Well one of my downloads, The Wizard of Oz (yeah the 1939 classic), just finished downloading so imma fire it up. The borderlands legends download should be done when im done with the movie.
The update fixed the game a lot, it's definitely worth the dollar now. Especially if you got a iPhone 5. It looks like the dollar price is now permanent and not a sale. Reason? It has ads now when starting the game and when finishing a mission.
What got better that makes it worth buying now? We have to rely on you previous owners to tell us cause all the youtube vids and game reviews are all inaccurate now. Can you tell us why it's better now? We also need Exact pscience to wake up hehe.
^LOL... Anyways, the update did fix your characters to be able to walk around obstacles, but they still get stupefied if your other characters are in between his preferred path. I know this is kinda hard to understand but i'll try to explain... Example, we have 2 walls beside each other and the only way to get past them is either to get through the gap between them, or walk the long way around. If you put 2 characters to block the gap between the walls, your third character still wont try to walk around the long way, instead, he'll walk through the gap, bump into his friends blocking the way, and stop in his tracks right there. That's still not so good in my book, but if you can avoid clogging paths with your characters, the AI knows their way around obstacles. Also, it's stil difficult to select characters who are too close to each other. At least you can select characters using their portraits above. Overall, the update is an improvement, but not much to make the game stand out... On the other hand, the update does make the game at least playable compared to the really bad game that it was when it came out the first time. EDIT: The ads in between missions are annoying because... THEY COVER THE WHOLE SCREEN.
Didn't buy at the beginning because of the bad reviews, but if it got better and no features ads, in a paid game for me is a big nope.
I have a problem with Borderlands Legends HD on the iPad (3rd generation): There's no text... when I start a new game, a blue box pops up with two lighter blue rectangles inside. I can tap the rectangles and one seems to start a tutorial (I guess it's the "yes" option). Anyway, there's no text on the buttons at all. That continues throughout the whole game it seems... unplayable that way. Anyone else having these problems or any help to solve them?
Didnt have that problem on the ipad mini or the iPad3. Yeah,... it asks if you want to play the tutorial and the buttons are y/n.
If that were the only problem... I noticed now if I want to buy new items, there is just NO text at all besides the icons. As if the font had gone missing.
It sounds like the game is set for a different language which your i device doesn't have. Not sure where the language settings are as it's probably obvious I won't be buying this game... but maybe someone else can direct you through the menus or if they are separate in the device settings then where to change the language there. I saw something like this come up in another app recently. It didn't happen to me but it sounds like the same situation. Also the boxes could just be the ads... maybe it's freaking out because of the language being off as well or a lack of a net connection or something. Anyway, just trying to help.
Installed it again to check the update and I too have this problem. Running it on an ipad 4 with 50+ gb of free space. Maybe is the fact that I havent installed the latest ios update on it? Are you up to date ? I also have another language set as the default so that may be it. Anyways I dont think I have it in my to play this again so im deleting it for good...
What would that be? Like Chinese? I have no clue... @MeanTuna: Yes, my iOS is completely updated. But you having the same problem doesn't make it seem like a one-device-only error anymore...
After the update, it's jumped to the top 5 on the paid charts with an average of 4 stars. Going to give it a go.. I still can't believe it's THAT bad. Guess I'll see soon enough.
This game is poopoo. The pathing in this game makes my units act like they are having an epileptic seizure. I actually wanted to give this game an honest chance but after playing for a bit, the game crashed and now refuses to even load. Of course this has to happen to a game that I actually paid for!
Yeah, nothing bad ever makes it into the top 5 on the paid charts. ...yes this is sarcasm But in your case I hope you love the game but report after report from other owners I trust here say... it's not a good game. There are better games out there in the same genre.
Has anyone else seen that debug mode button? I skipped like 8 levels and a boss I didn't even recognize what I was doing at first.
Why would the maker of such a fantastic game that is borderlands allow such a horrific off shoot of that gem? This is truly awful.
