The overall demand for fps games are considerably higher than tactical shooters, on iOS,Console, PC, etc... Infinity Project 1 and 2, are cheaper games that don't compare to games like Modern combat, nova or Codwaw. Therefore they will cost considerably less. If you look at some of the highest grossing apps in the history of iOS. The titles that I just mentioned, Modern combat and CodWAW (fps games) are among the very highest in gross sales. Please do your reseach before you start rambling about myself making a statement of general principle because I did back up my statement with fact.
Higher demand doesn't mean higher price. Often the game with higher demand can have a lower price because you can make more revenue from more customers paying less each. Angry Birds is in higher demand than any of the games you mentioned.

Angry birds in not even in the same category as a Modern combat, nova 3. The content and production values of a game like Modern combat 3 is way more extensive than a physics game like Angry birds. Therefore Gameloft will usually sell their games for a premium price on release. I believe they have sales to push units but the way the current trend is on the app store market. iOS gamers are generally cheap and don't want to pay higher prices such as 6.99. They wait for sales. Currently today, most top paid apps are 2 or less on the app market. As apposed to a few years ago when games like Modern combat, codwaw, Rage, Shadowgun, would top the charts. Most consumers don't want to pay premium prices for apps opting to pay for the .99 cent games or wait until premium games go on sale. If you put a game like Angry Birds for a higher price like 6.99 no one would buy it.
It goes back to my original statement about the game maybe not being worth 4.99 for iphone for a top down shooter game. ( that was actually before I saw footage of gameplay and graphics) because it is really polished and if gameplay is done well, I have no problem shelling out 5 bucks for the game. ... Then Ayjona and I got into it about FPS vs Tactical top down shooters. Then people started piping in about FPS games, so read the history and you'll understand. Personally, I don't understand why people on this thread are having a beef with FPS, because Borderlands is an FPS game and honestly if this game was a free roam FPS like the original Borderlands or BL2, than this game would be off the charts, instead of having 14 pages, it would be more like 60 or 70 pages. I would easily pay 6.99 for a Borderlands authentic port but not to say this game looks good for a tactical shooter. Could be a lot of fun, IDK?
But also if this thread were about a "free roam FPS" then I'd have no interest in it and I wouldn't subscribe to this thread. The people who are reading this thread are reading it because they are interested in this actual game, not some hypothetical other game that you would prefer. Maybe there are more people who would rather play some other game (including Angry Birds). But that's not this game so could we please talk about this game in this forum and talk about some other game that you're more interested in in some other forum for that game?

I'm still interested in this game because Borderlands is my favourite PC game. I've accepted the fact that the developers decided to go another route with the game. I can keep the conversation pertaining to the game in it's present state. Hopefully some people can keep it that way also.
Like most people I was hoping for a fps, i mean it's been proven that they can be done on the platform. To me it seems a safer route has been taken in going this direction, top down and tactical shooters are tried and true on portable devices. I'm sure the game will turn out at least decent and I'll definately be picking it up but I personally would've preferred something similar to dead trigger. I will say though the game's visuals are pretty much spot on in emulating the borderlands look.
I'm glad they're not making this an FPS. For me, FPS games just don't work on my iPhone. This game in the Borderlands universe could potentially work very well.
