other rhythm games, it doesn’t require (or measure) super precise taps and if you mess up there are ways to recover. Boss fights can be fairly long, and if you die you go back to the start of the encounter. Obviously that’s a good incentive to improve your skills and pay attention to the patterns. But it can be a little unforgiving, especially if you screw up towards the end of the fight. Haven’t tried changing difficulty yet (haven’t had to); there’s seems to be a lot of room (and choices) to make things easier. As expected, the banter and dialogue sections are very playful and anachronistic. What’s interesting is that there’s a fair amount of world building as well. Even with the somewhat long encounters, this is a very easy game to pick up and play — every boss fight is a discrete unit of play. I can see myself going back to this between longer sessions with other, more involved titles. pjft and Anotherkellydown like this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
