I prefer eReader. But you need BookShelf if you have eBooks in Mobipocket format. Stanza is completely useless for Mobipocket eBooks because it crashes for big books and destroys the layout of the few books it can open. BookShelf is also not able to handle all Mobipocket eBooks (especially those with frames and dictionaries), but at least it maintains the layout and graphics.

Besides the Mobipocket issue, the handling of BookShelf is a bit strange. The eBooks are loaded in parts. You read every part by scrolling (like in Safari) and have to wait at the end of every part to load the next one.

I like [app]Eucalyptus[/app]; the pages actually turn convincingly. As die-hard collector and reader of "real" books, this simple feature goes a long way. Not cheap, though.

If you want to read new books and not just old copyright free stuff, you need support for the relevant formats: EPUB, Mobipocket, eReader and Kindle. Eucalyptus does not offer any of these formats, so it is really not an option.
